Exodus 14
1 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant:
2 Speak to [the] people of Israel so they may turn back and they may encamp before Pi-hahiroth between Migdol and between the sea before Baal-Zephon opposite it you will encamp at the sea.
« Parle aux enfants d’Israël; qu’ils changent de direction et qu’ils viennent camper devant Phihahiroth, entre Magdalum et la mer, vis-à-vis de Beelséphon; vous camperez en face de ce lieu, près de la mer.
3 And he will say Pharaoh of [the] people of Israel [are] wandering in confusion they in the land it has shut on them the wilderness.
Pharaon dira des enfants d’Israël: Ils sont égarés dans le pays; le désert les tient enfermés.
4 And I will make strong [the] heart of Pharaoh and he will pursue after them and I will gain honor by Pharaoh and by all army his and they will know Egypt that I [am] Yahweh and they did so.
Et j’endurcirai le cœur de Pharaon, et il les poursuivra; je ferai éclater ma gloire dans Pharaon et dans toute son armée, et les Égyptiens sauront que je suis Yahweh. » Et les enfants d’Israël firent ainsi.
5 And it was told to [the] king of Egypt that it had fled the people and it was changed [the] heart of Pharaoh and servants his to the people and they said what? this have we done that we have let go Israel from serving us.
On annonça au roi d’Égypte que le peuple avait pris la fuite. Alors le cœur de Pharaon et celui de ses serviteurs furent changés à l’égard du peuple; ils dirent: « Qu’avons-nous fait de laisser aller Israël et de nous priver de ses services? »
6 And he harnessed chariot his and people his he took with him.
Et Pharaon fit atteler son char, et il prit son peuple avec lui.
7 And he took six hundred chariot[s] chosen and all [the] chariotry of Egypt and officers [were] over all of it.
Il prit six cents chars d’élite, et tous les chars de l’Égypte, et sur tous il y avait des chefs.
8 And he made strong Yahweh [the] heart of Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and he pursued after [the] people of Israel and [the] people of Israel [were] going out with a hand raised.
Yahweh endurcit le cœur de Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, et Pharaon poursuivit les enfants d’Israël; et les enfants d’Israël étaient sortis par une main élevée.
9 And they pursued Egypt after them and they overtook them encamped at the sea every horse of [the] chariotry of Pharaoh and horsemen his and army his at Pi-hahiroth before Baal-Zephon.
Les Égyptiens les poursuivirent donc et les atteignirent comme ils étaient campés près de la mer; tous les chevaux des chars de Pharaon, ses cavaliers et son armée les atteignirent près de Phihahiroth, vis-à-vis de Beelsephon.
10 And Pharaoh he drew near and they lifted up [the] people of Israel eyes their and there! Egypt - [was] marching after them and they were afraid exceedingly and they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh.
Pharaon approchait. Les enfants d’Israël levèrent les yeux, et voici, les Égyptiens étaient en marche derrière eux; et les enfants d’Israël, saisis d’une grande frayeur, poussèrent des cris vers Yahweh.
11 And they said to Moses ¿ because not there not [were] graves in Egypt you brought us to die in the wilderness what? this have you done to us by bringing out us from Egypt.
Ils dirent à Moïse: « N’y avait-il donc pas des sépulcres en Égypte, que tu nous aies menés mourir au désert? Que nous as-tu fait, en nous faisant sortir d’Égypte?
12 ¿ Not [is] this the word which we spoke to you in Egypt saying cease from us so let us serve Egypt for [is] better for us serving Egypt than to die us in the wilderness.
N’est-ce pas là ce que nous te disions en Égypte: Laisse-nous servir les Égyptiens, car il vaut mieux pour nous servir les Égyptiens que de mourir au désert? »
13 And he said Moses to the people may not you be afraid stand firm and see [the] deliverance of Yahweh which he will bring about for you this day for which you have seen Egypt this day not you will repeat to see them again until perpetuity.
Moïse répondit au peuple: « N’ayez point de crainte, restez en place, et regardez le salut que Yahweh va vous accorder en ce jour; car les Égyptiens que vous voyez aujourd’hui, vous ne les reverrez jamais.
14 Yahweh he will fight for you and you you will keep quiet!
Yahweh combattra pour vous, et vous, tenez-vous tranquilles. »
15 And he said Yahweh to Moses why? are you crying out to me speak to [the] people of Israel so they may set out.
Yahweh dit à Moïse: « Pourquoi cries-tu vers moi? Dis aux enfants d’Israël de se mettre en marche.
16 And you raise staff your and stretch out hand your over the sea and divide it so they may go [the] people of Israel in [the] middle of the sea on the dry ground.
Toi, lève ton bâton, étends ta main sur la mer, et divise-la; et les enfants d’Israël entreront au milieu de la mer à sec.
17 And I here I [am] about to make strong [the] heart of Egypt so they may go after them and I will gain honor by Pharaoh and by all army his by chariot[s] his and by horsemen his.
Et moi, je vais endurcir le cœur des Égyptiens pour qu’ils y entrent après eux, et je ferai éclater ma gloire dans Pharaon et dans toute son armée, ses chars et ses cavaliers.
18 And they will know Egypt that I [am] Yahweh when gain honor I by Pharaoh by chariot[s] his and by horsemen his.
Et les Égyptiens sauront que je suis Yahweh, quand j’aurai fait éclaté ma gloire sur Pharaon, ses chars et ses cavaliers. »
19 And he set out [the] angel of God who had been going before [the] camp of Israel and he went behind them and it set out [the] pillar of cloud from before them and it stood behind them.
L’ange de Dieu, qui marchait devant le camp d’Israël, partit et alla derrière eux; et la colonne de nuée qui les précédait, partit et se tint derrière eux.
20 And it went between - [the] camp of Egypt and between [the] camp of Israel and it was the cloud and the darkness and it lit up the night and not it drew near this to this all the night.
Elle vint se mettre entre le camp des Égyptiens et le camp d’Israël, et cette nuée était ténébreuse d’un côté, et de l’autre elle éclairait la nuit; et les deux camps n’approchèrent point l’un de l’autre pendant toute la nuit.
21 And he stretched out Moses hand his over the sea and he drove Yahweh - the sea by a wind an east wind strong all the night and he made the sea into dry ground and they were divided the waters.
Moïse ayant étendu sa main sur la mer, Yahweh refoula la mer par un vent impétueux d’orient qui souffla toute la nuit; il mit la mer à sec, et les eaux se divisèrent.
22 And they went [the] people of Israel in [the] middle of the sea on the dry ground and the water for them [was] a wall from right their and from left their.
Les enfants d’Israël entrèrent au milieu de la mer à sec, et les eaux formaient pour eux une muraille à leur droite et à leur gauche.
23 And they pursued Egypt and they went after them every horse of Pharaoh chariotry his and horsemen his into [the] middle of the sea.
Les Égyptiens les poursuivirent, et tous les chevaux de Pharaon, ses chars et ses cavaliers, entrèrent à leur suite au milieu de la mer.
24 And it was in [the] watch of the morning and he looked down Yahweh to [the] camp of Egypt in a pillar of fire and cloud and he confused [the] camp of Egypt.
À la veille du matin, Yahweh, dans la colonne de feu et de fumée, regarda le camp des Égyptiens, et jeta l’épouvante dans le camp des Égyptiens.
25 And he turned aside [the] wheel[s] of chariots its and he caused to drive it with difficulty and it said Egypt let me flee from before Israel for Yahweh [is] fighting for them (against Egypt. *LB(ha)*)
Il fit tomber les roues hors de leurs chars, qui n’avançaient plus qu’à grand’peine. Les Égyptiens dirent alors: « Fuyons devant Israël, car Yahweh combat pour lui contre l’Égypte. »
26 And he said Yahweh to Moses stretch out hand your over the sea so they may return the waters over Egypt over chariot[s] its and over horsemen its.
Yahweh dit à Moïse: « Étends ta main sur la mer, et les eaux reviendront sur les Égyptiens, sur leurs chars et sur leurs cavaliers. »
27 And he stretched out Moses hand his over the sea and it returned the sea to [the] turning of morning to normal [state] its and Egypt [were] fleeing to meet it and he shook off Yahweh Egypt in [the] middle of the sea.
Moïse étendit sa main sur la mer, et, au point du jour, la mer reprit sa place habituelle; les Égyptiens en fuyant la rencontrèrent, et Yahweh culbuta les Égyptiens au milieu de la mer.
28 And they returned the waters and they covered the chariot[s] and the horsemen to all [the] army of Pharaoh which had gone after them in the sea not it remained among them up to one.
Les eaux, en revenant, couvrirent les chars, les cavaliers et toute l’armée de Pharaon qui étaient entrés dans la mer à la suite des enfants d’Israël, et il n’en échappa pas un seul.
29 And [the] people of Israel they walked on the dry ground in [the] middle of the sea and the water for them [was] a wall from right their (and from left their *LB(ah)*)
Mais les enfants d’Israël avaient marché à sec au milieu de la mer, les eaux ayant formé pour eux une muraille à droite et à gauche.
30 and he delivered Yahweh on the day that Israel from [the] hand of Egypt and it saw Israel Egypt dead on [the] shore of the sea.
En ce jour-là, Yahweh délivra Israël de la main des Égyptiens, et Israël vit sur le rivage de la mer les Égyptiens qui étaient morts.
31 And it saw Israel the hand great which he had used Yahweh on Egypt and they feared the people Yahweh and they believed in Yahweh and in Moses servant his.
Israël vit la main puissante que Yahweh avait montrée à l’égard des Égyptiens; et le peuple craignit Yahweh, et il crut à Yahweh et à Moïse, son serviteur.
