Deuteronomy 11
1 And you will love Yahweh God your and you will keep command his and statutes his and judgments his and commandments his all the days.
C'est pourquoi tu aimeras l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu observeras toujours ses instructions, ses lois, ses ordonnances et ses commandements.
2 And you will know this day that - not children your who not they have known and who not they have seen [the] training of Yahweh God your greatness his hand his mighty and arm his outstretched.
Sachez aujourd'hui, car je ne parle pas à vos enfants qui n'ont pas connu et qui n'ont pas vu le châtiment de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, sa grandeur, sa main puissante, son bras étendu,
3 And signs his and deeds his which he did in [the] midst of Egypt to Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and to all land his.
ses signes et ses œuvres, qu'il a faits au milieu de l'Égypte à Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et à tout son pays,
4 And which he did to [the] army of Egypt to horses its and to chariotry its when he caused to flow [the] water of [the] sea of reed[s] over faces their when pursued they after you and he destroyed them Yahweh until the day this.
et ce qu'il a fait à l'armée d'Égypte, à ses chevaux et à ses chars; comment il a fait déborder les eaux de la mer Rouge pendant qu'ils vous poursuivaient, et comment Yahvé les a détruits jusqu'à ce jour;
5 And which he did to you in the wilderness until came you to the place this.
et ce qu'il vous a fait dans le désert jusqu'à ce que vous arriviez en ce lieu;
6 And which he did to Dathan and to Abiram [the] sons of Eliab [the] son of Reuben when it opened the earth mouth its and it swallowed them and households their and tents their and all the substance which [was] at feet their in [the] midst of all Israel.
et ce qu'il a fait à Dathan et Abiram, fils d'Eliab, fils de Ruben, comment la terre a ouvert sa bouche et les a engloutis, avec leurs maisons, leurs tentes et tout ce qui vivait à leur suite, au milieu de tout Israël;
7 For eyes your [are] the [ones which] saw all [the] work of Yahweh great which he did.
mais tes yeux ont vu toute la grandeur de l'œuvre de Yahvé.
8 And you will keep all the commandment which I [am] commanding you this day so that you may be strong and you will go and you will take possession of the land where you [are] about to pass over there towards to take possession of it.
Tu observeras donc tout le commandement que je te prescris aujourd'hui, afin que tu sois fort, que tu entres en possession du pays dont tu vas prendre possession,
9 And so that you may prolong days on the land which he swore Yahweh to ancestors your to give to them and to offspring their a land flowing of milk and honey.
et que tu prolonges tes jours dans le pays que Yahvé a juré à tes pères de leur donner, à eux et à leur postérité, un pays où coulent le lait et le miel.
10 For the land where you [are] about to go there towards to take possession of it not [is] like [the] land of Egypt it where you came out from there where you sowed seed your and you watered [it] with foot your like [the] garden of vegetable[s].
Car le pays dont tu vas entrer en possession n'est pas comme le pays d'Égypte d'où tu es sorti, où tu as semé ta semence et arrosé de ton pied, comme un jardin d'herbes aromatiques;
11 And the land where you [are] about to pass over there towards to take possession of it [is] a land of mountains and valleys to [the] rain of the heavens it drinks water.
mais le pays dont tu vas entrer en possession est un pays de collines et de vallées qui boit l'eau de la pluie du ciel,
12 A land which Yahweh God your [is] caring for it continually [the] eyes of Yahweh God your [are] on it from [the] beginning of the year and until [the] end of a year.
un pays dont Yahvé ton Dieu prend soin. L'Éternel, ton Dieu, a toujours les yeux sur lui, depuis le début de l'année jusqu'à la fin de l'année.
13 And it will be certainly [if] you will obey commandments my which I [am] commanding you this day to love Yahweh God your and to serve him with all heart your and with all being your.
Si tu écoutes attentivement les commandements que je te prescris aujourd'hui, si tu aimes l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et si tu le sers de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme,
14 And I will give [the] rain of land your at appropriate time its autumn rain and spring rain and you will gather grain your and new wine your and fresh oil your.
je donnerai à ton pays la pluie en son temps, la pluie de l'aube et la pluie de l'arrière-saison, pour que tu recueilles ton blé, ton moût et ton huile.
15 And I will give grass in field[s] your for cattle your and you will eat and you will be satisfied.
Je donnerai de l'herbe dans tes champs pour ton bétail, et tu mangeras et te rassasieras.
16 Take heed to yourselves lest it should be deceived heart your and you will turn aside and you will serve gods other and you will bow down to them.
Prends garde que ton cœur ne se laisse tromper, et que tu ne te détournes pour servir d'autres dieux et te prosterner devant eux;
17 And it will burn [the] anger of Yahweh on you and he will shut up the heavens and not it will come rain and the ground not it will yield produce its and you will perish quickly from on the land good which Yahweh [is] about to give to you.
et que la colère de l'Éternel ne s'enflamme contre toi, qu'il ne ferme le ciel, qu'il n'y ait pas de pluie, que la terre ne donne pas son fruit, et que tu ne périsses rapidement du bon pays que l'Éternel te donne.
18 And you will put words my these on heart your and on being your and you will tie them for a sign on hand your and they will be for marks between eyes your.
C'est pourquoi tu garderas ces paroles que je te dis dans ton cœur et dans ton âme. Tu les lieras comme un signe sur ta main, et elles seront comme des fronteaux entre tes yeux.
19 And you will teach them children your by speaking in them when sitting you in house your and when walking you on the road and when lying down you and when rising up you.
Tu les enseigneras à tes enfants, et tu en parleras quand tu seras assis dans ta maison, quand tu iras en chemin, quand tu te coucheras et quand tu te lèveras.
20 And you will write them on [the] doorposts of house your and on gates your.
Tu les écriras sur les montants de ta maison et sur tes portes,
21 So that they may increase days your and [the] days of children your on the land which he swore Yahweh to ancestors your to give to them like [the] days of the heavens above the earth.
afin que tes jours et les jours de tes enfants soient multipliés dans le pays que l'Éternel a juré à tes pères de leur donner, comme les jours des cieux au-dessus de la terre.
22 That except certainly you will keep! all the commandment this which I [am] commanding you to do it to love Yahweh God your to walk in all ways his and to cleave to him.
En effet, si tu observes tous les commandements que je te prescris, si tu les mets en pratique, si tu aimes Yahvé ton Dieu, si tu marches dans toutes ses voies et si tu t'attaches à lui,
23 And he will dispossess Yahweh all the nations these from to before you and you will dispossess nations great and mighty more than you.
alors Yahvé chassera toutes ces nations devant toi, et tu déposséderas des nations plus grandes et plus puissantes que toi.
24 Every place which it will tread [the] sole of foot your on it to you it will belong from the wilderness and Lebanon from the River [the] river of Euphrates and to the sea western it will be territory your.
Tout lieu que foulera la plante de ton pied sera à toi: depuis le désert et le Liban, depuis le fleuve, l'Euphrate, jusqu'à la mer occidentale, ce sera ta frontière.
25 Not he will stand anyone in faces your dread your and fear your he will put - Yahweh God your over [the] face of all the land which you will tread on it just as he spoke to you.
Aucun homme ne pourra se tenir devant toi. L'Éternel, ton Dieu, fera régner la crainte et l'effroi sur tout le pays que tu fouleras, comme il te l'a dit.
26 See I [am] setting before you this day a blessing and a curse.
Voici, je mets aujourd'hui devant toi une bénédiction et une malédiction:
27 The blessing that you will obey [the] commandments of Yahweh God your which I [am] commanding you this day.
la bénédiction, si tu écoutes les commandements de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, que je te prescris aujourd'hui;
28 And the curse if not you will obey [the] commandments of Yahweh God your and you will turn aside from the way which I [am] commanding you this day to walk after gods other which not you have known.
et la malédiction, si tu n'écoutes pas les commandements de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et si tu te détournes de la voie que je te prescris aujourd'hui, pour aller après d'autres dieux que tu n'as pas connus.
29 And it will be that he will bring you Yahweh God your into the land where you [are] about to go there towards to take possession of it and you will set the blessing on [the] mountain of Gerizim and the curse on [the] mountain of Ebal.
Lorsque Yahvé ton Dieu te fera entrer dans le pays dont tu vas prendre possession, tu placeras la bénédiction sur le mont Gerizim et la malédiction sur le mont Ebal.
30 ¿ Not [are] they on [the] other side of the Jordan behind [the] direction of [the] setting of the sun in [the] land of the Canaanite[s] who is dwelling in the Arabah opposite to Gilgal beside [the] great trees of Moreh.
Ne sont-ils pas de l'autre côté du Jourdain, derrière le chemin du soleil couchant, dans le pays des Cananéens qui habitent la plaine, près de Gilgal, à côté des chênes de Moreh?
31 For you [are] about to pass over the Jordan to go to take possession of the land which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you and you will take possession of it and you will dwell in it.
Car vous allez passer le Jourdain pour entrer en possession du pays que Yahvé votre Dieu vous donne, vous le posséderez et vous y habiterez.
32 And you will take care to observe all the statutes and the judgments which I [am] setting before you this day.
Tu observeras et tu mettras en pratique toutes les lois et les ordonnances que je mets aujourd'hui devant toi.
