Esther 4
1 And Mordecai he knew all that it had been done and he tore Mordecai clothes his and he put on sackcloth and ash[es] and he went out in [the] midst of the city and he cried a cry loud and bitter.
Quando Mardocheo seppe quanto era stato fatto, si stracciò le vesti, si coprì di sacco e di cenere e uscì in mezzo alla città, mandando alte e amare grida;
2 And he went to before [the] gate of the king for not to go into [the] gate of the king in clothing of sackcloth.
venne fin davanti alla porta del re, ma a nessuno che fosse coperto di sacco era permesso di entrare per la porta del re.
3 And in every province and province [the] place where [the] word of the king and law his [were] reaching mourning great [belonged] to the Jews and fasting and weeping and wailing sackcloth and ash[es] it was spread as a bed by many [people].
In ogni provincia, dovunque giungevano l'ordine del re e il suo editto, ci fu gran desolazione fra i Giudei: digiuno, pianto, lutto e a molti servirono di letto il sacco e la cenere.
4 (And they came *Q(k)*) [the] maids of Esther and eunuchs her and they told to her and she agonized the queen exceedingly and she sent garments to clothe Mordecai and to remove sackcloth his from on him and not he accepted [them].
Le ancelle di Ester e i suoi eunuchi vennero a riferire la cosa e la regina ne fu molto angosciata; mandò vesti a Mardocheo, perché se le mettesse e si togliesse di dosso il sacco, ma egli non le accettò.
5 And she summoned Esther Hathach one of [the] eunuchs of the king whom he had made stand before her and she commanded him on Mordecai to know what? [was] this and concerning what? [was] this.
Allora Ester chiamò Atàch, uno degli eunuchi che il re aveva messo al suo servizio, e lo incaricò di andare da Mardocheo per domandare che cosa era avvenuto e perché si comportava così.
6 And he went out Hathach to Mordecai to [the] open place of the city which [was] before [the] gate of the king.
Atàch si recò da Mardocheo sulla piazza della città davanti alla porta del re.
7 And he told to him Mordecai all that it had happened to him and - [the] exact amount of the silver which he had said Haman to weigh out to [the] treasuries of the king (for the Jews *Q(k)*) to destroy them.
Mardocheo gli narrò quanto gli era accaduto e gli indicò la somma di denaro che Amàn aveva promesso di versare al tesoro reale per far distruggere i Giudei;
8 And copy of [the] writing of the law which it had been given in Susa to annihilate them he gave to him to show Esther and to tell to her and to command to her to go to the king to seek favor to him and to request from to before him on people her.
gli diede anche una copia dell'editto promulgato a Susa per il loro sterminio, perché lo mostrasse a Ester, la informasse di tutto e le ordinasse di presentarsi al re per domandargli grazia e per intercedere in favore del suo popolo. «Ricordati - le fece dire - dei giorni della tua povertà, quando eri nutrita dalla mia mano; perché Amàn, il secondo in dignità dopo il re, ha parlato contro di noi per farci mettere a morte. Invoca il Signore, parla al re in nostro favore e liberaci dalla morte!».
9 And he came Hathach and he told to Esther [the] words of Mordecai.
Atàch ritornò da Ester e le riferì le parole di Mardocheo.
10 And she said Esther to Hathach and she commanded him to Mordecai.
Ester ordinò ad Atàch di riferire a Mardocheo:
11 All [the] servants of the king and [the] people of [the] provinces of the king [are] knowing that every man and woman who he goes to the king into the court inner who not he is summoned [is] one law his to put to death apart from that he extends to him the king [the] scepter of gold and he will live and I not (I have been summoned *L(abh)*) to go to the king this thirty day[s].
«Tutti i ministri del re e il popolo delle sue province sanno che se qualcuno, uomo o donna, entra dal re nell'atrio interno, senza essere stato chiamato, in forza di una legge uguale per tutti, deve essere messo a morte, a meno che il re non stenda verso di lui il suo scettro d'oro, nel qual caso avrà salva la vita. Quanto a me, sono gia trenta giorni che non sono stata chiamata per andare dal re».
12 And they told to Mordecai [the] words of Esther.
Le parole di Ester furono riferite a Mardocheo
13 And he said Mordecai to bring back to Esther may not you imagine in self your to escape [the] house of the king from all the Jews.
e Mardocheo fece dare questa risposta a Ester: «Non pensare di salvare solo te stessa fra tutti i Giudei, per il fatto che ti trovi nella reggia.
14 That except certainly you will keep quiet at the time this relief and deliverance it will arise for the Jews from a place another and you and [the] house of father your you will perish and who? [is] knowing if for a time like this you have reached the queenhood.
Perché se tu in questo momento taci, aiuto e liberazione sorgeranno per i Giudei da un altro luogo; ma tu perirai insieme con la casa di tuo padre. Chi sa che tu non sia stata elevata a regina proprio in previsione d'una circostanza come questa?».
15 And she said Esther to bring back to Mordecai.
Allora Ester fece rispondere a Mardocheo:
16 Go gather all the Jews who are found in Susa and fast on me and may not you eat and may not you drink three days night and day also I and maids my I will fast thus and in such I will go to the king which not [is] according to the law and just as I have perished I have perished.
«Và, raduna tutti i Giudei che si trovano a Susa: digiunate per me, state senza mangiare e senza bere per tre giorni, notte e giorno; anch'io con le ancelle digiunerò nello stesso modo; dopo entrerò dal re, sebbene ciò sia contro la legge e, se dovrò perire, perirò!».
17 And he passed on Mordecai and he did according to all that she had commanded to him Esther.
Mardocheo se ne andò e fece quanto Ester gli aveva ordinato.
