Exodus 1
1 And these [are] [the] names of [the] sons of Israel who went Egypt towards with Jacob everyone and household his they went.
Tato jsou pak jména synů Izraelských, kteříž vešli do Egypta s Jákobem; každý s čeledí svou přišel:
2 Reuben Simeon Levi and Judah.
Ruben, Simeon, Léví a Juda;
3 Issachar Zebulun and Benjamin.
Izachar, Zabulon a Beniamin;
4 Dan and Naphtali Gad and Asher.
Dan a Neftalím, Gád a Asser.
5 And it was every person [who] came out of [the] thigh of Jacob seventy person[s] and Joseph he was in Egypt.
A bylo všech osob pošlých z bedr Jákobových sedmdesáte duší; Jozef pak byl v Egyptě.
6 And he died Joseph and all brothers his and all the generation that.
I umřel Jozef a všickni bratří jeho, a všecken ten rod.
7 And [the] people of Israel they were fruitful and they swarmed and they multiplied and they became mighty with muchness muchness and it was filled the land with them.
Synové pak Izraelští rozmnožili se a rodili se v hojnosti; a rozhojňovali se, i zsilili se náramně velmi, a naplněna jest jimi země.
8 And he arose a king new over Egypt who not he knew Joseph.
V tom povstal král nový v Egyptě, kterýž neznal Jozefa.
9 And he said to people his here! [the] people of [the] people of Israel [is] numerous and mighty more than us.
Ten řekl lidu svému: Aj, lid synů Izraelských jest mnohý a silnější nad nás.
10 Give! let us deal wisely to it lest it should increase and it will be that they will happen war and it will be added also it to [those who] hate us and it will fight against us and it will go up from the land.
Nuže, opatrně sobě počínejme před ním, aby se nerozmohl; a když by přišla válka, aby se nepřipojil i on k nepřátelům našim, a nebojoval proti nám, a nevyšel z země.
11 And they appointed over it overseers of slave gangs so as to afflict it with forced labor their and it built cities of storage for Pharaoh Pithom and Rameses.
Protož ustanovili nad ním úředníky, kteříž by plat vybírali, aby je trápili břemeny svými. I vystavěl lid Izraelský Faraonovi města skladů, Fiton a Ramesses.
12 And just as people afflicted it so it increased and so it spread and people felt dread because of [the] people of Israel.
Ale čím více trápili jej, tím více rostl a tím se více rozmáhal. I vzali sobě syny Izraelské v ošklivost.
13 And they compelled to labor Egypt [the] people of Israel with harshness.
A tak podrobovali Egyptští syny Izraelské v službu těžkou.
14 And they made bitter lives their with labor hard in mortar and in bricks and in all labor in the field all labor their which they labored by them with harshness.
A k hořkosti přivodili život jejich robotami těžkými, v hlině a cihlách a ve všelijakém díle na poli, mimo všelikou potřebu svou, k níž práce jejich užívali nenáležitě a bez lítosti.
15 And he said [the] king of Egypt to the midwives Hebrew who [the] name of the one [was] Shiphrah and [the] name of the second [was] Puah.
I poručil král Egyptský babám Hebrejským, z nichž jedna sloula Sefora a druhá Fua,
16 And he said when assist as midwife you the Hebrew [women] and you will look at the stones if [is] a son he and you will kill him and if [is] a daughter she and she will live.
A řekl: Když budete pomáhati ženám Hebrejským při porodu, a uzříte, že již rodí, byl-li by syn, zabíte ho, pakli dcera, tedy ať jest živa.
17 And they feared the midwives God and not they did just as he had spoken to them [the] king of Egypt and they let live the [male] children.
Bály se pak ty baby Boha, a nečinily tak, jakž jim poručil král Egyptský, ale živých nechávaly pacholíků.
18 And he summoned [the] king of Egypt the midwives and he said to them why? have you done the thing this and have you let live? the [male] children.
Povolav tedy bab král Egyptský, mluvil jim: Proč jste to učinily, že jste živé zachovaly pacholíky?
19 And they said the midwives to Pharaoh for not [are] like the women Egyptian the Hebrew [women] that [are] vigorous they before she comes to them the midwife and they give birth.
I odpověděly baby Faraonovi: Nejsou ženy Hebrejské jako ženy Egyptské; nebo ony jsou silnějšího přirození. Dříve než přijde k nim baba, ony porodí.
20 And he did good God to the midwives and it increased the people and they became mighty exceedingly.
I učinil dobře Bůh těm babám. A rozmnožen jest lid, a zsilili se velmi.
21 And it was that they feared the midwives God and he appointed for them households.
Stalo se pak proto, že se bály baby ty Boha, vzdělal jim domy.
22 And he commanded Pharaoh to all people his saying every son born the River towards you will throw him and every daughter you will let live!
I přikázal Farao všemu lidu svému, řka: Každého syna, kterýž se narodí, do řeky uvrzte; každé pak dcery nechte živé.
