< Exodus 12 >
1 And he said Yahweh to Moses and to Aaron in [the] land of Egypt saying.
Then the Lord spake to Moses and to Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
2 The month this for you [will be the] beginning of months [will be] first it for you of [the] months of the year.
This moneth shalbe vnto you the beginning of moneths: it shalbe to you the first moneth of the yere.
3 Speak to all [the] congregation of Israel saying on the ten of the month this so they may take for themselves everyone a lamb for a household of fathers a lamb for the household.
Speake ye vnto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth of this moneth let euery man take vnto him a lambe, according to the house of the fathers, a lambe for an house.
4 And if it will be [too] small the household for being for a lamb and he will take he and neighbor his near to house his by [the] number of people each one to [the] mouth of food his you will estimate on the lamb.
And if the housholde be too litle for the lambe, he shall take his neighbour, which is next vnto his house, according to the nomber of the persons: euery one of you, according to his eating shall make your count for the lambes,
5 A lamb unblemished male a son of a year it will be for you one of the lambs and one of the goats you will take.
Your lambe shalbe without blemish, a male of a yeere olde: ye shall take it of the lambes, or of the kiddes.
6 And it will be for you for safekeeping until [the] four-teen day of the month this and they will slaughter it all [the] assembly of [the] congregation of Israel between the two evenings.
And yee shall keepe it vntill the fourteenth day of this moneth: then al the multitude of the Congregation of Israel shall kill it at euen.
7 And they will take some of the blood and they will put [it] on [the] two the doorposts and on the lintels on the houses which they will eat it in them.
After, they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two postes, and on the vpper doore post of the houses where they shall eate it.
8 And they will eat the meat in the night this roasted of fire and unleavened bread with bitter herbs they will eat it.
And they shall eate the flesh the same night, roste with fire, and vnleauened bread: with sowre herbes they shall eate it.
9 May not you eat any of it raw and boiled being boiled in water that except roasted of fire head its with legs its and with entrails its.
Eate not thereof rawe, boyled nor sodden in water, but rost with fire, both his head, his feete, and his purtenance.
10 And not you will leave over any of it until morning and what is left over of it until morning with fire you will burn.
And ye shall reserue nothing of it vnto the morning: but that, which remaineth of it vnto the morowe, shall ye burne with fire.
11 And thus you will eat it loins your girded sandals your on feet your and staff your in hand your and you will eat it in haste [is] a passover it to Yahweh.
And thus shall yee eate it, Your loynes girded, your shoes on your feete, and your staues in your handes, and yee shall eate it in haste: for it is the Lords Passeouer.
12 And I will pass in [the] land of Egypt in the night this and I will strike every firstborn in [the] land of Egypt from humankind and unto livestock and on all [the] gods of Egypt I will do acts of judgment I [am] Yahweh.
For I will passe through the lande of Egypt the same night, and will smite all the first borne in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and I will execute iudgement vpon all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord.
13 And it will become the blood for you a sign on the houses where you [are] there and I will see the blood and I will pass over over you and not it will be among you a plague for destruction when strike I in [the] land of Egypt.
And the blood shalbe a token for you vpon the houses where ye are: so when I see the blood, I will passe ouer you, and the plague shall not be vpon you to destruction, when I smite the lande of Egypt.
14 And it will become the day this for you a memorial and you will celebrate a festival it a festival of Yahweh to generations your a statute of perpetuity you will celebrate as a festival it.
And this day shalbe vnto you a remembrance: and ye shall keepe it an holie feast vnto the Lord, throughout your generations: yee shall keepe it holie by an ordinance for euer.
15 Seven days unleavened bread you will eat surely on the day first you will remove leaven from houses your for - any [one who] eats leaven and he will be cut off the person that from Israel from [the] day first until [the] day seventh.
Seuen daies shall ye eat vnleauened bread, and in any case ye shall put away leauen the first day out of your houses: for whosoeuer eateth leauened bread from the first daie vntill the seuenth day, that person shalbe cut off from Israel.
16 And [will be] on the day first a convocation of holiness and on the day seventh a convocation of holiness it will be to you any work not it will be done on them only [that] which it will be eaten by every person it to only it it will be done by you.
And in the first day shalbe an holie assemblie: also in the seuenth day shalbe an holy assemblie vnto you: no worke shalbe done in them, saue about that which euery man must eate: that onely may ye do.
17 And you will keep the unleavened bread for on [the] substance of the day this I brought out hosts your from [the] land of Egypt and you will keep the day this to generations your a statute of perpetuity.
Ye shall keepe also the feast of vnleauened bread: for that same daye I will bring your armies out of the lande of Egypt: therefore ye shall obserue this day, throughout your posteritie, by an ordinance for euer.
18 In the first [month] on [the] four-teen day of the month in the evening you will eat unleavened bread until [the] day one and twenty of the month in the evening.
In the first moneth and the fourteenth day of the moneth at euen, yee shall eate vnleauened bread vnto the one and twentieth day of the moneth at euen.
19 Seven days leaven not it will be found in houses your for - any [one who] eats a thing leavened and he will be cut off the person that from [the] congregation of Israel in the sojourner and in [the] native-born of the land.
Seuen daies shall no leauen be founde in your houses: for whosoeuer eateth leauened bread, that person shalbe cut off from the Congregation of Israel: whether he bee a stranger, or borne in the land.
20 Any thing leavened not you will eat in all dwelling places your you will eat unleavened bread.
Ye shall eate no leauened bread: but in all your habitations shall ye eate vnleauened bread.
21 And he summoned Moses all [the] elders of Israel and he said to them draw and take for yourselves sheep to clans your and slaughter the passover.
Then Moses called all the Elders of Israel, and saide vnto them, Choose out and take you for euerie of your housholdes a lambe, and kill the Passeouer.
22 And you will take a bunch of hyssop and you will dip [it] in the blood which [is] in the basin and you will make touch the lintels and [the] two the doorposts some of the blood which [is] in the basin and you not you will go out anyone from [the] door of house his until morning.
And take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basen, and strike the lintell, and the doore cheekes with the blood that is in the basen, and let none of you goe out at the doore of his house, vntill the morning.
23 And he will pass through Yahweh to strike Egypt and he will see the blood on the lintels and on [the] two the doorposts and he will pass over Yahweh over the doorway and not he will permit the destroyer to come into houses your to strike [you].
For the Lord will passe by to smite the Egyptians: and when he seeth the blood vpon the lintel and on the two doore cheekes, the Lord wil passe ouer the doore, and wil not suffer the destroyer to come into your houses to plague you.
24 And you will keep the word this to a decree for yourself and for children your until perpetuity.
Therefore shall ye obserue this thing as an ordinance both for thee and thy sonnes for euer.
25 And it will be that you will come into the land which he will give Yahweh to you just as he said and you will keep the service this.
And when ye shall come into the land, which the Lord will giue you as hee hath promised, then ye shall keepe this seruice.
26 And it will be that they will say to you children your what? [is] the service this to you.
And when your children aske you, What seruice is this ye keepe?
27 And you will say [is] a sacrifice of passover it to Yahweh who he passed over over [the] houses of [the] people of Israel in Egypt when struck he Egypt and houses our he delivered and it bowed low the people and they bowed down.
Then ye shall saye, It is the sacrifice of the Lordes Passeouer, which passed ouer the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and preserued our houses. Then the people bowed them selues, and worshipped.
28 And they went and they did [the] people of Israel just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses and Aaron so they did.
So the children of Israel went, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron: so did they.
29 And it was - in [the] middle of the night and Yahweh he struck every firstborn in [the] land of Egypt from [the] firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on throne his unto [the] firstborn of the prisoner who [was] in [the] house of the cistern and every firstborn of livestock.
Nowe at midnight, the Lord smote all the first borne in the lande of Egypt, from the first borne of Pharaoh that sate on his throne, vnto the first borne of the captiue that was in prison, and all the first borne of beastes.
30 And he arose Pharaoh night he and all servants his and all Egypt and it was a cry great in Egypt for there not [was] a house where there not there [was] a dead [person].
And Pharaoh rose vp in the night, he, and all his seruants and all the Egyptians: and there was a great crye in Egypt: for there was no house where there was not one dead.
31 And he summoned Moses and Aaron night and he said arise go out from among people my both you as well as [the] people of Israel and go serve Yahweh as said you.
And hee called to Moses and to Aaron by night, and saide, Rise vp, get you out from among my people, both yee, and the children of Israel, and goe serue the Lord as ye haue sayde.
32 Both flock[s] your as well as herd[s] your take just as you said and go and you will bless also me.
Take also your sheepe and your cattell as yee haue sayde, and depart, and blesse me also.
33 And it urged Egypt on the people to hurry to send away them from the land for they said all of us [are] about to die.
And the Egyptians did force the people, because they would send them out of the land in haste: for they said, We die all.
34 And it carried off the people dough its before it was leavened kneading troughs their [were] bound up in clothes their on shoulder their.
Therfore the people tooke their dough before it was leauened, euen their dough bound in clothes vpon their shoulders.
35 And [the] people of Israel they did according to [the] word of Moses and they asked from Egypt articles of silver and articles of gold and clothes.
And the children of Israel did according to the saying of Moses, and they asked of ye Egyptians iewels of siluer and iewels of gold, and raiment.
36 And Yahweh he gave [the] favor of the people in [the] eyes of Egypt and they granted [the] request them and they plundered Egypt.
And the Lord gaue the people fauour in the sight of the Egyptians: and they graunted their request: so they spoyled the Egyptians.
37 And they set out [the] people of Israel from Rameses Succoth towards [were] about six hundred thousand foot soldier[s] the men apart from little one[s].
Then the children of Israel tooke their iourney from Rameses to Succoth about sixe hundreth thousand men of foote, beside children.
38 And also a mixed company numerous it went up with them and flock[s] and herd[s] livestock numerous very.
And a great multitude of sundrie sortes of people went out with them, and sheepe, and beeues, and cattel in great abundance.
39 And they baked the dough which they had brought out from Egypt bread cakes unleavened bread for not it was leavened for they had been driven out from Egypt and not they had been able to delay and also provision[s] not they had made for themselves.
And they baked the dough which they brought out of Egypt, and made vnleauened cakes: for it was not leauened, because they were thrust out of Egypt, neither coulde they tarie, nor yet prepare themselues vitailes.
40 And [the] dwelling of [the] people of Israel which they dwelt in Egypt [was] thirty year[s] and four hundred year[s].
So the dwelling of the children of Israel, while they dwelled in Egypt, was foure hundreth and thirtie yeres.
41 And it was from [the] end of thirty year[s] and four hundred year[s] and it was on [the] substance of the day this they went out all [the] hosts of Yahweh from [the] land of Egypt.
And when the foure hundreth and thirtie yeeres were expired, euen the selfe same day departed all the hostes of the Lord out of the land of Egypt.
42 [was] a night of Vigil it for Yahweh to bring out them from [the] land of Egypt it the night this for Yahweh vigil for all [the] people of Israel to generations their.
It is a night to be kept holie to the Lord, because he brought them out of the lande of Egypt: this is that night of the Lord, which all the children of Israel must keepe throughout their generations.
43 And he said Yahweh to Moses and Aaron this [is] [the] statute of the passover any son of foreignness not he will eat in it.
Also the Lord said vnto Moses and Aaron, This is the Lawe of the Passeouer: no stranger shall eate thereof.
44 And every slave of anyone [the] purchase of silver and you will circumcise him then he will eat in it.
But euerie seruant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
45 A resident alien and a hired laborer not he will eat in it.
A stranger or an hyred seruant shall not eat thereof.
46 In a house one it will be eaten not you will bring out from the house any of the meat [the] outside towards and a bone not you will break in it.
In one house shall it bee eaten: thou shalt carie none of ye flesh out of the house, neither shall ye breake a bone thereof.
47 All [the] congregation of Israel they will do it.
All the Congregation of Israel shall obserue it.
48 And if he will sojourn with you a sojourner and he will observe a passover to Yahweh he will be circumcised of him every male and then he will draw near to observe it and he will be like [the] native-born of the land and any uncircumcised [man] not he will eat in it.
But if a stranger dwell with thee, and will obserue the Passeouer of the Lord, let him circumcise all the males, that belong vnto him, and then let him come and obserue it, and he shall be as one that is borne in the land: for none vncircumcised person shall eate thereof.
49 Law one it will be[long] to the native-born and to the sojourner who sojourns in midst of you.
One lawe shalbe to him that is borne in the land, and to the stranger that dwelleth among you.
50 And they did all [the] people of Israel just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses and Aaron so they did.
Then all the children of Israel did as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron: so did they.
51 And it was on [the] substance of the day this he brought out Yahweh [the] people of Israel from [the] land of Egypt on hosts their.
And the selfe same day did the Lord bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
