Exodus 19
1 In the month third of [the] going out of [the] people of Israel from [the] land of Egypt on the day this they came [the] wilderness of Sinai.
Sesudah itu bangsa Israel meninggalkan Rafidim, dan pada tanggal satu bulan ketiga setelah mereka meninggalkan Mesir, tibalah mereka di padang gurun Sinai. Mereka berkemah di kaki Gunung Sinai,
2 And they set out from Rephidim and they came [the] wilderness of Sinai and they encamped in the wilderness and it encamped there Israel before the mountain.
3 And Moses he went up to God and he called to him Yahweh from the mountain saying thus you will say to [the] house of Jacob so you may tell to [the] people of Israel.
dan Musa mendaki gunung itu untuk bertemu dengan Allah. TUHAN berbicara kepada Musa dari gunung itu dan menyuruh dia mengumumkan kepada orang Israel, keturunan Yakub,
4 You you have seen [that] which I did to Egypt and I carried you on wings of eagles and I brought you to myself.
"Kamu sudah melihat apa yang Kulakukan terhadap orang Mesir, dan bagaimana Aku membawa kamu kepada-Ku di tempat ini dengan kuasa besar, seperti burung rajawali membawa anaknya di atas sayapnya.
5 And therefore certainly [if] you will listen to voice my and you will keep covenant my and you will be of me a possession from all the peoples for [belongs] to me all the earth.
Sekarang kalau kamu taat kepada-Ku dan setia kepada perjanjian-Ku, kamu akan Kujadikan umat-Ku sendiri. Seluruh bumi adalah milik-Ku, tetapi kamu akan menjadi milik kesayangan-Ku,
6 And you you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a nation holy these [are] the words which you will speak to [the] people of Israel.
khusus untuk diri-Ku sendiri, dan kamu akan melayani Aku sebagai imam-imam."
7 And he went Moses and he summoned [the] elders of the people and he set before them all the words these which he had commanded him Yahweh.
Maka turunlah Musa dan memanggil para pemimpin supaya berkumpul, lalu diceritakannya kepada mereka segala sesuatu yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepadanya.
8 And they answered all the people together and they said all that he has spoken Yahweh we will do and he brought back Moses [the] words of the people to Yahweh.
Mereka semua menjawab dengan serentak, "Kami mau melakukan segala yang dikatakan TUHAN," dan jawaban itu disampaikan Musa kepada TUHAN. Lalu kata TUHAN kepada Musa, "Aku akan datang kepadamu terselubung dalam awan yang tebal; orang-orang akan mendengar Aku berbicara kepadamu, dan mulai saat itu mereka akan selalu percaya kepadamu.
9 And he said Yahweh to Moses here! I [am] about to come to you in [the] dark cloud of the cloud in order that may hear the people when speak I with you and also in you they will trust for ever and he told Moses [the] words of the people to Yahweh.
10 And he said Yahweh to Moses go to the people and you will consecrate them this day and tomorrow and they will wash clothes their.
Sekarang jumpailah orang-orang itu, dan suruhlah mereka hari ini dan besok menyiapkan diri untuk beribadat. Mereka harus mencuci pakaian mereka.
11 And they will be prepared for the day third for - on the day third he will come down Yahweh to [the] eyes of all the people on [the] mountain of Sinai.
Lusa mereka harus sudah siap. Pada hari itu Aku akan turun di atas Gunung Sinai, tempat semua orang dapat melihat Aku.
12 And you will set a boundary for the people all around saying take heed to yourselves to go up on the mountain and to touch edge its every [one who] touches the mountain certainly he will be put to death.
Buatlah tanda di sekeliling gunung ini sebagai batas yang tak boleh dilewati bangsa itu. Laranglah bangsa itu mendaki gunung, bahkan mendekatinya. Barangsiapa melewati batasnya, akan dihukum mati;
13 Not it will touch him a hand for certainly he will be stoned to death or certainly he will be shot whether an animal or a human not it will live when sounds the ram's horn they they will go up on the mountain.
orang itu harus dilempari batu atau dipanah, dan tak boleh disentuh. Ini berlaku baik untuk manusia maupun untuk hewan; semua yang melewati batas itu harus dihukum mati. Pada waktu terdengar bunyi panjang dari trompet, orang-orang itu harus mendaki gunung."
14 And he went down Moses from the mountain to the people and he consecrated the people and they washed clothes their.
Kemudian Musa turun dari gunung dan menyuruh orang-orang itu bersiap-siap untuk beribadat. Katanya, "Lusa kamu harus siap, dan sementara ini kamu tak boleh bersetubuh." Lalu bangsa itu mulai bersiap-siap dan mencuci pakaian mereka.
15 And he said to the people be prepared to three days may not you draw near to a woman.
16 And it was on the day third when came the morning and it was thunder claps and lightning and a cloud heavy on the mountain and [the] sound of a ram's horn strong very and it trembled all the people which [was] in the camp.
Pada hari yang ketiga, diwaktu pagi, ada guruh dan petir. Awan yang tebal muncul di atas gunung dan terdengarlah bunyi trompet yang sangat keras. Semua orang di perkemahan gemetar ketakutan.
17 And he led out Moses the people to meet God from the camp and they stood at [the] lower part of the mountain.
Musa membawa mereka keluar untuk bertemu dengan Allah, lalu mereka berdiri di kaki gunung itu.
18 And [the] mountain of Sinai it was smoking all of it because that he had come down on it Yahweh in fire and it went up smoke its like [the] smoke of furnace and it trembled all the mountain exceedingly.
Seluruh Gunung Sinai ditutupi asap, karena TUHAN turun ke atasnya dalam api. Asap itu mengepul seperti asap dari tempat pembakaran, dan seluruh gunung goncang dengan sangat.
19 And it was [the] sound of the ram's horn going and strong very Moses he spoke and God he answered him with a voice.
Bunyi trompet menjadi semakin keras. Musa berbicara, dan Allah menjawabnya dengan guruh.
20 And he came down Yahweh on [the] mountain of Sinai to [the] top of the mountain and he summoned Yahweh Moses to [the] top of the mountain and he went up Moses.
TUHAN turun di atas puncak Gunung Sinai, dan memanggil Musa untuk datang ke puncak gunung itu. Lalu Musa mendaki,
21 And he said Yahweh to Moses go down warn the people lest they should break through to Yahweh to see and it will fall of it many.
dan TUHAN berkata kepadanya, "Turunlah dan ingatkan orang-orang itu bahwa mereka tak boleh melewati batas untuk datang melihat Aku. Kalau mereka melanggarnya juga, banyak di antara mereka akan mati.
22 And also the priests who draw near to Yahweh they will make themselves holy lest he should break out against them Yahweh.
Bahkan imam-imam yang mau mendekati Aku, harus menyucikan diri; kalau tidak, mereka akan Kuhukum."
23 And he said Moses to Yahweh not it is able the people to go up to [the] mountain of Sinai for you you warned us saying set a boundary for the mountain and you will consecrate it.
Kata Musa kepada TUHAN, "Orang-orang itu tak dapat naik, sebab Engkau memerintahkan kami untuk menganggap gunung ini sebagai tempat yang suci dan memperhatikan batas di sekelilingnya."
24 And he said to him Yahweh go go down and you will come up you and Aaron with you and the priests and the people may not they break through to come up to Yahweh lest he should break out against them.
Jawab TUHAN, "Turunlah, lalu kembalilah ke sini bersama Harun. Tetapi imam-imam dan rakyat tak boleh melewati batas untuk datang kepada-Ku. Kalau mereka melewatinya, mereka akan Kuhukum."
25 And he went down Moses to the people and he spoke to them.
Lalu turunlah Musa menemui bangsa itu dan disampaikannya pesan TUHAN kepada mereka.
