Deuteronomy 12
1 These [are] the statutes and the judgments which you will take care! to observe in the land which he has given Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your to you to take possession of it all the days which you [are] alive on the land.
Voici les lois et les ordonnances que vous observerez et que vous mettrez en pratique, aussi longtemps que vous y vivrez, dans le pays dont l’Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères, vous donne la possession.
2 Certainly you will destroy! all the places where they have served there the nations whom you [are] about to dispossess them gods their on the mountains high and on the hills and under every tree luxuriant.
Vous détruirez tous les lieux où les nations que vous allez chasser servent leurs dieux, sur les hautes montagnes, sur les collines, et sous tout arbre vert.
3 And you will break down altars their and you will shatter sacred pillars their and Asherah poles their you will burn! with fire and [the] images of gods their you will cut down! and you will destroy name their from the place that.
Vous renverserez leurs autels, vous briserez leurs statues, vous brûlerez au feu leurs idoles, vous abattrez les images taillées de leurs dieux, et vous ferez disparaître leurs noms de ces lieux-là.
4 Not you will do! thus to Yahweh God your.
Vous n’agirez pas ainsi à l’égard de l’Éternel, votre Dieu.
5 That except to the place where he will choose Yahweh God your from all tribes your to put name his there to dwelling its you will resort and you will go there towards.
Mais vous le chercherez à sa demeure, et vous irez au lieu que l’Éternel, votre Dieu, choisira parmi toutes vos tribus pour y placer son nom.
6 And you will bring there towards burnt offerings your and sacrifices your and tithes your and [the] contribution of hand your and votive offerings your and freewill offerings your and [the] firstborn of herd[s] your and flock[s] your.
C’est là que vous présenterez vos holocaustes, vos sacrifices, vos dîmes, vos prémices, vos offrandes en accomplissement d’un vœu, vos offrandes volontaires, et les premiers-nés de votre gros et de votre menu bétail.
7 And you will eat there before Yahweh God your and you will rejoice in every undertaking of hand your you and households your which he has blessed you Yahweh God your.
C’est là que vous mangerez devant l’Éternel, votre Dieu, et que, vous et vos familles, vous ferez servir à votre joie tous les biens par lesquels l’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous aura bénis.
8 Not you must do! according to all that we [are] doing here this day everyone all the right in own eyes his.
Vous n’agirez donc pas comme nous le faisons maintenant ici, où chacun fait ce qui lui semble bon,
9 For not you have come until now to the resting place and to the inheritance which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you.
parce que vous n’êtes point encore arrivés dans le lieu de repos et dans l’héritage que l’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous donne.
10 And you will pass over the Jordan and you will dwell in the land which Yahweh God your [is] giving as an inheritance you and he will give rest to you from all enemies your from round about and you will dwell security.
Mais vous passerez le Jourdain, et vous habiterez dans le pays dont l’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous mettra en possession; il vous donnera du repos, après vous avoir délivrés de tous vos ennemis qui vous entourent, et vous vous établirez en sécurité.
11 And it will be the place which he will choose Yahweh God your it to cause to dwell name his there there towards you will bring all that I [am] commanding you burnt offerings your and sacrifices your tithes your and [the] contribution of hand your and all [the] choicest of votive offerings your which you will vow to Yahweh.
Alors il y aura un lieu que l’Éternel, votre Dieu, choisira pour y faire résider son nom. C’est là que vous présenterez tout ce que je vous ordonne, vos holocaustes, vos sacrifices, vos dîmes, vos prémices, et les offrandes choisies que vous ferez à l’Éternel pour accomplir vos vœux.
12 And you will rejoice before Yahweh God your you and sons your and daughters your and [male] servants your and female servants your and the Levite who [is] in gates your for not [belongs] to him a portion and an inheritance with you.
C’est là que vous vous réjouirez devant l’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous, vos fils et vos filles, vos serviteurs et vos servantes, et le Lévite qui sera dans vos portes; car il n’a ni part ni héritage avec vous.
13 Take heed to yourself lest you should offer up burnt offerings your in every place which you will see.
Garde-toi d’offrir tes holocaustes dans tous les lieux que tu verras;
14 That except in the place which he will choose Yahweh in one of tribes your there you will offer up burnt offerings your and there you will do all that I [am] commanding you.
mais tu offriras tes holocaustes au lieu que l’Éternel choisira dans l’une de tes tribus, et c’est là que tu feras tout ce que je t’ordonne.
15 Only in all [the] desire of self your you will slaughter - and you will eat meat according to [the] blessing of Yahweh God your which he has given to you in all gates your the unclean and the clean he will eat it like gazelle and like deer.
Néanmoins, quand tu en auras le désir, tu pourras tuer du bétail et manger de la viande dans toutes tes portes, selon les bénédictions que t’accordera l’Éternel, ton Dieu; celui qui sera impur et celui qui sera pur pourront en manger, comme on mange de la gazelle et du cerf.
16 Only the blood not you must eat on the ground you will pour out it like water.
Seulement, vous ne mangerez pas le sang: tu le répandras sur la terre comme de l’eau.
17 Not you will be able to eat in gates your [the] tithe of grain your and new wine your and fresh oil your and [the] firstborn of herd your and flock your and all votive offerings your which you will vow and freewill offerings your and [the] contribution of hand your.
Tu ne pourras pas manger dans tes portes la dîme de ton blé, de ton moût et de ton huile, ni les premiers-nés de ton gros et de ton menu bétail, ni aucune de tes offrandes en accomplissement d’un vœu, ni tes offrandes volontaires, ni tes prémices.
18 That except before Yahweh God your you will eat it in the place which he will choose Yahweh God your it you and son your and daughter your and [male] servant your and female servant your and the Levite who [is] in gates your and you will rejoice before Yahweh God your in every undertaking of hand your.
Mais c’est devant l’Éternel, ton Dieu, que tu les mangeras, dans le lieu que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, choisira, toi, ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, et le Lévite qui sera dans tes portes; et c’est devant l’Éternel, ton Dieu, que tu feras servir à ta joie tous les biens que tu posséderas.
19 Take heed to yourself lest you should neglect the Levite all days your on land your.
Aussi longtemps que tu vivras dans ton pays, garde-toi de délaisser le Lévite.
20 If he will enlarge Yahweh God your territory your just as he spoke to you and you will say I want to eat meat for it will desire appetite your to eat meat in all [the] desire appetite your you will eat meat.
Lorsque l’Éternel, ton Dieu, aura élargi tes frontières, comme il te l’a promis, et que le désir de manger de la viande te fera dire: Je voudrais manger de la viande! Tu pourras en manger, selon ton désir.
21 If it will be [too] far for you the place where he will choose Yahweh God your to put name his there and you will slaughter some of herd your and some of flock your which he has given Yahweh to you just as I commanded you and you will eat in gates your in all [the] desire of self your.
Si le lieu que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, aura choisi pour y placer son nom est éloigné de toi, tu pourras tuer du gros et du menu bétail, comme je te l’ai prescrit, et tu pourras en manger dans tes portes selon ton désir.
22 Surely just as it is eaten the gazelle and the deer so you will eat it the unclean and the clean alike he will eat it.
Tu en mangeras comme on mange de la gazelle et du cerf; celui qui sera impur, et celui qui sera pur en mangeront l’un et l’autre.
23 Only be strong to not to eat the blood for the blood it [is] the life and not you must eat the life with the meat.
Seulement, garde-toi de manger le sang, car le sang, c’est l’âme; et tu ne mangeras pas l’âme avec la chair.
24 Not you must eat it on the ground you will pour out it like water.
Tu ne le mangeras pas: tu le répandras sur la terre comme de l’eau.
25 Not you must eat it so that it may go well for you and for children your after you for you will do the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh.
Tu ne le mangeras pas, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, en faisant ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel.
26 Only holy things your which they will belong to you and votive offerings your you will take and you will go to the place which he will choose Yahweh.
Mais les choses que tu voudras consacrer et les offrandes que tu feras en accomplissement d’un vœu, tu iras les présenter au lieu qu’aura choisi l’Éternel.
27 And you will make burnt offerings your the flesh and the blood on [the] altar of Yahweh God your and [the] blood of sacrifices your it will be poured out on [the] altar of Yahweh God your and the flesh you will eat.
Tu offriras tes holocaustes, la chair et le sang, sur l’autel de l’Éternel, ton Dieu; dans tes autres sacrifices, le sang sera répandu sur l’autel de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu mangeras la chair.
28 Take care and you will hear all the words these which I [am] commanding you so that it may go well for you and for children your after you until perpetuity for you will do the good [thing] and the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh God your.
Garde et écoute toutes ces choses que je t’ordonne, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, à perpétuité, en faisant ce qui est bien et ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel, ton Dieu.
29 If he will cut off Yahweh God your the nations where you [are] about to go there towards by dispossessing them from before you and you will dispossess them and you will dwell in land their.
Lorsque l’Éternel, ton Dieu, aura exterminé les nations que tu vas chasser devant toi, lorsque tu les auras chassées et que tu te seras établi dans leur pays,
30 Take heed to yourself lest you should be ensnared after them after have been destroyed they from before you and lest you should enquire of gods their saying how? do they serve the nations these gods their so I may do thus also I.
garde-toi de te laisser prendre au piège en les imitant, après qu’elles auront été détruites devant toi. Garde-toi de t’informer de leurs dieux et de dire: Comment ces nations servaient-elles leurs dieux? Moi aussi, je veux faire de même.
31 Not you will do thus to Yahweh God your for every abomination of Yahweh which he hates they have done to gods their for also sons their and daughters their they burn with fire to gods their.
Tu n’agiras pas ainsi à l’égard de l’Éternel, ton Dieu; car elles servaient leurs dieux en faisant toutes les abominations qui sont odieuses à l’Éternel, et même elles brûlaient au feu leurs fils et leurs filles en l’honneur de leurs dieux.
32 Every word which I [am] commanding you it you will take care to do not you must add to it and not you must diminish from it.
Vous observerez et vous mettrez en pratique toutes les choses que je vous ordonne; vous n’y ajouterez rien, et vous n’en retrancherez rien.
