Ezekiel 17
1 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
Ilizwi likaThixo lafika kimi lisithi:
2 O son of humankind ask a riddle a riddle and speak a parable a parable concerning [the] house of Israel.
“Ndodana yomuntu, yenza umzekeliso utshele indlu yako-Israyeli umfanekiso.
3 And you will say thus he says - [the] Lord Yahweh the eagle great great of wings long of pinion full plumage which [belonged] to it variegated plumage it came to Lebanon and it took [the] treetop of the cedar.
Wothi kubo, ‘Nanku okutshiwo nguThixo Wobukhosi: Ingqungqulu enkulu elezimpiko ezilamandla, izinsiba ezinde njalo zinengi zimibalabala yafika eLebhanoni. Ibambe isihloko somsedari,
4 [the] top Shoots its it plucked off and it brought it to a land of merchant[s] in a city of traders it placed it.
yephula ihlumela elalingaphezu kwawo wonke yalisa elizweni labathengisi lapho eyalihlanyela khona edolobheni labathengisi.
5 And it took one of [the] seed of the land and it put it in a field of seed take [it] at waters many a willow it placed it.
Yathatha enye yenhlanyelo yelizwe lakini yayifaka emhlabathini ovundileyo: Yayihlanyela njengomnyezane phansi kwamanzi amanengi,
6 And it sprouted and it became a vine spreading low of stature to turn branches its to it and roots its under it they were and it became a vine and it produced shoots and it sent out boughs.
yahluma yaba livini elifitshane elinabayo. Ingatsha zalo zaphendukela kuyo, kodwa impande zalo zaba ngaphansi kwalo. Ngakho laba livini laba lezingatsha ezilamahlamvu amanengi.
7 And it was an eagle one great great of wings and great of plumage and there! the vine this it bent roots its on it and branches its it sent out to it to water it from [the] beds of planting its.
Kodwa kwakulenye ingqungqulu enkulu elezimpiko ezilamandla lezinsiba ezinengi. Khathesi ivini lakhuphela impande zalo kuyo zisuka esivandeni elalihlanyelwe kuso njalo lelulela ingatsha zalo kuyo zifuna amanzi.
8 To a field good to waters many it [was] planted to produce branch[es] and to bear fruit to become a vine of splendor.
Lalihlanyelwe emhlabathini omuhle phansi kwamanzi amanengi ukuze liveze ingatsha, lithele izithelo libe livini elihle.’
9 Say thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh will it prosper? ¿ not roots its will it pull up and fruit its - will it strip off? and it will wither all [the] fresh [things] of growth its it will wither and not by an arm great and by a people numerous to lift up it from roots its.
Wothi kubo, ‘Nanku okutshiwo nguThixo Wobukhosi: Kambe lizakhula kuhle na? Kaliyikusitshunwa izithelo zalo ziqhululwe ukuba libune na? Wonke amahlumela alo azabuna. Akuyikusweleka ingalo elamandla kumbe abantu abanengi ukuba balisiphune.
10 And there! [it is] planted ¿ will it prosper ¿ not when touches it [the] wind of the east will it wither completely on [the] beds of growth its it will wither.
Lanxa lingayagxunyekwa kwenye indawo lingakhula kuhle na? Kambe kaliyikubuna okupheleleyo nxa umoya wasempumalanga ulihangula libune esivandeni elakhulela kuso na?’”
11 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
Ilizwi likaThixo laselifika kimi lisithi:
12 Say please to [the] house of rebellion ¿ not do you know what? [are] these [things] say there! he went [the] king of Babylon Jerusalem and he took king its and princes its and he brought them to himself Babylon towards.
“Tshono kule indlu ehlamukayo uthi, ‘Kalazi ukuthi izinto lezi zitshoni na?’ Tshono kubo uthi, ‘Inkosi yaseBhabhiloni yaya eJerusalema yathumba inkosi yalo kanye lezikhulu zalo yabuyela labo eBhabhiloni.
13 And he took one of [the] offspring of royalty and he made with him a covenant and he made go him in an oath and [the] leaders of the land he took.
Yathatha omunye wabenzalo yasesikhosini, yenza isivumelwano laye, yamfungisa. Yathumba lamanye amadoda elizwe adumileyo,
14 To be a kingdom lowly to not to exalt itself to keep covenant his to continue it.
ukuze umbuso uye phansi, ungavuki futhi, ume nje kuphela ngokugcina isivumelwano sayo.
15 And he rebelled against him by sending messengers his Egypt to give to him horses and a people numerous ¿ will he prosper ¿ will he escape the [one who] does these [things] and will he break? a covenant and will he escape?
Kodwa inkosi yamhlamukela ngokuthuma isithunywa eGibhithe ukuba ziyethatha amabhiza kanye lebutho elikhulu. Kambe izaphumelela na? Kambe lowo owenza izinto ezinje uzaphunyuka na? Kambe uzakwephula isivumelwano kodwa aphunyuke na?
16 [by] [the] life Of me [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh if not in [the] place of the king who made king him whom he despised oath his and whom he broke covenant his with him in [the] midst of Babylon he will die.
Ngeqiniso elinjengoba ngikhona, kutsho uThixo Wobukhosi, uzafela eBhabhiloni, elizweni lenkosi eyambeka esihlalweni sobukhosi, esifungo sayo wasidelela wephula lesivumelwano sayo.
17 And not with an army large and with a company great he will do with him Pharaoh in battle when pour out a mound and when build a siege-wall to cut off lives many.
UFaro lebutho lakhe elilamandla kanye lexuku elikhulu akuyikumsiza empini, lapho sekwakhiwe amadundulu kwamiswa lemiduli yokuvimbezela ukuba kuchithwe imiphefumulo eminengi.
18 And he despised [the] oath by breaking [the] covenant and there! he had given hand his and all these [things] he did not he will escape.
Wadelela isifungo ngokwephula isivumelwano. Ngoba wazibopha ngesifungo kodwa wasesenza zonke lezizinto akayikuphunyuka.
19 Therefore thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh [by] [the] life of me if not oath my which he despised and covenant my which he broke and I will requite it on own head his.
Ngakho nanku okutshiwo nguThixo Wobukhosi: Ngeqiniso elinjengoba ngikhona, ngizakwehlisela phezu kwekhanda lakhe isifungo sami asidelayo kanye lesivumelwano sami asephulayo.
20 And I will spread over him net my and he will be caught in hunting net my and I will bring him Babylon towards and I will enter into judgment with him there unfaithfulness his which he has acted unfaithfully against me.
Ngizamendlalela imbule lami, njalo uzabanjwa yisifu sami. Ngizamusa eBhabhiloni, ngenzele khona ukumahlulela kwami ngoba wayengathembekanga kimi.
21 And all (fugitives his *Q(K)*) among all troops his by the sword they will fall and the [ones who] survive to every wind they will be scattered and you will know that I Yahweh I have spoken.
Wonke amabutho akhe abalekayo azabulawa ngenkemba, abasindayo bazahlakazelwa emimoyeni. Lapho-ke lizakwazi ukuthi mina Thixo sengikhulumile.
22 Thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh and I will take I from [the] treetop of the cedar high and I will place [it] from [the] top of young shoots its a tender [shoot] I will pluck off and I will plant [it] I on a mountain high and lofty.
Nanku okutshiwo nguThixo Wobukhosi: Mina ngokwami ngizathatha ihlumela kuso kanye isihloko somsedari ngilihlanyele; ngizakwephula ihlumela elibuthakathaka eklintini lawo eliphezulu kakhulu kulamanye ngilihlanyele phezu kwentaba ende ephakemeyo.
23 On [the] mountain of [the] height of Israel I will plant it and it will bear branch[es] and it will produce fruit and it will become a cedar majestic and they will dwell under it every bird every wing in [the] shadow of branches its they will dwell.
Ngizalihlanyela ezingqongeni zentaba yako-Israyeli; lizaveza ingatsha lithele lezithelo njalo libe ngumsedari omuhle. Izinyoni zezinhlobo zonke zizakwakhela izidleke zazo kuwo; zizathola ukusitheka emthunzini wezingatsha zawo.
24 And they will know all [the] trees of the field that I Yahweh I bring low - a tree tall I raise up a tree low I make dry a tree moist and I make sprout a tree dry I Yahweh I have spoken and I will act.
Zonke izihlahla zeganga zizakwazi ukuthi mina Thixo ngifinyeza isihlahla eside ngenze esifitshane sikhule sibeside. Ngomisa isihlahla esiluhlaza ngenze esomileyo sihlume. Mina Thixo sengikhulumile, njalo ngizakwenza.’”
