< Galatians 3 >
1 O foolish Galatians! Who you has bewitched (the truth not to obey *K*) whose before eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed (among you *K*) [as] crucified?
he nirbbodhA gAlAtilokAH, yuShmAkaM madhye krushe hata iva yIshuH khrIShTo yuShmAkaM samakShaM prakAshita AsIt ato yUyaM yathA satyaM vAkyaM na gR^ihlItha tathA kenAmuhyata?
2 This only I wish to learn from you; by works of [the] Law the Spirit did you receive or by hearing of faith?
ahaM yuShmattaH kathAmekAM jij nAse yUyam AtmAnaM kenAlabhadhvaM? vyavasthApAlanena kiM vA vishvAsavAkyasya shravaNena?
3 So foolish are you? Having begun in [the] Spirit now in [the] flesh are you being perfected?
yUyaM kim IdR^ig abodhA yad AtmanA karmmArabhya sharIreNa tat sAdhayituM yatadhve?
4 So many things did you suffer in vain? if indeed even in vain!
tarhi yuShmAkaM gurutaro duHkhabhogaH kiM niShphalo bhaviShyati? kuphalayukto vA kiM bhaviShyati?
5 The [One] therefore supplying to you the Spirit and working miracles among you, [is it] out of works of the Law or out of hearing of faith?
yo yuShmabhyam AtmAnaM dattavAn yuShmanmadhya AshcharyyANi karmmANi cha sAdhitavAn sa kiM vyavasthApAlanena vishvAsavAkyasya shravaNena vA tat kR^itavAn?
6 Even as Abraham believed in God and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.
likhitamAste, ibrAhIma Ishvare vyashvasIt sa cha vishvAsastasmai puNyArthaM gaNito babhUva,
7 do know then that those of faith these sons are of Abraham.
ato ye vishvAsAshritAsta evebrAhImaH santAnA iti yuShmAbhi rj nAyatAM|
8 Having foreseen then the Scripture that by faith justifies the Gentiles God, foretold the gospel to Abraham that Will be blessed in you all the nations.
Ishvaro bhinnajAtIyAn vishvAsena sapuNyIkariShyatIti pUrvvaM j nAtvA shAstradAtA pUrvvam ibrAhImaM susaMvAdaM shrAvayana jagAda, tvatto bhinnajAtIyAH sarvva AshiShaM prApsyantIti|
9 So then those of faith are blessed along with the believing Abraham.
ato ye vishvAsAshritAste vishvAsinebrAhImA sArddham AshiShaM labhante|
10 As many as for of works of [the] Law are, under a curse are; it has been written for (that *no*) Cursed [is] everyone who not does continue (in *k*) all things which written in the book of the Law to do them.
yAvanto lokA vyavasthAyAH karmmaNyAshrayanti te sarvve shApAdhInA bhavanti yato likhitamAste, yathA, "yaH kashchid etasya vyavasthAgranthasya sarvvavAkyAni nishchidraM na pAlayati sa shapta iti|"
11 for now by [the] law no [one] is justified before God [is] evident, because The righteous by faith will live;
Ishvarasya sAkShAt ko. api vyavasthayA sapuNyo na bhavati tada vyaktaM yataH "puNyavAn mAnavo vishvAsena jIviShyatIti" shAstrIyaM vachaH|
12 And the Law not is of faith rather The [one] having done these things (man *K*) will live by them.
vyavasthA tu vishvAsasambandhinI na bhavati kintvetAni yaH pAlayiShyati sa eva tai rjIviShyatItiniyamasambandhinI|
13 Christ us redeemed from the curse of the Law having become for us a curse; (since *no*) it has been written (for: *k*) Cursed [is] everyone who is hanging on a tree;
khrIShTo. asmAn parikrIya vyavasthAyAH shApAt mochitavAn yato. asmAkaM vinimayena sa svayaM shApAspadamabhavat tadadhi likhitamAste, yathA, "yaH kashchit tarAvullambyate so. abhishapta iti|"
14 so that to the Gentiles the blessing of Abraham may become in Christ Jesus so that the promise of the Spirit we may receive through faith.
tasmAd khrIShTena yIshunevrAhIma AshI rbhinnajAtIyalokeShu varttate tena vayaM pratij nAtam AtmAnaM vishvAsena labdhuM shaknumaH|
15 Brothers, according to man I am speaking. Even of man ratified a covenant no [one] sets aside or adds thereto.
he bhrAtR^igaNa mAnuShANAM rItyanusAreNAhaM kathayAmi kenachit mAnavena yo niyamo nirachAyi tasya vikR^iti rvR^iddhi rvA kenApi na kriyate|
16 And to Abraham were spoken the promises and to the seed of him. Not it does say; and to seeds as of many but as of One; and to the seed of you who is Christ.
parantvibrAhIme tasya santAnAya cha pratij nAH prati shushruvire tatra santAnashabdaM bahuvachanAntam abhUtvA tava santAnAyetyekavachanAntaM babhUva sa cha santAnaH khrIShTa eva|
17 This now I say: [The] covenant confirmed beforehand by God (into Christ *K*) afterward four hundred and thirty years having come [the] law not does annul so as to nullify the promise.
ataevAhaM vadAmi, IshvareNa yo niyamaH purA khrIShTamadhi nirachAyi tataH paraM triMshadadhikachatuHshatavatsareShu gateShu sthApitA vyavasthA taM niyamaM nirarthakIkR^itya tadIyapratij nA loptuM na shaknoti|
18 If for by [the] Law [is] the inheritance no longer no longer by a promise; but to Abraham through a promise has granted [it] God.
yasmAt sampadadhikAro yadi vyavasthayA bhavati tarhi pratij nayA na bhavati kintvIshvaraH pratij nayA tadadhikAritvam ibrAhIme. adadAt|
19 Why then the Law? transgressions Because of it was added until (that *NK(o)*) may have come the seed to whom promise has been made, having been ordained through angels in [the] hand of a mediator.
tarhi vyavasthA kimbhUtA? pratij nA yasmai pratishrutA tasya santAnasyAgamanaM yAvad vyabhichAranivAraNArthaM vyavasthApi dattA, sA cha dUtairAj nApitA madhyasthasya kare samarpitA cha|
20 However a mediator of one [person] not is, but God one is.
naikasya madhyastho vidyate kintvIshvara eka eva|
21 The therefore Law [is] contrary to the promises of God? Never would it be! If for was given a law which is being able to impart life, indeed (from [the] law *NK(o)*) then would was emerging righteousness;
tarhi vyavasthA kim Ishvarasya pratij nAnAM viruddhA? tanna bhavatu| yasmAd yadi sA vyavasthA jIvanadAnesamarthAbhaviShyat tarhi vyavasthayaiva puNyalAbho. abhaviShyat|
22 but imprisoned the Scripture [things] all under sin, so that the promise by faith from Jesus Christ may be given to those believing.
kintu yIshukhrIShTe yo vishvAsastatsambandhiyAH pratij nAyAH phalaM yad vishvAsilokebhyo dIyate tadarthaM shAstradAtA sarvvAn pApAdhInAn gaNayati|
23 Before now coming faith under [the] Law we were held in custody (being locked up *N(k)O*) until which is being soon faith to be revealed.
ataeva vishvAsasyAnAgatasamaye vayaM vyavasthAdhInAH santo vishvAsasyodayaM yAvad ruddhA ivArakShyAmahe|
24 so that the Law trainer of us has become unto Christ, so that by faith we may be justified;
itthaM vayaM yad vishvAsena sapuNyIbhavAmastadarthaM khrIShTasya samIpam asmAn netuM vyavasthAgratho. asmAkaM vinetA babhUva|
25 When was coming now the faith no longer no longer under a trainer we are.
kintvadhunAgate vishvAse vayaM tasya vineturanadhInA abhavAma|
26 all for sons of God you are through faith in Christ Jesus;
khrIShTe yIshau vishvasanAt sarvve yUyam Ishvarasya santAnA jAtAH|
27 As many as for into Christ you were baptized, Christ you have put on.
yUyaM yAvanto lokAH khrIShTe majjitA abhavata sarvve khrIShTaM parihitavantaH|
28 Neither there is Jew nor Greek, neither there is slave nor free, neither there is male and female; (all *NK(o)*) for you yourselves one are in Christ Jesus.
ato yuShmanmadhye yihUdiyUnAnino rdAsasvatantrayo ryoShApuruShayoshcha ko. api visheSho nAsti; sarvve yUyaM khrIShTe yIshAveka eva|
29 If now you yourselves [are] Christ’s, then Abraham’s seed you are, (and *k*) according to [the] promise heirs.
ki ncha yUyaM yadi khrIShTasya bhavatha tarhi sutarAm ibrAhImaH santAnAH pratij nayA sampadadhikAriNashchAdhve|
