< Exodus 15 >
1 Then he sang Moses and [the] people of Israel the song this to Yahweh and they said saying I will sing to Yahweh for certainly he is exalted [the] horse and rider its he has thrown in the sea.
Then Moses [Drawn out] and the children of Israel [God prevails] sang this song to Adonai, and said, “I will sing to Adonai, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.
2 [is] might My and strength Yahweh and he has become of me salvation this [is] God my and I will glorify him [the] God of father my and I will exalt him.
Yah is my strength and song. He has become my yishu'ah ·salvation·. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 Yahweh [is] a man of war Yahweh [is] name his.
Adonai is a man of war. Yahweh [He sustains breathing] is his name.
4 [the] chariots of Pharaoh and army his he has thrown in the sea and [the] choicest of officers his they have been sunk in [the] sea of reed[s].
He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea].
5 [the] deeps They have covered them they went down in [the] depths like a stone.
The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.
6 Right [hand] your O Yahweh [was] glorious in power right [hand] your O Yahweh it shattered [the] enemy.
Your right hand, Adonai, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Adonai, dashes the enemy in pieces.
7 And in [the] greatness of majesty your you threw down [those who] rose against you you sent forth anger your it consumed them like stubble.
In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.
8 And by [the] breath of nostrils your they were piled up [the] waters they stood up like a heap streams they congealed [the] deeps in [the] heart of [the] sea.
With the blast of your nostrils, the waters piled up! The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 He said [the] enemy I will pursue I will overtake I will divide [the] plunder it will be full of them self my I will draw sword my it will dispossess them hand my.
The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’
10 You blew with breath your it covered them [the] sea they sank like lead in [the] waters mighty.
You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
11 Who? [is] like you among the gods O Yahweh who? [is] like you glorious in holiness awesome of praises doing wonder[s].
Who is like you, Adonai, among the deities? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in tehilah ·praise song·, doing wonders?
12 You stretched out right [hand] your it swallowed up them [the] earth.
You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them.
13 You have guided in covenant loyalty your [the] people which you have redeemed you have led [them] by strength your to [the] abode of holiness your.
“You, in your chesed ·loving-kindness·, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.
14 They have heard peoples they tremble! anguish it has seized [the] inhabitants of Philistia.
The peoples have sh'ma ·heard obeyed·. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia.
15 Then they are terrified [the] chiefs of Edom [the] leaders of Moab it has seized them trembling they have melted away all [the] inhabitants of Canaan.
Then the chiefs of Edom [Red] were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab [From father]. All the inhabitants of Canaan [Humbled] have melted away.
16 It has fallen on them terror and dread on [the] greatness of strength your they have become still like stone until it has passed by people your O Yahweh until it has passed by [the] people which you have bought.
Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone— until your people pass over, Adonai, until the people pass over who you have purchased.
17 You will bring them and you will plant them on [the] mountain of inheritance your a place to dwell you you have made O Yahweh a sanctuary O Lord they have established hands your.
You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Adonai, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.
18 Yahweh - he will reign for ever and ever.
Adonai shall reign forever and ever.”
19 For it came [the] horse[s] of Pharaoh with chariot[s] his and with horsemen his in the sea and he brought back Yahweh over them [the] waters of the sea and [the] people of Israel they walked on the dry ground in [the] middle of the sea.
For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Adonai brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel [God prevails] walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.
20 And she took Miriam the prophetess [the] sister of Aaron the tambourine in hand her and they went out all the women behind her with tambourines and with dancing.
Miriam [Rebellion] the prophetess, the sister of Aaron [Light-bringer], took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.
21 And she sang to them Miriam sing to Yahweh for certainly he is exalted horse and rider its he has thrown in the sea.
Miriam [Rebellion] answered them, “Sing to Adonai, for he has triumphed. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
22 And he led out Moses Israel from [the] sea of reed[s] and they went out into [the] wilderness of Shur and they went three days in the wilderness and not they found water.
Moses [Drawn out] led Israel [God prevails] onward from the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea], and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23 And they came Marah towards and not they were able to drink waters from Marah for [were] bitter they there-fore someone called name its Marah.
When they came to Marah [Bitter], they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah [Bitter], for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah [Bitter].
24 And they grumbled the people on Moses saying what? will we drink.
The people murmured against Moses [Drawn out], saying, “What shall we drink?”
25 And he cried out to Yahweh and he showed him Yahweh a tree and he threw [it] into the waters and they became sweet the waters there he made for it a decree and a custom and there he put to [the] test it.
Then he cried to Adonai. Adonai showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and a judgement for them, and there he tested them;
26 And he said certainly [if] you will listen to [the] voice of - Yahweh God your and the right in view his you will do and you will give ear to commandments his and you will keep all decrees his any sickness which I put on Egypt not I will put on you for I [am] Yahweh [who] heals you.
and he said, “If you will sh'ma ·hear obey· sh'ma ·hear obey· Adonai your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his mitzvot ·instructions·, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery]; for I am I am Yahweh Rafa' [Yahweh your Physician, Yahweh your Healer].”
27 And they came Elim towards and [were] there two [plus] ten springs of water and seventy palm trees and they encamped there at the water.
They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
