Ezekiel 17
1 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
Het woord van Jahweh werd tot mij gericht:
2 O son of humankind ask a riddle a riddle and speak a parable a parable concerning [the] house of Israel.
Mensenkind, geef aan het huis van Israël een raadsel op, draag het een gelijkenis voor
3 And you will say thus he says - [the] Lord Yahweh the eagle great great of wings long of pinion full plumage which [belonged] to it variegated plumage it came to Lebanon and it took [the] treetop of the cedar.
en zeg: Zo spreekt Jahweh, de Heer! De grote arend met brede vleugels En lange wieken, Dik in de veren en bontgekleurd, Vloog naar de Libanon. Hij knakte de kruin van de ceder,
4 [the] top Shoots its it plucked off and it brought it to a land of merchant[s] in a city of traders it placed it.
De top van zijn takken brak hij af; Hij bracht dat naar een handelsland, En zette het in een koopmansstad.
5 And it took one of [the] seed of the land and it put it in a field of seed take [it] at waters many a willow it placed it.
Toen nam hij een spruit van het land, En plantte die op een zaaiveld, Zette hem op een waterrijke plek, Plaatste hem aan de oever:
6 And it sprouted and it became a vine spreading low of stature to turn branches its to it and roots its under it they were and it became a vine and it produced shoots and it sent out boughs.
Om uit te lopen en een wijnstok te worden Met brede kroon, met korte stam; Zijn ranken moesten naar hem zijn gekeerd, Zijn wortels onder hèm blijven.
7 And it was an eagle one great great of wings and great of plumage and there! the vine this it bent roots its on it and branches its it sent out to it to water it from [the] beds of planting its.
Maar er was nog een andere grote arend, Met brede vleugels, dik in de veren; En zie, die wijnstok strekte zijn wortels naar hem uit, En boog zijn ranken naar hem toe, Opdat hij hem bevochtigen zou, Meer dan het bed, waarop hij geplant was.
8 To a field good to waters many it [was] planted to produce branch[es] and to bear fruit to become a vine of splendor.
Toch was hij geplant op goede grond, aan rijkelijk water, Om loten te schieten, vruchten te dragen, Een pracht van een wijnstok te worden.
9 Say thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh will it prosper? ¿ not roots its will it pull up and fruit its - will it strip off? and it will wither all [the] fresh [things] of growth its it will wither and not by an arm great and by a people numerous to lift up it from roots its.
Zeg, zal hij gedijen, zo spreekt Jahweh, de Heer; Zullen zijn wortels niet uitgerukt worden, Zijn vruchten niet worden afgesneden, Zodat zijn frisse loof geheel verdort?
10 And there! [it is] planted ¿ will it prosper ¿ not when touches it [the] wind of the east will it wither completely on [the] beds of growth its it will wither.
Nog staat hij geplant, maar zal hij gedijen? Als een Oostenwind hem verzengt, Zal hij dan niet geheel verdorren Op het bed, waarop hij geplant is?
11 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
Het woord van Jahweh werd tot mij gericht:
12 Say please to [the] house of rebellion ¿ not do you know what? [are] these [things] say there! he went [the] king of Babylon Jerusalem and he took king its and princes its and he brought them to himself Babylon towards.
Vraag eens aan het onhandelbare ras: Begrijpt ge niet, wat dat betekent? Verklaar dan: Zie, de koning van Babel is naar Jerusalem gekomen: zijn koning en groten heeft hij weggevoerd, en ze met zich meegenomen naar Babel.
13 And he took one of [the] offspring of royalty and he made with him a covenant and he made go him in an oath and [the] leaders of the land he took.
Toen koos hij iemand van koninklijk geslacht, sloot met hem een verbond, en verplichtte hem onder ede. De voornaamsten van het land nam hij mee,
14 To be a kingdom lowly to not to exalt itself to keep covenant his to continue it.
opdat het een onbeduidend koninkrijk zou zijn, niet in staat zich te verheffen, maar dat zijn verbond zou naleven en het gestand doen.
15 And he rebelled against him by sending messengers his Egypt to give to him horses and a people numerous ¿ will he prosper ¿ will he escape the [one who] does these [things] and will he break? a covenant and will he escape?
Maar hij kwam tegen hem in opstand door gezanten naar Egypte te zenden, om hem paarden te geven en veel troepen. Zal hij slagen? Zal iemand, die zo doet, ontkomen; die het verbond heeft verbroken, ontsnappen?
16 [by] [the] life Of me [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh if not in [the] place of the king who made king him whom he despised oath his and whom he broke covenant his with him in [the] midst of Babylon he will die.
Zo waar Ik leef, zegt Jahweh, de Heer: in de woonplaats van den koning, die hem op de troon verhief, maar wiens eed hij schond en wiens verbond hij brak: midden in Babel zal hij sterven.
17 And not with an army large and with a company great he will do with him Pharaoh in battle when pour out a mound and when build a siege-wall to cut off lives many.
Neen, Farao zal hem niet met een grote krijgsmacht en een talrijk leger in de strijd ondersteunen, als hij een wal heeft aangelegd, verschansingen heeft gebouwd, en vele mensenlevens opoffert.
18 And he despised [the] oath by breaking [the] covenant and there! he had given hand his and all these [things] he did not he will escape.
Hij is meinedig geworden door het verbond te breken. Zie, hij heeft zijn hand erop gegeven, en toch doet hij dit alles! Néén, hij zal niet ontkomen!
19 Therefore thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh [by] [the] life of me if not oath my which he despised and covenant my which he broke and I will requite it on own head his.
Daarom, zegt Jahweh, de Heer: Zo waar ik leef, de bij Mij gezworen eed die hij schond, en het voor Mij gesloten verbond dat hij brak, zal Ik op zijn hoofd doen neerkomen.
20 And I will spread over him net my and he will be caught in hunting net my and I will bring him Babylon towards and I will enter into judgment with him there unfaithfulness his which he has acted unfaithfully against me.
Mijn jachtnet werp Ik over hem heen, en in mijn strik wordt hij gevangen; Ik zal hem naar Babel brengen en daar vonnissen voor de trouwbreuk, waardoor hij zich aan Mij heeft vergrepen.
21 And all (fugitives his *Q(K)*) among all troops his by the sword they will fall and the [ones who] survive to every wind they will be scattered and you will know that I Yahweh I have spoken.
Al zijn keurtroepen in al zijn legers zullen vallen door het zwaard; en die ontsnappen, zullen naar alle windstreken worden verstrooid. Zo zult ge erkennen, dat Ik, Jahweh, gesproken heb.
22 Thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh and I will take I from [the] treetop of the cedar high and I will place [it] from [the] top of young shoots its a tender [shoot] I will pluck off and I will plant [it] I on a mountain high and lofty.
Dit zegt Jahweh, de Heer: Van de top des ceders zal Ik zelf een takje plukken, Van de spits zijner takken een tenger twijgje breken. Op een hoge en verheven berg zal Ik het planten,
23 On [the] mountain of [the] height of Israel I will plant it and it will bear branch[es] and it will produce fruit and it will become a cedar majestic and they will dwell under it every bird every wing in [the] shadow of branches its they will dwell.
Op Israëls hoogste toppen zal Ik het zetten; Het zal loten schieten, vrucht vormen, En groeien tot een geweldige ceder. Daaronder zullen alle vogels rusten, Al wat vleugels heeft, zal in de schaduw van zijn takken nestelen.
24 And they will know all [the] trees of the field that I Yahweh I bring low - a tree tall I raise up a tree low I make dry a tree moist and I make sprout a tree dry I Yahweh I have spoken and I will act.
En alle bomen van het veld zullen erkennen, Dat Ik, Jahweh, een hoge boom vernederd, Een lage boom verheven heb; Een frisse boom verdroogd, Een dorre boom tot bloei heb gebracht. Ik, Jahweh, heb gesproken, en zal het doen!
