< Exodus 2 >
1 And he went a man from [the] house of Levi and he took [the] daughter of Levi.
Alò, yon mesye lakay Lévi te marye avèk yon fi Lévi.
2 And she conceived the woman and she bore a son and she saw him that [was] good he and she hid him three months.
Fanm nan te vin ansent, li te fè yon fis. Lè l te wè ke li te byen bèl, li te kache li pandan twa mwa.
3 And not she was able still to hide him and she took for him a basket of papyrus and sealed it she with bitumen and with pitch and she put in it the child and she put [it] among the rush[es] at [the] bank of the River.
Men lè li pa t kab kache li ankò, li te pran yon panyen wozo, e li te kouvri li avèk goudwon ak gòm rezen. Konsa, li te mete pitit la ladann, e te plase li pami wozo yo akote lariviyè Nil lan.
4 And she stood sister his from a distance to know what? will it be done to him.
Sè li a te kanpe nan yon distans, pou wè kisa ki kab rive li.
5 And she went down [the] daughter of Pharaoh to bathe at the River and female attendants her [were] walking on [the] side of the River and she saw the basket in among the rush[es] and she sent maid her (and fetched it she *L(abh)*)
Fi a Farawon an te vin desann pou benyen nan Nil lan avèk sèvant li yo e yo t ap mache akote Nil lan. Konsa, li te wè panyen an pami wozo yo. Li te voye sèvant li an pou pote bay li.
6 and she opened [it] and she saw him the child and there! a lad [was] crying and she had compassion on him and she said [is] one of [the] children of the Hebrews this.
Lè li te ouvri li; li te wè pitit la, e gade byen, li t ap kriye. Konsa, li te gen pitye pou li e te di: “Sa se youn nan pitit Ebre yo.”
7 And she said sister his to [the] daughter of Pharaoh ¿ will I go and will I call? for you a woman a suckling-nurse from the Hebrew [women] so she may suckle for you the child.
Epi sè li a te di a fi Farawon an: “Èske mwen ta dwe al chache yon fanm nouris pami fanm Ebre yo pou ou pou l ka ba li tete pou ou?”
8 And she said to her [the] daughter of Pharaoh go and she went the young woman and she called [the] mother of the child.
Epi fi a Farawon an te di li: “Ale”.
9 And she said to her [the] daughter of Pharaoh take the child this and suckle him for me and I I will pay wage[s] your and she took the woman the child and she suckled him.
Epi fi a Farawon an te di li: “Pran pitit sa a ale, bay li tete pou mwen e mwen va ba ou salè ou.” Epi fanm nan te pran pitit la e li te bay li tete.
10 And he grew up the child and she took him to [the] daughter of Pharaoh and he became to her a son and she called name his Moses and she said that from the water I drew him.
Pitit la te grandi, li te pote li bay fi a Farawon an, li te devni fis li. Li te bay li non Moïse, e li te di: “Akoz ke m te rale li sòti nan dlo a.”
11 And it was - in the days those and he grew up Moses and he went out to brothers his and he looked on forced labor their and he saw a man Egyptian striking a man Hebrew one of brothers his.
Li te vin rive nan jou sa yo ke lè Moïse te fin grandi, li te sòti vè frè li yo, e li te wè fàdo yo. Li te wè yon Ejipsyen ki t ap bat yon Ebre, youn nan frè li yo.
12 And he turned thus and thus and he saw that there not [was] a person and he struck down the Egyptian and he hid him in the sand.
Alò li te gade toupatou e lè l pa t wè pèsòn, li te touye li, e li te kache li nan sab la.
13 And he went out on the day second and there! two men Hebrew [were] struggling together and he said to the guilty [one] why? are you striking companion your.
Li te sòti nan pwochen jou a, e gade, de Ebre t ap goumen youn avèk lòt. Li te di a sa ki gen tò a: “Poukisa ou ap frape pwochen ou an?”
14 And he said who? did he appoint you to a man a chief and a judge over us ¿ to kill me [are] you saying just as you killed the Egyptian and he was afraid Moses and he thought truly it is known the matter.
Men li te di: “Kilès ki te fè ou prens, oswa jij sou nou? Èske ou gen entansyon vin touye mwen jan ou te touye Ejipsyen an?”
15 And he heard Pharaoh the matter this and he sought to kill Moses and he fled Moses from before Pharaoh and he dwelt in [the] land of Midian and he sat at the well.
16 And [belonged] to [the] priest of Midian seven daughters and they came and they drew and they filled the drinking troughs to water [the] flock of father their.
Alò, prèt Madian an te gen sèt fi. Yo te vin rale dlo e te ranpli veso yo pou bay bann mouton papa yo dlo.
17 And they came the shepherds and they drove away them and he arose Moses and he delivered them and he watered flock their.
18 And they went to Reuel father their and he said why? did you hurry to come this day.
Lè yo te vin kote Réuel, papa yo, li te di: “Poukisa nou gen tan tounen tèlman vit konsa jodi a?”
19 And they said a man Egyptian he rescued us from [the] hand of the shepherds and also carefully he drew for us and he watered the flock.
Yo te di: “Yon Ejipsyen te delivre nou anba men a bèje yo, e anplis, li te menm rale dlo pou nou e te bay bann mouton an dlo.”
20 And he said to daughters his and where [is]? he why? this have you left the man invite him so he may eat food.
Envite li vin manje yon bagay.”
21 And he was willing Moses to dwell with the man and he gave Zipporah daughter his to Moses.
Moïse te dakò rete avèk mesye a, e li te bay fi li, Séphora a Moïse.
22 And she bore a son and he called name his Gershom for he said a sojourner I have become in a land foreign.
Konsa, li te bay nesans a yon fis e li te nonmen li Guerschom, paske li te di: “Mwen te yon vwayajè nan yon peyi etranje.”
23 And it was in the days many those and he died [the] king of Egypt and they groaned [the] people of Israel from the labor and they cried out and it went up cry for help their to God from the labor.
Alò li te vin rive nan jou sa yo ke wa Égypte la te mouri. Epi fis Israël yo t ap fè gwo souf e t ap kriye akoz esklavaj la.
24 And he heard God groaning their and he remembered God covenant his with Abraham with Isaac and with Jacob.
25 And he saw God [the] people of Israel and he knew God.
Bondye te wè fis Israël yo, e Bondye te konprann.
