Esther 4

1 And Mordecai he knew all that it had been done and he tore Mordecai clothes his and he put on sackcloth and ash[es] and he went out in [the] midst of the city and he cried a cry loud and bitter.

Cuando Mardoqueo se enteró de todo lo que había sucedido, rasgó sus ropas y se vistió de saco y ceniza, y recorrió la ciudad llorando y lamentándose de dolor.

2 And he went to before [the] gate of the king for not to go into [the] gate of the king in clothing of sackcloth.

Llegó hasta la puerta del palacio, porque a nadie se le permitía entrar en la puerta del palacio vestido de cilicio.

3 And in every province and province [the] place where [the] word of the king and law his [were] reaching mourning great [belonged] to the Jews and fasting and weeping and wailing sackcloth and ash[es] it was spread as a bed by many [people].

Cuando el decreto y las órdenes del rey llegaron a todas las provincias, los judíos se pusieron a llorar con terrible angustia. Ayunaron, lloraron y se lamentaron, y muchos se acostaron con saco y ceniza.

4 (And they came *Q(k)*) [the] maids of Esther and eunuchs her and they told to her and she agonized the queen exceedingly and she sent garments to clothe Mordecai and to remove sackcloth his from on him and not he accepted [them].

Las doncellas y los eunucos de Ester vinieron y le dijeron, y la reina estaba muy disgustada. Le envió ropa para que se quitara el cilicio, pero él se negó a aceptarla.

5 And she summoned Esther Hathach one of [the] eunuchs of the king whom he had made stand before her and she commanded him on Mordecai to know what? [was] this and concerning what? [was] this.

Llamó a Hatac, uno de los eunucos del rey asignados para atenderla, y le ordenó que fuera a ver a Mardoqueo y averiguara qué estaba haciendo y por qué.

6 And he went out Hathach to Mordecai to [the] open place of the city which [was] before [the] gate of the king.

Hatac fue a ver a Mardoqueo en la plaza de la ciudad, frente a la puerta del palacio.

7 And he told to him Mordecai all that it had happened to him and - [the] exact amount of the silver which he had said Haman to weigh out to [the] treasuries of the king (for the Jews *Q(k)*) to destroy them.

Mardoqueo le explicó todo lo que le había sucedido, incluyendo la cantidad exacta de dinero que Amán había prometido pagar al tesoro real por la destrucción de los judíos.

8 And copy of [the] writing of the law which it had been given in Susa to annihilate them he gave to him to show Esther and to tell to her and to command to her to go to the king to seek favor to him and to request from to before him on people her.

Mardoqueo también le dio una copia del decreto que se había emitido en Susa para su destrucción, para que se lo mostrara a Ester y se lo explicara, y le pidió que la instruyera para que fuera a ver al rey y le pidiera clemencia y le rogara por su pueblo.

9 And he came Hathach and he told to Esther [the] words of Mordecai.

Hatac regresó y le contó a Ester lo que Mardoqueo había dicho.

10 And she said Esther to Hathach and she commanded him to Mordecai.

Entonces Ester habló con Hatac y le ordenó que entregara este mensaje a Mardoqueo.

11 All [the] servants of the king and [the] people of [the] provinces of the king [are] knowing that every man and woman who he goes to the king into the court inner who not he is summoned [is] one law his to put to death apart from that he extends to him the king [the] scepter of gold and he will live and I not (I have been summoned *L(abh)*) to go to the king this thirty day[s].

“Todos los funcionarios del rey, e incluso la gente de las provincias del imperio del rey, saben que cualquier hombre o cualquier mujer que se dirija al rey, entrando en su corte interior sin ser convocado, es condenado a muerte -esa es la única ley del rey- a menos que el rey les tienda su cetro de oro para que puedan vivir. En mi caso, hace treinta días que no me llaman para ir al rey”.

12 And they told to Mordecai [the] words of Esther.

Cuando le contaron a Mardoqueo lo que dijo Ester,

13 And he said Mordecai to bring back to Esther may not you imagine in self your to escape [the] house of the king from all the Jews.

Mardoqueo le devolvió el mensaje a Ester, diciendo: “¡No creas que porque vives en el palacio del rey tu vida es la única que se salvará de todos los judíos!

14 That except certainly you will keep quiet at the time this relief and deliverance it will arise for the Jews from a place another and you and [the] house of father your you will perish and who? [is] knowing if for a time like this you have reached the queenhood.

Si te quedas callada ahora, la ayuda y el rescate llegarán a los judíos desde algún otro lugar, y tú y tus parientes morirán. Quién sabe: ¡podría ser que hayas venido a ser reina para un momento como éste!”

15 And she said Esther to bring back to Mordecai.

Ester le respondió a Mardoqueo diciendo:

16 Go gather all the Jews who are found in Susa and fast on me and may not you eat and may not you drink three days night and day also I and maids my I will fast thus and in such I will go to the king which not [is] according to the law and just as I have perished I have perished.

“Haz que todos los judíos de Susa se reúnan y ayunen por mí. No coman ni beban nada durante tres días y tres noches. Yo y mis doncellas también ayunaremos. Después iré a ver al rey, aunque sea contra la ley, y si muero, que muera”.

17 And he passed on Mordecai and he did according to all that she had commanded to him Esther.

Mardoqueo fue e hizo todo lo que Ester le había dicho que hiciera.
