Deuteronomy 4
1 And now O Israel listen to the statutes and to the judgments which I [am] about to teach you to observe so that you may live and you will go and you will take possession of the land which Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your [is] about to give to you.
Og nu, Israel! Hør de Anordninger og Lovbud, som jeg vil lære eder at holde, for at I kan blive i Live og komme ind og tage det Land i Besiddelse, som HERREN, eders Fædres Gud, vil give eder.
2 Not you must add to the word which I [am] about to command you and not you must diminish from it to keep [the] commandments of Yahweh God your which I [am] about to command you.
I maa hverken lægge noget til eller trække noget fra, hvad jeg byder eder, men I skal holde HERREN eders Guds Bud, som jeg paalægger eder.
3 Own eyes your [are] the [ones which] saw [that] which he did Yahweh at Baal Peor for every person who he walked after Baal Peor he destroyed him Yahweh God your from midst your.
I har med egne Øjne set, hvad HERREN gjorde i Anledning af Ba'al-Peor: Hver eneste Mand, som fulgte Ba'al-Peor, udryddede HERREN din Gud af din Midte.
4 And you who were clinging on Yahweh God your [are] alive all of you this day.
Men I, som holdt fast ved HERREN eders Gud, er alle i Live den Dag i Dag.
5 See - I have taught you statutes and judgments just as he commanded me Yahweh God my to do thus in [the] midst of the land where you [are] about to go there towards to take possession of it.
Se, jeg har lært eder Anordninger og Lovbud, saaledes som HERREN min Gud har paalagt mig, for at I skal handle derefter i det Land, I skal ind og tage i Besiddelse;
6 And you will take care and you will observe [them] for that [will be] wisdom your and understanding your to [the] eyes of the peoples which they will hear! all the statutes these and they will say certainly [is] a people wise and understanding the nation great this.
hold dem og følg dem! Thi det skal være eders Visdom og eders Kløgt i de andre Folks Øjne. Naar de hører om alle disse Anordninger, skal de sige: »Sandelig, det er et vist og klogt Folk, dette store Folk!«
7 For who? [is] a nation great which [belongs] to it a god near to it like Yahweh God our in all calling we to him.
Thi hvor er der vel et stort Folk, som har Guder, der kommer til det, saaledes som HERREN vor Gud gør det, naar vi kalder paa ham;
8 And who? [is] a nation great which [belongs] to it statutes and judgments righteous like all the law this which I [am] setting before you this day.
og hvor er der vel et stort Folk, der har saa retfærdige Anordninger og Lovbud som hele denne Lov, jeg forelægger eder i Dag?
9 Only take heed to yourself and guard self your exceedingly lest you should forget the things which they have seen eyes your and lest they should depart from heart your all [the] days of life your and you will make known them to children your and to [the] children of children your.
Kun skal du vogte dig og omhyggeligt tage Vare paa dig selv, at du ikke glemmer, hvad du med egne Øjne har set, og at det ikke viger fra dit Hjerte, saa længe du lever; og du skal fortælle dine Sønner og dine Sønners Sønner derom.
10 [the] day When you stood before Yahweh God your at Horeb when said Yahweh to me assemble to me the people so I may make hear them words my that they will learn! to fear me all the days which they [will be] alive on the land and children their they will teach!
Glem ikke den Dag, du stod for HERREN din Guds Aasyn ved Horeb, da HERREN sagde til mig: »Kald mig Folket sammen, for at jeg kan kundgøre dem mine Ord, saa de kan lære at frygte mig, saa længe de lever paa Jorden, og lære deres Sønner det samme!«
11 And you drew near! and you stood! under the mountain and the mountain [was] burning with fire to [the] heart of the heavens darkness cloud and thick darkness.
Da traadte I frem og stod ved Bjergets Fod, medens Bjerget brændte i lys Lue helt ind i Himmelen, hyllet i Mørke, Skyer og Mulm;
12 And he spoke Yahweh to you from [the] middle of the fire a sound of words you [were] hearing and a form not you [were] seeing except a voice.
og da HERREN talede til eder ud fra Ilden, hørte I kun Ordene, men nogen Skikkelse saa I ikke, kun en Røst fornam I.
13 And he declared to you covenant his which he commanded you to observe [the] ten the words and he inscribed them on two tablets of stone.
Da kundgjorde han eder sin Pagt, som han bød eder at holde, de ti Ord, og han skrev dem paa to Stentavler.
14 And me he commanded Yahweh at the time that to teach you statutes and judgments to observe you them in the land where you [are] about to pass over there towards to take possession of it.
Og mig bød HERREN dengang at lære eder Anordninger og Lovbud, som I skulde overholde idet Land, I nu skal over og tage i Besiddelse.
15 And you will take heed exceedingly to selves your for not you saw any form on [the] day [when] he spoke Yahweh to you at Horeb from [the] middle of the fire.
Eftersom I ikke saa nogen Skikkelse, dengang HERREN talede til eder paa Horeb ud fra Ilden, saa vogt eder nu omhyggeligt for
16 Lest you should act corruptly! and you will make for yourselves an image of a form of any figure a likeness of a male or a female.
at handle saa ryggesløst, at I laver eder et Gudebillede, en Stenstøtte i en eller anden Skikkelse, enten det nu er et Afbillede af en Mand eller en Kvinde
17 A likeness of any animal which [is] on the earth a likeness of any bird of wing which it flies in the heavens.
eller et Afbillede af et eller andet Dyr, der lever paa Jorden, eller et Afbillede af en eller anden vinget Fugl, der flyver under Himmelen,
18 A likeness of any creeping [thing] on the ground a likeness of any fish which [is] in the waters from under to the earth.
eller et Afbillede af et eller andet Kryb, der kryber paa Jorden, eller et Afbillede af en eller anden Fisk i Vandet under Jorden;
19 And lest you should lift up eyes your the heavens towards and you will see the sun and the moon and the stars all [the] host of the heavens and you will be drawn aside and you will bow down to them and you will serve them which he has assigned Yahweh God your them to all the peoples under all the heavens.
og naar du løfter dit Blik til Himmelen og ser Solen og Maanen og Stjernerne, hele Himmelens Hær, saa vogt dig for at lade dig forføre til at tilbede og dyrke dem. Thi HERREN din Gud har tildelt alle de andre Folk under hele Himmelen dem;
20 And you he took Yahweh and he brought out you from [the] furnace of iron from Egypt to become for him a people of inheritance as the day this.
men eder tog HERREN og førte ud af Smelteovnen, af Ægypten, for at I skulde være hans Ejendomsfolk, som I nu er.
21 And Yahweh he was angry with me on words your and he swore to not to pass over I the Jordan and to not to go into the land good which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you an inheritance.
Men HERREN blev vred paa mig for eders Skyld og svor, at jeg ikke skulde komme over Jordan ind i det herlige Land, som HERREN din Gud vil give dig i Eje,
22 For I [am] about to die in the land this not I [am] about to pass over the Jordan and you [are] about to pass over and you will take possession of the land good this.
thi jeg skal dø i Landet her; jeg skal ikke komme over Jordan, men I skal komme over og tage dette herlige Land i Besiddelse.
23 Take heed to yourselves lest you should forget [the] covenant of Yahweh God your which he has made with you and you will make for yourselves an image a form of anything which he commanded you Yahweh God your.
Saa vogt eder for at glemme HERREN eders Guds Pagt, som han sluttede med eder, og for at lave eder noget Gudebillede i Skikkelse af noget som helst, HERREN din Gud har forbudt dig.
24 For Yahweh God your [is] a fire consuming he a God jealous.
Thi HERREN din Gud er en fortærende Ild, en nidkær Gud!
25 For you will father children and children of children and you will grow old in the land and you will act corruptly and you will make an image of a form of anything and you will do the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh God your to provoke to anger him.
Naar du faar Børn og Børnebørn, og I bliver gamle i Landet, og I da handler saa ryggesløst, at I laver eder Gudebilleder i en eller anden Skikkelse og gør, hvad der er ondt i HERREN din Guds Øjne, saa at I fortørner ham,
26 I call as witnesses against you this day the heavens and the earth that certainly you will perish! quickly from on the land where you [are] about to pass over the Jordan there towards to take possession of it not you will prolong! days on it for utterly you will be destroyed!
saa kalder jeg i Dag Himmelen og Jorden til Vidne imod eder paa, at I hastigt skal blive udryddet af det Land, I skal over Jordan og tage i Besiddelse; I skal ikke faa noget langt Liv der, men visselig gaa til Grunde;
27 And he will scatter Yahweh you among the peoples and you will be left men of number among the nations where he will drive away Yahweh you there towards.
og HERREN vil splitte eder mellem Folkene, og kun nogle faa af eder skal blive tilbage blandt de Folkeslag, HERREN driver eder hen iblandt.
28 And you will serve there gods [the] work of [the] hands of a human wood and stone which not they see! and not they hear! and not they eat! and not they smell!
Der skal I komme til at dyrke Guder, der er Menneskehænders Værk, Træ og Sten, som hverken kan se eller høre, spise eller lugte!
29 And you will seek from there Yahweh God your and you will find [him] for you will seek him with all heart your and with all being your.
Der skal I saa søge HERREN din Gud, og du skal finde ham, naar du søger ham af hele dit Hjerte og hele din Sjæl.
30 When it is distress to you and they will come upon you all the things these at [the] end of the days and you will return to Yahweh God your and you will listen to voice his.
I de kommende Dage, naar du er i Nød, og alle disse Ting kommer over dig, skal du vende om til HERREN din Gud og adlyde hans Røst.
31 For [is] a God compassionate Yahweh God your not he will abandon you and not he will destroy you and not he will forget [the] covenant of ancestors your which he swore to them.
Thi en barmhjertig Gud er HERREN din Gud; han slipper dig ikke og lader dig ikke gaa til Grunde og glemmer ikke Pagten med dine Fædre, som han tilsvor dem.
32 That ask please to days former which they were before you from the day when he created God - humankind on the earth and to from [the] end of the heavens and to [the] end of the heavens ¿ has it happened like the thing great this or ¿ has it been heard like it.
Thi gransk dog i de henfarne Tider, der gik forud for dig, lige fra den Tid af da Gud skabte Menneskene paa Jorden, og fra den ene Ende af Himmelen til den anden, om der er sket noget saa stort som dette, eller om dets Lige er hørt.
33 ¿ Has it heard a people [the] voice of a god speaking from [the] middle of the fire just as you have heard you and has it lived?
Har noget Folk hørt Guds Røst ud fra Ilden, saaledes som du hørte det, og levet?
34 Or - ¿ has it attempted a god to come to take for itself a nation from [the] midst of a nation by trials by signs and by wonders and by battle and by a hand strong and by an arm outstretched and by terrors great like all that he did for you Yahweh God your in Egypt to eyes your.
Eller har nogen Gud søgt at komme og hente sig et Folk midt ud af et andet Folk ved Prøvelser, Tegn og Undere, ved Krig, med stærk Haand og udstrakt Arm og store Rædsler, saaledes som du med egne Øjne saa HERREN eders Gud gøre med eder i Ægypten?
35 You you were shown to know that Yahweh he [is] God there not [is] still more from to alone him.
Du fik det at se, for at du skulde vide, at HERREN og ingen anden er Gud.
36 From the heavens he caused to hear you voice his to discipline you and on the earth he showed you fire his great and words his you heard from [the] middle of the fire.
Fra Himmelen lod han dig høre sin Røst for at undervise dig, og paa Jorden lod han dig se sin store Ild, og hans Ord hørte du ud fra Ilden.
37 And because that he loved ancestors your and he chose offspring his after him and he brought out you by own presence his by power his great from Egypt.
Og fordi han elskede dine Fædre og udvalgte deres Afkom efter dem og selv førte dig ud af Ægypten ved sin store Vælde
38 To dispossess nations great and mighty more than you from before you to bring in you to give to you land their an inheritance as the day this.
for at drive Folk bort foran dig, der er større og mægtigere end du selv, og lade dig komme ind i deres Land og give dig det i Eje, som det nu er sket,
39 And you will know this day and you will bring back to heart your that Yahweh he [is] God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath there not [is] still more.
derfor skal du i Dag vide og lægge dig paa Sinde, at HERREN og ingen anden er Gud oppe i Himmelen og nede paa Jorden.
40 And you will keep statutes his and commandments his which I [am] commanding you this day that it will go well for you and for children your after you and so that you may prolong days on (the land *L(abh)*) which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you all the days.
Og du skal holde hans Anordninger og Bud, som jeg paalægger dig i Dag, for at det kan gaa dig og dine Børn efter dig vel, og for at du alle Dage kan leve længe i det Land, HERREN din Gud giver dig!
41 Then he set apart Moses three cities on [the] other side of the Jordan [the] rising of towards [the] sun.
Paa den Tid udskilte Moses tre Byer hinsides Jordan, paa den østre Side,
42 To flee there towards a killer who he will kill neighbor his with no knowledge and he not [was] hating him from yesterday [the] third day and he will flee to one of the cities these and he will live.
som Tilflugtssteder for Manddrabere, der uforsætligt slaar et andet Menneske ihjel uden i Forvejen at have baaret Nag til ham, for at de kan redde Livet ved at ty til en af disse Byer,
43 Bezer in the wilderness in [the] land of the plain for the Reubenite[s] and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadite[s] and Golan in Bashan for the Manassite[s].
nemlig Bezer i Ørkenen paa Højsletten for Rubeniterne, Ramot i Gilead for Gaditerne og Golan i Basan for Manassiterne.
44 And this [is] the law which he set Moses before [the] people of Israel.
Dette er den Lov, Moses forelagde Israeliterne.
45 These [are] the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments which he spoke Moses to [the] people of Israel when came out they from Egypt.
Dette er de Vidnesbyrd, Anordninger og Lovbud, Moses kundgjorde Israeliterne, da de drog bort fra Ægypten,
46 On [the] other side of the Jordan in the valley opposite to Beth Peor in [the] land of Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] who [was] dwelling in Heshbon whom he struck down Moses and [the] people of Israel when came out they from Egypt.
hinsides Jordan i Dalen lige for Bet-Peor i det Land, der havde tilhørt Amoriterkongen Sihon, som boede i Hesjbon, og som Moses og Israeliterne havde slaaet, da de drog bort fra Ægypten.
47 And they took possession of land his and [the] land of - Og [the] king of Bashan [the] two [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [was] on [the] other side of the Jordan [the] rising of [the] sun.
De havde erobret hans og Kong Og af Basans Land, de to Amoriterkonger hinsides Jordan, paa den østre Side,
48 From Aroer which [is] on [the] edge of [the] wadi of Arnon and to [the] mountain of Siyon that [is] Hermon.
fra Aroer ved Arnonflodens Bred til Sirjons Bjerg, det er Hermon,
49 And all the Arabah [the] other side of the Jordan east-wards and to [the] sea of the Arabah under [the] slopes of Pisgah.
tillige med hele Arabalavningen hinsides Jordan, paa den østre Side, lige til Arabahavet neden for Pisgas Skrænter.
