< Deuteronomy 32 >

1 Give ear O heavens so let me speak and it may hear the earth [the] words of mouth my.
“ʻAe ngaahi langi, mou tokanga, pea te u lea; pea ke fanongo, ʻE māmani, ki he ngaahi lea ʻa hoku ngutu.
2 May it drop like the rain teaching my may it distil like the dew speech my like showers of rain on grass and like copious showers on vegetation.
‌ʻE tō ʻeku akonaki ʻo hangē ko e ʻuha, ʻe ʻalu hifo ʻeku ngaahi lea ʻo hangē ko e hahau, ʻo hangē ko e taumosi ki he ʻakau vaivai, ʻo hangē ko e ʻuha tuʻu mo tō ki he mohuku:
3 For [the] name of Yahweh I will proclaim ascribe greatness to God our.
Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻeku fakaongo atu ʻae huafa ʻo Sihova: mou tuku ʻae māfimafi ki hotau ʻOtua.
4 The rock [is] perfect work his for all ways his [are] justice a God of faithfulness and there not [is] injustice [is] righteous and upright he.
“Ko ia ko e Maka! ʻOku haohaoa ʻa ʻene ngāue: he ko ʻene ʻulungāanga kotoa pē ʻoku angatonu: ko e ʻOtua ʻoe moʻoni, mo taʻehalaia, ʻoku angatonu mo māʻoniʻoni ia.
5 It has acted corruptly to him not children his blemish their a generation perverse and crooked.
Kuo nau fakahalaʻi ʻakinautolu, ko honau ʻila ʻoku ʻikai ko e fakaʻilonga ʻo ʻene fānau: ko e toʻutangata mioʻi mo pikopiko ʻakinautolu.
6 ¿ To Yahweh do you repay this O people foolish and not wise ¿ not [is] he father your he created you he he made you and he established you.
He ʻoku pehē hoʻomou totongi kia Sihova, ʻae kakai vale mo taʻepoto? ʻIkai ko hoʻo tamai ia naʻa ne fakatau koe? ʻIkai naʻa ne ngaohi koe, mo fokotuʻumaʻu koe?
7 Remember [the] days of antiquity consider [the] years of a generation and a generation ask father your so he will tell you old [people] your so they may say to you.
“Manatu ki he ngaahi ʻaho ʻi muʻa, tokanga ki he ngaahi taʻu ʻoe toʻutangata lahi: fehuʻi ki hoʻo tamai, pea te ne fakahā ia kiate koe; ki hoʻo kau mātuʻa, pea tenau tala kiate koe.
8 When gave inheritances to [the] Most High nations when separated he [the] children of humankind he fixed boundaries of peoples to [the] number of [the] people of Israel.
‌ʻI he vahe atu ʻe he Fungani Māʻolunga ki he ngaahi puleʻanga ʻa honau tofiʻa, ʻi heʻene fakamovetevete ʻae ngaahi foha ʻo ʻAtaina, naʻa ne ʻai ʻae fakangataʻanga ki he kakai ʻo fakatatau ki hono lau ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.
9 For [the] portion of Yahweh [is] people his Jacob [is] [the] measured portion of inheritance his.
He ko e tofiʻa ʻo Sihova ʻa hono kakai ko e afo ʻo hono tofiʻa ʻa Sēkope.
10 He found it in a land of wilderness and in a wasteland of howling of a desolate place he surrounded it he took care of it he guarded it like [the] pupil of eye his.
“Naʻa ne ʻilo ia ʻi he fonua lala, pea ʻi he toafa liʻaki mo ngungulu; naʻa ne tataki fano ia, ʻo ne akonakiʻi ia, naʻa ne tauhi ia ʻo hangē ko e tama ʻo hono mata.
11 Like an eagle [which] it stirs up nest its over young ones its it hovers it spreads out wings its it takes it it carries it on pinion its.
Hangē ko e ueʻi ʻe he ʻikale hono pununga, ʻo ʻōʻōfaki ki hono ʻuhiki, ʻo mafola atu hono kapakau, ʻo ne toʻo hake ʻakinautolu, ʻo fua ʻakinautolu ʻi hono kapakau:
12 Yahweh alone he guided it and there not with him [was] a god of foreignness.
“Naʻe pehē hono tataki ia tokotaha pe ʻe Sihova, pea naʻe ʻikai ha ʻotua kehe mo ia.
13 He caused to ride it on ([the] high places of *Q(k)*) [the] land and it ate fruits of [the] field and he suckled him honey from a rock and oil from flint of rock.
Naʻa ne fakaheka ia ke heka ki he ngaahi potu māʻolunga ʻo māmani, koeʻuhi ke ne kai ʻae tupu ʻoe ngoue; pea naʻa ne ngaohi ia ke ne mimisi ʻae hone mei he maka, mo e lolo mei he makaafi;
14 Curd of [the] herd and milk of [the] flock with fat of lambs and rams [the] sons of Bashan and goats with [the] fat of [the] kidneys of wheat and blood of grape[s] you drank wine.
Ko e pota mei he fanga pulu fefine, mo e huʻahuhu ʻoe sipi, mo e ngako ʻoe fanga lami, mo e fanga sipitangata ʻi he faʻahinga mei Pesani, mo e fanga kosi mo hono ngako ʻoe ngaahi tengaʻi uite; pea naʻa ke inu ʻae toto totonu ʻoe kālepi.
15 And he grew fat Jeshurun and he kicked you have grown fat you have become bloated you have become gorged and he abandoned God [who] he made him and he treated with contempt [the] rock of salvation his.
“Ka naʻe fakaʻaʻau ʻo sino ʻa Sesuluni, pea ʻakafisi: kuo ke hoko ʻo sino, kuo ke hoko ʻo matolu, kuo ʻufiʻufi koe [ʻe he sino]; pea naʻa ne toki liʻaki ʻae ʻOtua ʻaia naʻa ne ngaohi ia, pea naʻa ne taʻefakaʻapaʻapa ki he Maka ʻo hono fakamoʻui.
16 They made jealous him by strange [gods] by abominations they provoked to anger him.
Naʻa nau langaʻi ʻaki hono fuaʻa ʻae ngaahi ʻotua kehe, naʻa nau fakatupu hono houhau ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi angakovi.
17 They sacrificed to the demons [which] not [are] God gods [which] not they had known them new [gods] [which] from near they had come [which] not they had known about them ancestors your.
Naʻa nau feilaulau ki he ngaahi tēvolo, kae ʻikai ki he ʻOtua; ki he ngaahi ʻotua naʻe ʻikai tenau ʻilo, ko e foʻou naʻe toki tupu foʻou hake, ʻaia naʻe ʻikai manavahē hoʻomou tamai ki ai.
18 [the] rock [which] he fathered You you forgot and you forgot God [who] gave birth to you.
‌ʻOku ke taʻetokanga ki he Maka naʻa ke tupu ai, pea kuo ke fakangaloʻi ʻae ʻOtua ʻaia naʻa ne fakafuofua koe.
19 And he saw Yahweh and he spurned from [the] provocation of sons his and daughters his.
“Pea ʻi he ʻafio ʻa Sihova, naʻa ne fehiʻa [kiate kinautolu], ko e meʻa ʻi he fakatupu ʻene houhau ʻe hono ngaahi foha, mo hono ngaahi ʻofefine.
20 And he said I will hide face my from them I will see what? [will be] end their for [are] a generation of perversiti they children [whom] not faithfulness [is] in them.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, ‘Te u fufū hoku fofonga meiate kinautolu, te u vakai, pe ko e hā honau ngataʻanga: he ko e toʻutangata angatuʻu ʻaupito ʻakinautolu, ko e fānau ʻoku ʻikai ʻiate kinautolu ʻae tui.
21 They they have made jealous me by not a god they have provoked to anger me by vanities their and I I will make jealous them by not a people by a nation foolish I will provoke to anger them.
Kuo nau langaʻi ʻaki ʻeku fuaʻa ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ko e ʻotua; kuo nau fakatupu ʻaki ʻeku houhau ʻenau ngaahi meʻa vaʻinga: pea te u ueʻi ʻaki ʻenau fuaʻa ʻekinautolu ʻoku ʻikai ko e kakai; te u fakatupu ʻenau ʻita ʻaki ʻae kakai vale.
22 For a fire it has been kindled by anger my and it has burned to Sheol lowest and it has consumed [the] earth and produce its and it has set ablaze [the] foundations of [the] mountains. (Sheol h7585)
He kuo tutu ʻae afi ʻi heʻeku houhau, pea ʻe vela ia ʻo aʻu ki loto heli, pea ʻe fakaʻauha ai ʻa māmani mo hono tupu, pea ʻe tutu ai ʻae ngaahi tuʻunga ʻoe ngaahi moʻunga. (Sheol h7585)
23 I will catch up on them calamities arrows my I will use up on them.
“‘Te u fokotuʻutuʻu ʻae ngaahi kovi kiate kinautolu; te u fakaʻosi ʻa ʻeku ngaahi ngahau kiate kinautolu.
24 [people] weakened of Famine and [people] consumed of plague and destruction bitter and tooth of animals I will send on them with [the] venom of [things which] crawl of [the] dust.
‌ʻE vela ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae honge, pea ʻe fakaʻosi ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae malalaʻi afi, pea ʻi he fakaʻauha fakamamahi: te u fekau ʻae kau nifo, ʻoe fanga manu kaivao kiate kinautolu, mo e kona ʻoe fanga ngata ʻoe efu.
25 From outside it will make childless a sword and [will be] from inner rooms terror both young man as well as young woman a suckling-child with a person of gray hair.
‌ʻE fakaʻauha ʻaki ʻae heletā ʻituʻa, mo e ilifia ʻi loto, ʻae talavou mo e tāupoʻou fakatouʻosi, ʻae tama huhu foki mo e tangata ʻuluhinā.
26 I said I will cut in pieces them I will make cease from humankind memory their.
Ne u pehē, Te u fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ki he ngaahi tuliki, te u fakaʻosi ʻae fakamanatu kiate kinautolu mei he lotolotonga ʻoe kakai:
27 If not [the] provocation of an enemy I was afraid lest they should misconstrue opponents their lest they should say hands our it was raised and not Yahweh he did all this.
Ka ne taʻeʻoua ʻeku manavahē ki he ʻita ʻae fili, telia naʻa fai fakafielahi ʻe honau ngaahi fili, pea telia naʻa nau lea ʻo pehē, Ko hotau nima māʻolunga, ka ʻoku ʻikai ko Sihova kuo ne fai ʻae meʻa ni kotoa pē.’
28 For [are] a nation perishing of counsel they and there not in them [is] understanding.
He ko e puleʻanga masiva fakakaukau poto ʻakinautolu, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha loto faʻa ʻilo foki ʻiate kinautolu.
29 If they were wise they will comprehend this they will understand end their.
Taumaiā kuo nau poto, koeʻuhi kenau ʻilo ʻae meʻa ni, koeʻuhi kenau tokanga ki honau ikuʻanga!
30 How? will he pursue one [person] a thousand and two [people] will they put to flight? ten thousand if in-deed rock their he had sold them and Yahweh he had delivered up them.
He ʻe fēfeeʻi ha tulia ʻe he tokotaha ʻae toko afe, pea ʻe he toko ua ʻae toko mano, ʻo ka ne ʻikai fakatau ʻakinautolu ʻe honau Maka, pea tāpuni ʻakinautolu ʻe Sihova?
31 For not [is] like rock our rock their and enemies our assessments.
He ko honau maka ʻoku ʻikai hangē ko hotau Maka, ʻio, naʻa mo hotau ngaahi fili, ʻoku nau fakamoʻoni ki ai.
32 For [is] from [the] vine of Sodom vine their and from [the] terraced fields of Gomorrah grapes their [are] grapes of poison clusters [are] bitter of them.
He ko ʻenau vaine ʻoku mei he vaine ʻo Sotoma, pea ʻoku mei he ngoue ʻo Komola: ko honau ngaahi kālepi, ko e kālepi ʻoe ʻahu, ʻoku kona honau ngaahi fuhi:
33 [is the] venom of Serpents wine their and [the] poison of cobras cruel.
Ko ʻenau uaine ko e kona ʻoe fanga ngata lalahi, mo e kona mālohi ʻoe fanga ngata kovi ʻaupito.
34 ¿ Not [is] that stored up with me sealed up in storehouses my.
‌ʻIkai kuo fokotuʻu ʻae meʻa ni ʻiate au ʻo talifaki pe, pea pulusi maʻu ia fakataha mo ʻeku ngaahi koloa?
35 [belong] to Me vengeance and retribution to a time [when] it will slip foot their for [is] near [the] day of disaster their and it will make haste impending [things] to them.
‌ʻOku ʻaʻaku ʻae tautea mo e totongi; ʻe hekea honau vaʻe ʻi hono kuonga: he ʻoku ofi ʻae ʻaho ʻo ʻenau tuʻutāmaki, pea ko e ngaahi meʻa ʻe tō kiate kinautolu ʻoku fakatoʻotoʻo.
36 For he will judge Yahweh people his and on servants his he will have compassion if he will see that it has been used up hand and there not [is] shut up and freed.
Koeʻuhi ʻe fakamaau ʻe Sihova ʻa hono kakai, pea ʻe lolou ia koeʻuhi ko ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki, ʻi heʻene ʻafioʻi kuo ʻosi honau mālohi, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha niʻihi kuo tāpuni, pe toe.
37 And he will say where? [are] gods their [the] rock [which] they sought refuge in it.
Pea ʻe pehē ʻe ia, ‘Kofaʻā koā honau ngaahi ʻotua, ko honau maka naʻa nau falala ki ai,
38 Which [the] fat of sacrifices their they ate they drank [the] wine drink-offering their let them arise and let them help you let it be over you a shelter.
‌ʻAia naʻe kai ʻae ngako ʻo ʻenau ngaahi feilaulau, pea inu ʻae uaine ʻo ʻenau ngaahi feilaulau inu? Tuku kenau tuʻu hake ʻo tokoni ʻakimoutolu, pea hoko ko homou kalofanga!
39 See - now that I I [am] he and there not [is] a god with me I I put to death and I may restore to life I wound and I I heal and there not from hand my [is] a deliverer.
“‘Mou vakai ni Ko Au, ʻio Ko Au ia, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha ʻotua mo Au: ʻoku ou tāmateʻi, pea ʻoku ou fakamoʻui; ʻoku ou taaʻi, pea ʻoku ou fakamoʻui: pea ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻoku faʻa fakamoʻui mei hoku nima.
40 For I lift up to heaven hand my and I will say [am] living I for ever.
He ʻoku ou hiki hake hoku nima ki langi, pea u pehē, ‘ʻOku ou moʻui ʻo taʻengata.’
41 If I sharpen [the] lightning of sword my so it may take hold on judgment hand my I will return vengeance to foes my and to [those who] hate me I will repay.
Kapau te u fakamāsila ʻa ʻeku heletā ngingila, pea puke ʻe hoku nima ʻae fakamaau; te u ʻatu ʻae tautea ki hoku ngaahi fili, pea te u totongi kiate kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au.
42 I will make drunk arrows my from blood and sword my it will devour flesh from [the] blood of [the] slain and [the] captive from [the] head of [the] leaders of [the] enemy.
Te u fakakona ʻeku ngaahi ngahau ʻaki ʻae toto, pea ʻe kai kakano ʻe heʻeku heletā; ʻi he toto ʻoe kakai kuo tāmateʻi, pea ʻi he kau pōpula, mei he kamataʻanga ʻoe ngaahi tautea ki he fili.
43 Shout for joy O nations people his for [the] blood of servants his he will avenge and vengeance he will return to foes his and he will make atonement for land his people his.
‌ʻAe ngaahi puleʻanga, mou fiefia mo hono kakai: koeʻuhi ʻe totongi ʻe ia ʻae toto ʻo ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki, pea te ne ʻatu, ʻae totongi ki hono ngaahi fili, pea ʻe fai ʻaloʻofa ia ki hono fonua, pea mo hono kakai.’”
44 And he came Moses and he spoke all [the] words of the song this in [the] ears of the people he and Hoshea [the] son of Nun.
Pea naʻe haʻu ʻa Mōsese ʻo ne lea ʻaki kotoa pē ʻae hiva ni ʻi he telinga ʻoe kakai, ʻaia mo Siosiua ko e foha ʻo Nuni.
45 And he finished Moses to speak all the words these to all Israel.
Pea naʻe fakaʻosi ʻe Mōsese ʻae lea ʻaki ʻae ngaahi lea ni kotoa pē ki ʻIsileli kotoa pē:
46 And he said to them set heart your to all the words which I [am] warning you this day that you will command them children your to take care to do all [the] words of the law this.
Pea pehē ʻe ia kiate kinautolu, “Fakatokangaʻi homou loto ki he ngaahi lea kotoa pē ʻaia ʻoku ou fakapapau kiate kimoutolu he ʻaho ni, ʻaia te mou fekau ki hoʻomou fānau kotoa pē ke tokanga pea fai ki he ngaahi lea kotoa pē ʻoe fono ni.
47 For not [is] a word [too] empty it for you for it [is] lives your and by the word this you will prolong days on the land where you [are] about to pass over the Jordan there towards to take possession of it.
He ʻoku ʻikai ko e meʻa vaʻinga ia kiate kimoutolu; ka ko hoʻomou moʻui ia: pea ko e meʻa eni te mou fakatolonga ai homou ngaahi ʻaho ʻi he fonua, ʻaia ʻoku mou ʻalu ai ki he tuʻa Sioatani ke maʻu ia.”
48 And he spoke Yahweh to Moses on [the] substance of the day this saying.
Pea naʻe folofola ai ʻa Sihova kia Mōsese ʻi he ʻaho pe ko ia, ʻo pehē,
49 Go up to [the] mountain of the Abarim this [the] mountain of Nebo which [is] in [the] land of Moab which [is] on [the] face of Jericho and see [the] land of Canaan which I [am] about to give to [the] people of Israel to a possession.
“Ke ke ʻalu hake ki he moʻunga ni ko ʻApalimi, ki he moʻunga ko Nipo, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he fonua ko Moape, ʻaia ʻoku hangatonu atu ki Seliko; pea vakai ki he fonua ko Kēnani, ʻaia ʻoku ou foaki ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ko honau tofiʻa:
50 And die on the mountain where you [are] about to go up there towards and be gathered to people your just as he died Aaron brother your on Hor the mountain and he was gathered to people his.
Pea ke mate ʻi he moʻunga ʻaia ʻoku ke ʻalu hake ki ai, pea fakataha koe mo ho kakai; ʻo hangē ko e mate ʻa ho taʻokete, ko ʻElone ʻi he moʻunga ko Hoa, mo e tānaki ia ki hono kakai:
51 On that you acted unfaithfully against me in among [the] people of Israel at [the] waters of Meribah Kadesh [the] wilderness of Zin on that not you honored as holy me in among [the] people of Israel.
Ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomo fai hala kiate au ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻi he vai ʻi Melipa Ketesi, ʻi he toafa ʻo Sini; ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomo taʻefakaʻapaʻapa kiate au ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.
52 For from before you will see the land and there towards not you will go into the land which I [am] about to give to [the] people Israel.
Te ke mamata ki he fonua ʻi ho ʻao; ka ʻe ʻikai te ke ʻalu ki ai ki he fonua ʻaia ʻoku ou foaki ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.”
