Daniel 4

1 Nebuchadnezzar king the to all peoples the nations the and languages the which ([are] dwelling *Q(k)*) in all earth the peace your may it increase.

Jag, Nebukadnessar, satt i god ro i mitt hus och levde lycklig i mitt palats. 2; Då hade jag en dröm som förskräckte mig; jag ängslades genom drömbilder på mitt läger och genom en syn som jag såg.

2 Signs the and wonders the which he has done with me God (Most High the *Q(k)*) it seemed good before me to declare.

3 [are] signs His how much! great and [are] wonders his how much! strong kingdom his [is] a kingdom of perpetuity and dominion his [is] with generation and generation.

Därför gav jag befallning att man skulle hämta alla de vise i Babel till mig, för att de skulle säga mig drömmens uttydning.

4 I Nebuchadnezzar at ease I was in house my and flourishing in palace my.

Så kommo nu spåmännen, besvärjarna, kaldéerna och stjärntydarna, och jag förtäljde drömmen för dem, men de kunde icke säga mig dess uttydning.

5 A dream I saw and it made afraid me and imaginings on bed my and [the] visions of head my they alarmed me.

Slutligen kom ock Daniel inför mig, han som hade fått namnet Beltesassar efter min guds namn, och i vilken heliga gudars ande är; och jag förtäljde drömmen för honom sålunda:

6 And from me it was made a decree to bring in before me all [the] wise men of Babylon that [the] interpretation of dream the they will make known to me.

»Beltesassar, du som är den överste bland spåmännen, du om vilken jag vet att heliga gudars ande är i dig, och att ingen hemlighet är dig för svår, säg mig vad jag såg i min dröm, och vad den betyder.

7 Then ([were] going in *Q(k)*) magicians the conjurers the (Chaldeans the *Q(K)*) and astrologers the and dream the [was] saying I before them and interpretation its not [they were] making known to me.

Detta var den syn jag hade på mitt läger: Jag såg i min syn ett träd stå mitt på jorden, och det var mycket högt.

8 And until at last he came in before me Daniel who name his [is] Belteshazzar like [the] name of god my and who a spirit of gods holy [is] in him and dream the before him I said.

Ja, stort och väldigt var trädet, och så högt att det räckte upp till himmelen och syntes allt intill jordens ända.

9 O Belteshazzar [the] chief of magicians the whom - I I know that a spirit of gods holy [is] in you and any secret not [is] oppressing you [the] visions of dream my which I saw and interpretation its tell!

Dess lövverk var skönt, och de bar mycken frukt, så att det hade föda åt alla. Markens djur funno skugga därunder, och himmelens fåglar bodde på dess grenar, och allt kött hade sin föda därav.

10 And [the] visions of head my on bed my seeing I was and lo! a tree in [the] midst of land the and height its [was] great.

Vidare såg jag, i den syn jag hade på mitt läger, huru en helig ängel steg ned från himmelen.

11 It grew great tree the and it grew strong and height its it reached to heavens the and [the] sight of it [was] to [the] end of all land the.

Han ropade med hög röst och sade: 'Huggen ned trädet och skären av dess grenar, riven bort dess lövverk och förströn dess frukt, så att djuren som ligga därunder fara sin väg och fåglarna flyga bort ifrån dess grenar.

12 Foliage its [was] beautiful and fruit its [was] plentiful and food for all [was] on it under it it had shade - [the] animal[s] of field the and in branches its (they nested *Q(K)*) [the] birds of heavens the and from it it fed all flesh.

Dock må stubben med rötterna lämnas kvar i jorden, bunden med kedjor av järn och koppar, bland markens gräs; av himmelens dagg skall han vätas och hava sin lott med djuren bland markens örter.

13 Seeing I was in [the] visions of head my on bed my and lo! a watcher and a holy [one] from heavens the [was] coming down.

Hans hjärta skall förvandlas, så att det icke mer är en människas, och ett djurs hjärta skall givas åt honom, och sju tider skola så gå fram över honom.

14 [he was] proclaiming With power and as follows [he was] saying cut down! tree the and cut off! branches its strip off! foliage its and scatter! fruit its let it flee animal[s] the from under it and birds the from branches its.

Så är det förordnat genom änglarnas rådslut, och så är det befallt om denna sak av de heliga, för att de levande skola besinna att den Högste råder över människors riken och giver dem åt vem han vill, ja, upphöjer den lägste bland människor till att härska över dem.'

15 Nevertheless [the] stump of roots its in ground the leave! and with a fetter of iron and bronze in grass the of field the and with [the] dew of heavens the let it become wet and [be] with animal[s] the portion its in [the] grass of earth the.

Sådan var den dröm som jag, konung Nebukadnessar, hade. Och du, Beltesassar, må nu säga uttydningen; ty ingen av de vise i mitt rike kan säga mig uttydningen, men du kan det väl, ty heliga gudars ande är i dig.»

16 Heart its away from (human the *Q(k)*) let it be changed and [the] heart of an animal let it be given to it and seven times let them pass over it.

Då stod Daniel, som också hade namnet Beltesassar, en stund häpen, uppfylld av oroliga tankar. Men konungen tog åter till orda och sade: »Beltesassar, låt icke drömmen och vad den betyder förskräcka dig. Beltesassar svarade och sade: »Min herre, o att drömmen gällde dem som hata dig, och dess betydelse dina fiender!

17 [is] by [the] decree of Watchers command the and [is by the] word of holy [ones] affair the to [the] cause that they will know living [people] the that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of (human the *Q(k)*) and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it and a lowly [one] of humankind he will set up (over it. *Q(k)*)

Trädet som du såg, vilket var så stort och väldigt och så högt att det räckte upp till himmelen och syntes över hela jorden,

18 This dream the I saw I king the Nebuchadnezzar (and you *Q(k)*) O Belteshazzar interpretation its - tell! as to because that - all [the] wise men of kingdom my not [are] able interpretation the to make known to me (and you *Q(k)*) [are] able who a spirit of gods holy [is] in you.

och som hade ett så skönt lövverk och bar mycken frukt, så att det hade föda åt alla, trädet under vilket markens djur bodde, och på vars grenar himmelens fåglar hade sina nästen,

19 Then Daniel who name his [was] Belteshazzar he was appalled about a moment one and thoughts his they alarmed him [was] replying king the and [was] saying O Belteshazzar dream the and interpretation its may not it alarm you [was] replying Belteshazzar and [was] saying (O lord my *Q(k)*) dream the ([be] for enemy your *Q(K)*) and interpretation its ([be] for adversaries your. *Q(k)*)

det är du själv, o konung, du som har blivit så stor och väldig, du vilkens storhet har vuxit, till dess att den har nått upp till himmelen, och vilkens välde sträcker sig till jordens ända.

20 Tree the which you saw which it grew great and it grew strong and height its it reached to heavens the and [the] sight of it [was] to all land the.

Men att konungen såg en helig ängel stiga ned från himmelen, vilken sade: 'Huggen ned trädet och förstören det; dock må stubben med rötterna lämnas kvar i jorden, bunden med kedjor av järn och koppar, bland markens gräs; av himmelens dagg skall han vätas och hava sin lott med markens djur, till dess att sju tider hava gått fram över honom',

21 And foliage its [was] beautiful and fruit its [was] plentiful and food for all [was] on it under it it dwelt [the] animal[s] of field the and in branches its they dwelt [the] birds of heavens the.

detta betyder följande, o konung, och detta är den Högstes rådslut, som har drabbat min herre konungen:

22 ([is] you *Q(k)*) It king O who you have grown great and you have grown strong and greatness your it has grown great and it has reached to heavens the and dominion your [is] to [the] end earth the.

Du skall bliva utstött från människorna och nödgas bo ibland markens djur och äta gräs såsom en oxe och vätas av himmelens dagg; och sju tider skola så gå fram över dig, till dess du besinnar att den Högste råder över människors riken och giver dem åt vem han vill.

23 And that he saw king the a watcher and a holy [one] coming down - from heavens the and saying cut down! tree the and destroy it nevertheless [the] stump of roots its in ground the leave! and with a fetter of iron and bronze in grass the of field the and with [the] dew of heavens the let it become wet and [be] with [the] animal[s] of field the portion its until that seven times they will pass over it.

Men att det befalldes att trädets stubbe med rötterna skulle lämnas kvar, det betyder att du skall återfå ditt rike, när du har besinnat att det är himmelen som har makten.

24 This [is] interpretation the king O and [is] [the] decree of (Most High the *Q(k)*) it which it has reached to (lord my *Q(k)*) king the.

Därför, o konung, må du låta mitt råd täckas dig: gör dig fri ifrån dina synder genom att göra gott, och ifrån dina missgärningar genom att öva barmhärtighet mot de fattiga, om till äventyrs din lycka så kunde bliva beståndande.»

25 And you [they will be] chasing away from humankind and with [the] animal[s] of field the it will be dwelling place your and grass like oxen - to you they will feed and from [the] dew of heavens the you [they will be] making wet and seven times they will pass (over you *Q(k)*) until that you will know that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of humankind and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it.

Allt detta drabbade också konung Nebukadnessar.

26 And that they said to leave [the] stump of roots its of tree the kingdom your to you [will be] enduring from that you will know that [are] having mastery heavens the.

Tolv månader därefter, när konungen en gång gick omkring på taket av det kungliga palatset i Babel,

27 Therefore king O advice my let it be acceptable (to you *Q(k)*) (and sin your *Q(K)*) by right doing break off! and iniquities your by showing mercy to poor people whether it will be a prolonging of prosperity your.

hov han upp sin röst och sade: »Se, detta är det stora Babel, som jag har byggt upp till ett konungasäte genom min väldiga makt, min härlighet till ära!»

28 Everything it came on Nebuchadnezzar king the.

Medan ordet ännu var i konungens mun, kom en röst från himmelen: »Dig, konung Nebukadnessar, vare det sagt: Ditt rike har blivit taget ifrån dig;

29 To [the] end of months two [plus] ten on [the] palace of kingdom the of Babylon walking about he was.

du skall bliva utstött från människorna och nödgas bo ibland markens djur och äta gräs såsom en oxe; och sju tider skola så gå fram över dig, till dess du besinnar att den Högste råder över människors riken och giver dem åt vem han vill.»

30 [was] replying King the and [was] saying ¿ not [is] this it Babylon great which I I built it to a house of a kingdom by [the] strength of power my and for [the] honor of majesty my.

I samma stund gick det ordet i fullbordan på Nebukadnessar; han blev utstött från människorna och måste äta gräs såsom en oxe, och av himmelens dagg vättes hans kropp, till dess att hans hår växte och blev såsom örnfjädrar, och till dess att hans naglar blevo såsom fågelklor.

31 Still word the [was] in [the] mouth of king the a voice from heavens the it fell to you [they are] saying O Nebuchadnezzar king the kingdom the it has passed away from you.

Men när tiden var förliden, upplyfte jag, Nebukadnessar, mina ögon till himmelen och fick åter mitt förstånd. Då lovade jag den Högste, jag prisade och ärade honom som lever evinnerligen, honom vilkens välde är ett evigt välde, och vilkens rike varar från släkte till släkte,

32 And away from humankind you [they are] about to chase and [will be] with [the] animal[s] of field the dwelling place your grass like oxen to you they will feed and seven times they will pass (over you *Q(k)*) until that you will know that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of humankind and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it.

honom mot vilken alla som bo på jorden äro att akta såsom intet, ty han gör vad han vill både med himmelens här och med dem som bo på jorden, och ingen kan stå emot hans hand eller säga till honom: »Vad gör du?»

33 At it moment the word the it was fulfilled on Nebuchadnezzar and away from humankind he was chased and grass like oxen he ate and from [the] dew of heavens the body his it became wet until that hair his like eagles it grew long and nails his [were] like birds.

Så fick jag då på den tiden åter mitt förstånd, och jag fick tillbaka min härlighet och glans, mitt rike till ära; och mina rådsherrar och stormän sökte upp mig. Och jag blev åter insatt i mitt rike, och ännu större makt blev mig given.

34 And to [the] end of days the I Nebuchadnezzar eye my - to heavens the I lifted and understanding my on me it returned (and Most High the *Q(k)*) I blessed and [the] [one] living of perpetuity I praised and I glorified that dominion his [is] a dominion of perpetuity and kingdom his [is] with generation and generation.

Därför prisar nu jag, Nebukadnessar, och upphöjer och ärar himmelens konung, ty alla hans gärningar äro sanning, och hans vägar äro rätta, och dem som vandra i högmod kan han ödmjuka.

35 And all ([the] inhabitants of *Q(k)*) earth the [are] as not considered and as pleases he [he is] doing with [the] army of heavens the (and [the] inhabitants of *Q(k)*) earth the and not there [is] who he will strike on hand his so he may say to him what? have you done.

36 At it time the understanding my - it returned to me and to [the] honor of kingdom my majesty my and splendor my it returned to me and me counselors my and nobles my they sought and over kingdom my it was established and greatness surpassing it was added to me.

37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar [am] praising and [am] lifting up and [am] glorifying [the] king of heavens the who all deeds his [are] truth and ways his [are] justice and [those] who [are] walking in pride [he is] able to bring low.
