Exodus 16
1 And they set out from Elim and they came all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel to [the] wilderness of Sin which [is] between Elim and between Sinai on [the] fif-teen day of the month second of going out their from [the] land of Egypt.
Nadat heel de gemeenschap van Israël van Elim was opgebroken, trokken zij naar de woestijn van Sin, die tussen Elim en de Sinaï ligt; het was op de vijftiende dag van de tweede maand na hun uittocht uit Egypte.
2 (And they grumbled *Q(K)*) all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel on Moses and on Aaron in the wilderness.
Weer begon heel de gemeente van Israël in de woestijn tegen Moses en Aäron te morren,
3 And they said to them [the] people of Israel who? will he give died we by [the] hand of Yahweh in [the] land of Egypt when sat we at [the] pot of the meat when ate we food to abundance for you have brought out us into the wilderness this to put to death all the assembly this by hunger.
en de kinderen Israëls zeiden tot hen: Waren we maar in Egypte door de hand van Jahweh gestorven, toen we bij de vleespotten zaten en volop brood konden eten; waarachtig, ge hebt ons naar deze woestijn gebracht, om heel deze menigte van honger te doen sterven.
4 And he said Yahweh to Moses here I [am] about to rain down for you bread from the heavens and it will go out the people and they will gather a matter of a day in day its so that I should put to [the] test it ¿ will it walk in law my or? not.
Toen sprak Jahweh tot Moses: Zie, Ik zal voor u brood uit de hemel doen regenen; en het volk zal iedere dag zijn dagelijks deel kunnen rapen. Maar Ik stel het tegelijk op de proef of het mijn Wet wil beleven of niet:
5 And it will be on the day sixth and they will prepare [that] which they will bring and it will be double to [that] which they will gather day - day.
Op de zesde dag moeten ze het dubbele meebrengen en toebereiden, van wat zij iedere dag rapen.
6 And he said Moses and Aaron to all [the] people of Israel evening and you will know that Yahweh he brought out you from [the] land of Egypt.
Nu spraken Moses en Aäron tot al de Israëlieten: Hedenavond zult ge weten, dat Jahweh u uit Egypte heeft geleid,
7 And morning and you will see [the] glory of Yahweh because has heard he grumblings your on Yahweh and [are] we what? that (you will cause to grumble *Q(K)*) on us.
en morgen zult ge de glorie van Jahweh aanschouwen, ofschoon Jahweh het gemor tegen Hem heeft gehoord. Want wat betekenen wij, dat gij zoudt morren tegen ons.
8 And he said Moses when gives Yahweh to you in the evening meat to eat and bread in the morning to be satisfied because has heard Yahweh grumblings your which you [are] grumbling on him and [are] we what? not [are] on us grumblings your for on Yahweh.
En Moses vervolgde: Als Jahweh u vanavond vlees te eten geeft, en morgenvroeg volop brood, dan is het ondanks uw gemor tegen Jahweh, dat Hij heeft gehoord! Want wat betekenen wij? Niet tegen ons is uw morren maar tegen Jahweh.
9 And he said Moses to Aaron say to all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel draw near before Yahweh for he has heard grumblings your.
En Moses zeide tot Aäron: Beveel heel de gemeenschap van Israël: Treedt voor het aanschijn van Jahweh; want Hij heeft uw morren gehoord.
10 And it was when spoke Aaron to all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel and they turned to the wilderness and there! [the] glory of Yahweh it appeared in the cloud.
Toen Aäron dit bevel had overgebracht, keerde heel de gemeenschap van Israël zich in de richting van de woestijn; en zie, daar verscheen in de wolk de glorie van Jahweh!
11 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
En Jahweh sprak tot Moses:
12 I have heard [the] grumblings of [the] people of Israel speak to them saying between the two evenings you will eat meat and in the morning you will be satisfied bread and you will know that I [am] Yahweh God your.
Ik heb het morren van Israëls kinderen gehoord. Zeg hun nu: Bij het vallen van de avond zult ge vlees kunnen eten, en morgenvroeg volop brood; dan zult ge weten, dat Ik, Jahweh, uw God ben!
13 And it was in the evening and it came up the quail and it covered the camp and in the morning it was [the] layer of the dew around the camp.
En tegen de avond kwamen er kwartels aangevlogen, die de legerplaats bedekten. Des morgens viel er dauw rondom de legerplaats;
14 And it went up [the] layer of dew and there! [was] on [the] surface of the wilderness thin [stuff] flake-like thin [stuff] like frost on the ground.
toen de dauw, die gevallen was, optrok, lag daar over de bodem van de woestijn een dunne korrelige laag, fijn als rijp.
15 And they saw [the] people of Israel and they said each to brother his what? [is] it for not they knew what? [was] it and he said Moses to them it [is] the bread which he has given Yahweh to you to food.
Toen de Israëlieten het zagen, zeiden zij tot elkander: Wat is dat? Want ze wisten niet, wat het was. Maar Moses sprak: Dit is het brood, dat Jahweh u te eten geeft.
16 This [is] the word which he commands Yahweh gather some of it everyone to [the] mouth of food his an omer for the head [the] number of people your everyone for [those] who [are] in tent his you will take.
En nu beveelt Jahweh: Laat iedereen ervan rapen, wat hij nodig heeft; een ómer per hoofd moet ge halen, naar het aantal personen, dat in uw tent woont.
17 And they did so [the] people of Israel and they gathered [it] the [one who] made much and the [one who] made little.
De Israëlieten deden dat. De een raapte meer, de ander minder.
18 And they measured [it] by the omer and not he had a surplus the [one who] made much and the [one who] made little not he had a lack everyone to [the] mouth of food his they had gathered.
Maar toen ze het met de ómer maten, had hij, die meer had geraapt, niet te veel, en hij, die minder had geraapt, niet te weinig: iedereen had geraapt, wat hij nodig had.
19 And he said Moses to them everyone may not him leave over any of it until morning.
En Moses beval hun: Niemand mag er iets van tot morgen bewaren.
20 And not they listened to Moses and they left over people some of it until morning and it became rotten worms and it stank and he was angry towards them Moses.
Maar toen sommigen niet naar Moses luisterden, en er van tot de volgende morgen bewaarden, was het bedorven; er zaten wormen in, en het stonk. Daarom werd Moses vertoornd op hen.
21 And they gathered it in the morning in the morning everyone according to [the] mouth of food his and it was warm the sun and it melted.
Zo raapten zij iedere morgen bijeen, wat iedereen nodig had; want als de zon warm werd, smolt het weg.
22 And it was - on the day sixth they gathered bread of double two omer[s] for the one and they came all [the] leaders of the congregation and they told to Moses.
Maar op de zesde dag raapten zij een dubbele hoeveelheid bijeen, twee ómer per man. En toen alle leiders der gemeenschap het aan Moses kwamen vertellen,
23 And he said to them it [is that] which he said Yahweh a sabbath observance a sabbath of holiness to Yahweh [is] tomorrow [that] which you will bake bake and [that] which you will boil boil and all the surplus leave for yourselves for keeping until the morning.
gaf deze ten antwoord: Dit is het juist, wat Jahweh gezegd heeft: Morgen is het een rustdag, een heilige sabbat voor Jahweh! Ge moogt nu bakken zoveel ge wilt, en koken zoveel ge wilt: en wat er overschiet, bewaart dat tot morgen.
24 And they left it until the morning just as he had commanded Moses and not it stank and a maggot not it was in it.
Zij bewaarden het dus tot de volgende dag, zoals Moses hun had bevolen; maar nu stonk het niet en was het niet bedorven.
25 And he said Moses eat it this day for [is] a sabbath this day to Yahweh this day not you will find it in the field.
En Moses sprak: Hier moet ge heden van eten; want vandaag is het sabbat ter ere van Jahweh; vandaag zult ge dus buiten niets vinden.
26 Six days you will gather it and on the day seventh a sabbath not it will be in it.
Zes dagen kunt ge inzameling houden, maar op de zevende dag is het sabbat, dan is er niets.
27 And it was on the day seventh they went out some of the people to gather [it] and not they found [it].
Toen dan ook op de zevende dag sommigen van het volk toch naar buiten gingen, om het te rapen, vonden zij niets.
28 And he said Yahweh to Moses until when? have you refused to keep commandments my and laws my.
En Jahweh sprak tot Moses: Hoelang weigert ge nog mijn geboden en mijn wetten te onderhouden?
29 Consider that Yahweh he has given to you the sabbath there-fore he [is] giving to you on the day sixth bread of two days remain - everyone in place his may not him go out anyone from place his on the day seventh.
Ziet, omdat Jahweh voor u de sabbat heeft vastgesteld, daarom geeft Hij u op de zesde dag brood voor twee dagen. Op de zevende dag blijve dus iedereen thuis, en mag niemand zijn woonplaats verlaten.
30 And they rested the people on the day seventh.
Zo hield het volk op de zevende dag sabbat.
31 And they called [the] household of Israel name its manna and it [was] like [the] seed of coriander white and taste its [was] like a wafer with honey.
En de kinderen Israëls noemden het manna; het was wit als korianderzaad en het smaakte als honingkoek.
32 And he said Moses this [is] the word which he commands Yahweh [the] fullness of the omer of it [will be] for keeping to generations your so that - they may see the bread which I caused to eat you in the wilderness when brought out I you from [the] land of Egypt.
En Moses sprak: Zo heeft Jahweh bevolen! Vult één ómer daarmee, om het voor uw nageslacht te bewaren, opdat zij het brood mogen zien. dat Ik u in de woestijn tot spijs heb gegeven, toen Ik u uit het land van Egypte had geleid.
33 And he said Moses to Aaron take a jar one and put there [the] fullness of the omer manna and deposit it before Yahweh for keeping to generations your.
Daarom sprak Moses tot Aäron: Neem een kruik, doe daar een volle ómer manna in, en zet die voor het aanschijn van Jahweh, om het voor uw nageslacht te bewaren.
34 Just as he had commanded Yahweh to Moses and he deposited it Aaron before the testimony for keeping.
Aäron vulde dus een kruik met een volle ómer manna, zoals Jahweh Moses bevolen had, en zette die ter bewaring voor de ark des Verbonds neer.
35 And [the] people of Israel they ate the manna forty year[s] until came they into a land inhabited the manna they ate until came they to [the] border of [the] land of Canaan.
Veertig jaren lang bleven de kinderen Israëls het manna eten, tot zij in bewoonde streken kwamen; zij aten het manna tot ze de grenzen van het land Kanaän hadden bereikt.
36 And the omer [is] [the] tenth [part] of the ephah it.
De ómer is het tiende van een efa.
