Ezekiel 19
1 And you take up a lamentation because of [the] princes of Israel.
Et toi, prononce une complainte sur les princes d’Israël,
2 And you will say what? [was] mother your a lioness between lions she lay down in among young lions she reared cubs her.
et dis: Ta mère, qu’était-ce? Une lionne. Elle était couchée parmi les lions; C’est au milieu des lionceaux Qu’elle a élevé ses petits.
3 And she brought up one of cubs her a young lion it was and it learned to tear prey human[s] it devoured.
Elle éleva l’un de ses petits, Qui devint un jeune lion, Et qui apprit à déchirer sa proie; Il dévora des hommes.
4 And they heard concerning it nations in pit their it was caught and they brought it with hooks to [the] land of Egypt.
Les nations entendirent parler de lui, Et il fut pris dans leur fosse; Elles mirent une boucle à ses narines et l’emmenèrent Dans le pays d’Égypte.
5 And she saw that she waited it was lost hope her and she took one of cubs her a young lion she made it.
Quand la lionne vit qu’elle attendait en vain, Qu’elle était trompée dans son espérance, Elle prit un autre de ses petits, Et en fit un jeune lion.
6 And it went about in among lions a young lion it was and it learned to tear prey human[s] it devoured.
Il marcha parmi les lions, Il devint un jeune lion, Et il apprit à déchirer sa proie; Il dévora des hommes.
7 And it knew widows its and cities their it laid waste and it was desolate [the] land and what fills it from [the] sound of roaring its.
Il força leurs palais, Et détruisit leurs villes; Le pays, tout ce qui s’y trouvait, fut ravagé, Au bruit de ses rugissements.
8 And they set on it nations all around from provinces and they spread out over it net their in pit their it was caught.
Contre lui se rangèrent les nations D’alentour, des provinces; Elles tendirent sur lui leur rets, Et il fut pris dans leur fosse.
9 And they put it in cage with hooks and they brought it to [the] king of Babylon they brought it in strongholds so that not it will be heard voice its again to [the] mountains of Israel.
Elles mirent une boucle à ses narines, le placèrent dans une cage, Et l’emmenèrent auprès du roi de Babylone; Puis elles le conduisirent dans une forteresse, Afin qu’on n’entende plus sa voix sur les montagnes d’Israël.
10 Mother your like vine in blood your at water planted fruitful and full of branches it was from waters many.
Ta mère était, comme toi, semblable à une vigne, Plantée près des eaux. Elle était féconde et chargée de branches, A cause de l’abondance des eaux.
11 And they belonged to it branches of strength to scepters of rulers and it was lofty stature its above between branches and it was seen by height its by [the] abundance of branches its.
Elle avait de vigoureux rameaux pour des sceptres de souverains; Par son élévation elle dominait les branches touffues; Elle attirait les regards par sa hauteur, Et par la multitude de ses rameaux.
12 And it was plucked up in rage to the ground it was thrown down and [the] wind of the east it dried up fruit its they were torn off and they became dry [the] branch of strength its a fire it consumed it.
Mais elle a été arrachée avec fureur et jetée par terre; Le vent d’orient a desséché son fruit; Ses rameaux vigoureux ont été rompus et desséchés; Le feu les a dévorés.
13 And now [it is] planted in the wilderness in a land dry and thirst.
Et maintenant elle est plantée dans le désert, Dans une terre sèche et aride.
14 And it went out fire from [the] branch of shoots its fruit its it consumed and not it was in it a branch of strength a scepter to rule [is] a lamentation it and it has become a lamentation.
Le feu est sorti de ses branches, Et a dévoré son fruit; Elle n’a plus de rameau vigoureux Pour un sceptre de souverain. C’est là une complainte, et cela servira de complainte.
