Exodus 1
1 And these [are] [the] names of [the] sons of Israel who went Egypt towards with Jacob everyone and household his they went.
Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Israel que vinieron a Egipto; cada hombre y su familia vinieron con Jacob;
2 Reuben Simeon Levi and Judah.
Rubén, Simeón, Leví y Judá;
3 Issachar Zebulun and Benjamin.
Isacar, Zabulón y Benjamín;
4 Dan and Naphtali Gad and Asher.
Dan y Neftali, Gad y Aser.
5 And it was every person [who] came out of [the] thigh of Jacob seventy person[s] and Joseph he was in Egypt.
Todos los descendientes de Jacob fueron setenta personas; y José estaba con ellos.
6 And he died Joseph and all brothers his and all the generation that.
Entonces José llegó a su fin, y todos sus hermanos y toda esa generación.
7 And [the] people of Israel they were fruitful and they swarmed and they multiplied and they became mighty with muchness muchness and it was filled the land with them.
Y los hijos de Israel fueron fértiles, creciendo mucho en número y en poder; y la tierra estaba llena de ellos.
8 And he arose a king new over Egypt who not he knew Joseph.
Ahora un nuevo rey llegó al poder en Egipto, que no tenía conocimiento de José.
9 And he said to people his here! [the] people of [the] people of Israel [is] numerous and mighty more than us.
Y dijo a su pueblo: Mira, el pueblo de Israel es más numeroso y poderoso que nosotros;
10 Give! let us deal wisely to it lest it should increase and it will be that they will happen war and it will be added also it to [those who] hate us and it will fight against us and it will go up from the land.
Maquinamos algo para que no sigan aumentando su población, y si hay una guerra, pueden unirse con aquellos que están en contra de nosotros, y atacarnos, y salgan de la tierra.
11 And they appointed over it overseers of slave gangs so as to afflict it with forced labor their and it built cities of storage for Pharaoh Pithom and Rameses.
Así que ponen a los supervisores del trabajo forzado sobre ellos, a fin de que su fuerza disminuye por la carga de su trabajo. Y construyeron ciudades para el faraón, Pitom y Ramsés.
12 And just as people afflicted it so it increased and so it spread and people felt dread because of [the] people of Israel.
Pero cuanto más crueles eran con ellos, mayor era su número, hasta que toda la tierra estuvo llena de ellos. Y los hijos de Israel fueron odiados por los egipcios.
13 And they compelled to labor Egypt [the] people of Israel with harshness.
Y dieron a los hijos de Israel aún un trabajo más difícil de hacer.
14 And they made bitter lives their with labor hard in mortar and in bricks and in all labor in the field all labor their which they labored by them with harshness.
Y amargaron sus vidas con el trabajo duro, fabricando materiales de construcción y ladrillos, y haciendo todo tipo de trabajo en el campo en las condiciones más difíciles.
15 And he said [the] king of Egypt to the midwives Hebrew who [the] name of the one [was] Shiphrah and [the] name of the second [was] Puah.
Y el rey de Egipto dijo a las hebreas que daban ayuda en el momento del parto (el nombre de la una era Sifra y el nombre de la otra Fua.
16 And he said when assist as midwife you the Hebrew [women] and you will look at the stones if [is] a son he and you will kill him and if [is] a daughter she and she will live.
Cuando estás cuidando a las hebreas en el parto, si es hijo, lo matarás; pero si es una hija, ella puede seguir viviendo.
17 And they feared the midwives God and not they did just as he had spoken to them [the] king of Egypt and they let live the [male] children.
Pero las mujeres tenían temor de Dios, y no hicieron como dijo el rey de Egipto, sino dejaron que los hijos varones siguieran viviendo.
18 And he summoned [the] king of Egypt the midwives and he said to them why? have you done the thing this and have you let live? the [male] children.
Entonces el rey de Egipto ordenó llamar a las parteras, y les dijo: ¿Por qué hiciste esto, y dejaron que los hijos varones sigan viviendo?
19 And they said the midwives to Pharaoh for not [are] like the women Egyptian the Hebrew [women] that [are] vigorous they before she comes to them the midwife and they give birth.
Y dijeron a Faraón: Porque las hebreas no son como las egipcias, porque son fuertes, y el nacimiento tiene lugar antes de que vengamos a ellas.
20 And he did good God to the midwives and it increased the people and they became mighty exceedingly.
Y la bendición de Dios estaba sobre estas mujeres: y la gente aumentó en número y se hizo muy fuerte.
21 And it was that they feared the midwives God and he appointed for them households.
Y como las parteras que cuidaban a las madres hebreas tenían temor de Dios, las prosperó con familias.
22 And he commanded Pharaoh to all people his saying every son born the River towards you will throw him and every daughter you will let live!
Y Faraón dio orden a todo su pueblo, diciendo: Todo hijo que nazca será echado al río, y toda hija podrá seguir viviendo.
