Exodus 1
1 And these [are] [the] names of [the] sons of Israel who went Egypt towards with Jacob everyone and household his they went.
ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ τῶν εἰσπεπορευμένων εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἅμα Ιακωβ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτῶν ἕκαστος πανοικίᾳ αὐτῶν εἰσήλθοσαν
2 Reuben Simeon Levi and Judah.

3 Issachar Zebulun and Benjamin.
Ισσαχαρ Ζαβουλων καὶ Βενιαμιν
4 Dan and Naphtali Gad and Asher.
Δαν καὶ Νεφθαλι Γαδ καὶ Ασηρ
5 And it was every person [who] came out of [the] thigh of Jacob seventy person[s] and Joseph he was in Egypt.
Ιωσηφ δὲ ἦν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἦσαν δὲ πᾶσαι ψυχαὶ ἐξ Ιακωβ πέντε καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα
6 And he died Joseph and all brothers his and all the generation that.
ἐτελεύτησεν δὲ Ιωσηφ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ γενεὰ ἐκείνη
7 And [the] people of Israel they were fruitful and they swarmed and they multiplied and they became mighty with muchness muchness and it was filled the land with them.
οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ηὐξήθησαν καὶ ἐπληθύνθησαν καὶ χυδαῖοι ἐγένοντο καὶ κατίσχυον σφόδρα σφόδρα ἐπλήθυνεν δὲ ἡ γῆ αὐτούς
8 And he arose a king new over Egypt who not he knew Joseph.
ἀνέστη δὲ βασιλεὺς ἕτερος ἐπ’ Αἴγυπτον ὃς οὐκ ᾔδει τὸν Ιωσηφ
9 And he said to people his here! [the] people of [the] people of Israel [is] numerous and mighty more than us.
εἶπεν δὲ τῷ ἔθνει αὐτοῦ ἰδοὺ τὸ γένος τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ μέγα πλῆθος καὶ ἰσχύει ὑπὲρ ἡμᾶς
10 Give! let us deal wisely to it lest it should increase and it will be that they will happen war and it will be added also it to [those who] hate us and it will fight against us and it will go up from the land.
δεῦτε οὖν κατασοφισώμεθα αὐτούς μήποτε πληθυνθῇ καί ἡνίκα ἂν συμβῇ ἡμῖν πόλεμος προστεθήσονται καὶ οὗτοι πρὸς τοὺς ὑπεναντίους καὶ ἐκπολεμήσαντες ἡμᾶς ἐξελεύσονται ἐκ τῆς γῆς
11 And they appointed over it overseers of slave gangs so as to afflict it with forced labor their and it built cities of storage for Pharaoh Pithom and Rameses.
καὶ ἐπέστησεν αὐτοῖς ἐπιστάτας τῶν ἔργων ἵνα κακώσωσιν αὐτοὺς ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν πόλεις ὀχυρὰς τῷ Φαραω τήν τε Πιθωμ καὶ Ραμεσση καὶ Ων ἥ ἐστιν Ἡλίου πόλις
12 And just as people afflicted it so it increased and so it spread and people felt dread because of [the] people of Israel.
καθότι δὲ αὐτοὺς ἐταπείνουν τοσούτῳ πλείους ἐγίνοντο καὶ ἴσχυον σφόδρα σφόδρα καὶ ἐβδελύσσοντο οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ
13 And they compelled to labor Egypt [the] people of Israel with harshness.
καὶ κατεδυνάστευον οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ βίᾳ
14 And they made bitter lives their with labor hard in mortar and in bricks and in all labor in the field all labor their which they labored by them with harshness.
καὶ κατωδύνων αὐτῶν τὴν ζωὴν ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις τοῖς σκληροῖς τῷ πηλῷ καὶ τῇ πλινθείᾳ καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς ἔργοις τοῖς ἐν τοῖς πεδίοις κατὰ πάντα τὰ ἔργα ὧν κατεδουλοῦντο αὐτοὺς μετὰ βίας
15 And he said [the] king of Egypt to the midwives Hebrew who [the] name of the one [was] Shiphrah and [the] name of the second [was] Puah.
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Αἰγυπτίων ταῖς μαίαις τῶν Εβραίων τῇ μιᾷ αὐτῶν ᾗ ὄνομα Σεπφωρα καὶ τὸ ὄνομα τῆς δευτέρας Φουα
16 And he said when assist as midwife you the Hebrew [women] and you will look at the stones if [is] a son he and you will kill him and if [is] a daughter she and she will live.
καὶ εἶπεν ὅταν μαιοῦσθε τὰς Εβραίας καὶ ὦσιν πρὸς τῷ τίκτειν ἐὰν μὲν ἄρσεν ᾖ ἀποκτείνατε αὐτό ἐὰν δὲ θῆλυ περιποιεῖσθε αὐτό
17 And they feared the midwives God and not they did just as he had spoken to them [the] king of Egypt and they let live the [male] children.
ἐφοβήθησαν δὲ αἱ μαῖαι τὸν θεὸν καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησαν καθότι συνέταξεν αὐταῖς ὁ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐζωογόνουν τὰ ἄρσενα
18 And he summoned [the] king of Egypt the midwives and he said to them why? have you done the thing this and have you let live? the [male] children.
ἐκάλεσεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου τὰς μαίας καὶ εἶπεν αὐταῖς τί ὅτι ἐποιήσατε τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο καὶ ἐζωογονεῖτε τὰ ἄρσενα
19 And they said the midwives to Pharaoh for not [are] like the women Egyptian the Hebrew [women] that [are] vigorous they before she comes to them the midwife and they give birth.
εἶπαν δὲ αἱ μαῖαι τῷ Φαραω οὐχ ὡς γυναῖκες Αἰγύπτου αἱ Εβραῖαι τίκτουσιν γὰρ πρὶν ἢ εἰσελθεῖν πρὸς αὐτὰς τὰς μαίας καὶ ἔτικτον
20 And he did good God to the midwives and it increased the people and they became mighty exceedingly.
εὖ δὲ ἐποίει ὁ θεὸς ταῖς μαίαις καὶ ἐπλήθυνεν ὁ λαὸς καὶ ἴσχυεν σφόδρα
21 And it was that they feared the midwives God and he appointed for them households.
ἐπειδὴ ἐφοβοῦντο αἱ μαῖαι τὸν θεόν ἐποίησαν ἑαυταῖς οἰκίας
22 And he commanded Pharaoh to all people his saying every son born the River towards you will throw him and every daughter you will let live!
συνέταξεν δὲ Φαραω παντὶ τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ λέγων πᾶν ἄρσεν ὃ ἐὰν τεχθῇ τοῖς Εβραίοις εἰς τὸν ποταμὸν ῥίψατε καὶ πᾶν θῆλυ ζωογονεῖτε αὐτό
