Daniel 4

1 Nebuchadnezzar king the to all peoples the nations the and languages the which ([are] dwelling *Q(k)*) in all earth the peace your may it increase.

Nebucadnetsar, le roi, à tous les peuples, peuplades et langues, qui habitent sur toute la terre: Que votre paix soit multipliée!

2 Signs the and wonders the which he has done with me God (Most High the *Q(k)*) it seemed good before me to declare.

Il m’a semblé bon de faire connaître les signes et les prodiges que le Dieu Très-haut a opérés à mon égard.

3 [are] signs His how much! great and [are] wonders his how much! strong kingdom his [is] a kingdom of perpetuity and dominion his [is] with generation and generation.

Ses signes, combien ils sont grands! Et ses prodiges, combien ils sont puissants! Son royaume est un royaume éternel, et sa domination est de génération en génération.

4 I Nebuchadnezzar at ease I was in house my and flourishing in palace my.

Moi, Nebucadnetsar, j’étais en paix dans ma maison, et florissant dans mon palais.

5 A dream I saw and it made afraid me and imaginings on bed my and [the] visions of head my they alarmed me.

Je vis un songe, et il m’effraya, et les pensées que j’avais sur mon lit, et les visions de ma tête, me troublèrent.

6 And from me it was made a decree to bring in before me all [the] wise men of Babylon that [the] interpretation of dream the they will make known to me.

Et de par moi fut donné un ordre qu’on amène devant moi tous les sages de Babylone pour qu’ils me fassent connaître l’interprétation du songe.

7 Then ([were] going in *Q(k)*) magicians the conjurers the (Chaldeans the *Q(K)*) and astrologers the and dream the [was] saying I before them and interpretation its not [they were] making known to me.

Alors vinrent les devins, les enchanteurs, les Chaldéens, et les augures; et je dis le songe devant eux, mais ils ne m’en firent pas connaître l’interprétation;

8 And until at last he came in before me Daniel who name his [is] Belteshazzar like [the] name of god my and who a spirit of gods holy [is] in him and dream the before him I said.

mais, à la fin, entra devant moi Daniel, dont le nom est Belteshatsar, selon le nom de mon dieu, et en qui est l’esprit des dieux saints; et je dis le songe devant lui.

9 O Belteshazzar [the] chief of magicians the whom - I I know that a spirit of gods holy [is] in you and any secret not [is] oppressing you [the] visions of dream my which I saw and interpretation its tell!

Belteshatsar, chef des devins, puisque je sais que l’esprit des dieux saints est en toi, et qu’aucun secret ne t’embarrasse, dis-moi les visions du songe que j’ai vu, et son interprétation.

10 And [the] visions of head my on bed my seeing I was and lo! a tree in [the] midst of land the and height its [was] great.

Or les visions de ma tête, sur mon lit, [étaient celles-ci]: je voyais, et voici, un arbre au milieu de la terre, et sa hauteur était grande.

11 It grew great tree the and it grew strong and height its it reached to heavens the and [the] sight of it [was] to [the] end of all land the.

L’arbre crût et devint fort, et sa hauteur atteignit jusqu’aux cieux, et on le voyait jusqu’au bout de toute la terre.

12 Foliage its [was] beautiful and fruit its [was] plentiful and food for all [was] on it under it it had shade - [the] animal[s] of field the and in branches its (they nested *Q(K)*) [the] birds of heavens the and from it it fed all flesh.

Son feuillage était beau et son fruit abondant, et en lui il y avait de la nourriture pour tous; sous son ombre se tenaient les bêtes des champs, et dans ses branches habitaient les oiseaux des cieux; et de lui toute chair se nourrissait.

13 Seeing I was in [the] visions of head my on bed my and lo! a watcher and a holy [one] from heavens the [was] coming down.

Je voyais, dans les visions de ma tête, sur mon lit, et voici un veillant, un saint, descendit des cieux.

14 [he was] proclaiming With power and as follows [he was] saying cut down! tree the and cut off! branches its strip off! foliage its and scatter! fruit its let it flee animal[s] the from under it and birds the from branches its.

Il cria avec force, et dit ainsi: Abattez l’arbre et coupez ses branches, faites tomber son feuillage et dispersez son fruit; que les bêtes s’enfuient de dessous lui, et les oiseaux, de ses branches.

15 Nevertheless [the] stump of roots its in ground the leave! and with a fetter of iron and bronze in grass the of field the and with [the] dew of heavens the let it become wet and [be] with animal[s] the portion its in [the] grass of earth the.

Toutefois, laissez dans la terre le tronc de ses racines, avec un lien de fer et d’airain [autour de lui], dans l’herbe des champs; et qu’il soit baigné de la rosée des cieux, et qu’il ait, avec les bêtes, sa part à l’herbe de la terre;

16 Heart its away from (human the *Q(k)*) let it be changed and [the] heart of an animal let it be given to it and seven times let them pass over it.

que son cœur d’homme soit changé, et qu’un cœur de bête lui soit donné; et que sept temps passent sur lui.

17 [is] by [the] decree of Watchers command the and [is by the] word of holy [ones] affair the to [the] cause that they will know living [people] the that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of (human the *Q(k)*) and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it and a lowly [one] of humankind he will set up (over it. *Q(k)*)

Cette sentence est par le décret des veillants, et la chose, par la parole des saints, afin que les vivants sachent que le Très-haut domine sur le royaume des hommes, et qu’il le donne à qui il veut, et y élève le plus vil des hommes.

18 This dream the I saw I king the Nebuchadnezzar (and you *Q(k)*) O Belteshazzar interpretation its - tell! as to because that - all [the] wise men of kingdom my not [are] able interpretation the to make known to me (and you *Q(k)*) [are] able who a spirit of gods holy [is] in you.

Ce songe, moi, le roi Nebucadnetsar, je l’ai vu; et toi, Belteshatsar, dis-en l’interprétation, puisque tous les sages de mon royaume n’ont pas pu me faire connaître l’interprétation; mais toi, tu le peux, car l’esprit des dieux saints est en toi.

19 Then Daniel who name his [was] Belteshazzar he was appalled about a moment one and thoughts his they alarmed him [was] replying king the and [was] saying O Belteshazzar dream the and interpretation its may not it alarm you [was] replying Belteshazzar and [was] saying (O lord my *Q(k)*) dream the ([be] for enemy your *Q(K)*) and interpretation its ([be] for adversaries your. *Q(k)*)

Alors Daniel, dont le nom est Belteshatsar, fut stupéfié pour une heure environ, et ses pensées le troublèrent. Le roi prit la parole et dit: Belteshatsar, que le songe et son interprétation ne te troublent pas. Belteshatsar répondit et dit: Mon seigneur! que le songe soit pour ceux qui te haïssent, et son interprétation pour tes ennemis.

20 Tree the which you saw which it grew great and it grew strong and height its it reached to heavens the and [the] sight of it [was] to all land the.

L’arbre que tu as vu, qui croissait et devenait fort, et dont la hauteur atteignait jusqu’aux cieux, et qu’on voyait de toute la terre,

21 And foliage its [was] beautiful and fruit its [was] plentiful and food for all [was] on it under it it dwelt [the] animal[s] of field the and in branches its they dwelt [the] birds of heavens the.

et dont le feuillage était beau et le fruit abondant, et qui avait de la nourriture pour tous, sous lequel habitaient les bêtes des champs, et dans les branches duquel demeuraient les oiseaux des cieux:

22 ([is] you *Q(k)*) It king O who you have grown great and you have grown strong and greatness your it has grown great and it has reached to heavens the and dominion your [is] to [the] end earth the.

c’est toi, ô roi, qui t’es agrandi et es devenu puissant; et ta grandeur s’est accrue et atteint jusqu’aux cieux, et ta domination, jusqu’au bout de la terre.

23 And that he saw king the a watcher and a holy [one] coming down - from heavens the and saying cut down! tree the and destroy it nevertheless [the] stump of roots its in ground the leave! and with a fetter of iron and bronze in grass the of field the and with [the] dew of heavens the let it become wet and [be] with [the] animal[s] of field the portion its until that seven times they will pass over it.

Et quant à ce que le roi a vu un veillant, un saint, descendre des cieux et dire: Abattez l’arbre et détruisez-le; toutefois laissez dans la terre le tronc de ses racines, avec un lien de fer et d’airain [autour de lui], dans l’herbe des champs, et qu’il soit baigné de la rosée des cieux, et qu’il ait sa part avec les bêtes des champs jusqu’à ce que sept temps passent sur lui, –

24 This [is] interpretation the king O and [is] [the] decree of (Most High the *Q(k)*) it which it has reached to (lord my *Q(k)*) king the.

c’est ici l’interprétation, ô roi, et la décision du Très-haut, ce qui va arriver au roi, mon seigneur:

25 And you [they will be] chasing away from humankind and with [the] animal[s] of field the it will be dwelling place your and grass like oxen - to you they will feed and from [the] dew of heavens the you [they will be] making wet and seven times they will pass (over you *Q(k)*) until that you will know that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of humankind and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it.

On te chassera du milieu des hommes, et ta demeure sera avec les bêtes des champs, et on te fera manger l’herbe comme les bœufs, et tu seras baigné de la rosée des cieux, et sept temps passeront sur toi, jusqu’à ce que tu connaisses que le Très-haut domine sur le royaume des hommes, et qu’il le donne à qui il veut.

26 And that they said to leave [the] stump of roots its of tree the kingdom your to you [will be] enduring from that you will know that [are] having mastery heavens the.

Et quant à ce qu’on a dit de laisser le tronc des racines de l’arbre, ton royaume te demeurera, quand tu auras connu que les cieux dominent.

27 Therefore king O advice my let it be acceptable (to you *Q(k)*) (and sin your *Q(K)*) by right doing break off! and iniquities your by showing mercy to poor people whether it will be a prolonging of prosperity your.

C’est pourquoi, ô roi, que mon conseil te soit agréable; et romps avec tes péchés par la justice, et avec ton iniquité, par la compassion envers les affligés, si ce peut être un prolongement de ta paix.

28 Everything it came on Nebuchadnezzar king the.

Tout cela arriva au roi Nebucadnetsar.

29 To [the] end of months two [plus] ten on [the] palace of kingdom the of Babylon walking about he was.

Au bout de douze mois, il se promenait sur le palais du royaume de Babylone.

30 [was] replying King the and [was] saying ¿ not [is] this it Babylon great which I I built it to a house of a kingdom by [the] strength of power my and for [the] honor of majesty my.

Le roi prit la parole et dit: N’est-ce pas ici Babylone la grande, que j’ai bâtie pour être la maison de mon royaume, par la puissance de ma force et pour la gloire de ma magnificence?

31 Still word the [was] in [the] mouth of king the a voice from heavens the it fell to you [they are] saying O Nebuchadnezzar king the kingdom the it has passed away from you.

La parole était encore dans la bouche du roi, qu’une voix tomba des cieux: Roi Nebucadnetsar, il t’est dit: Le royaume s’en est allé d’avec toi;

32 And away from humankind you [they are] about to chase and [will be] with [the] animal[s] of field the dwelling place your grass like oxen to you they will feed and seven times they will pass (over you *Q(k)*) until that you will know that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of humankind and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it.

et on te chassera du milieu des hommes, et ta demeure sera avec les bêtes des champs; on te fera manger de l’herbe comme les bœufs, et sept temps passeront sur toi, jusqu’à ce que tu connaisses que le Très-haut domine sur le royaume des hommes et qu’il le donne à qui il veut.

33 At it moment the word the it was fulfilled on Nebuchadnezzar and away from humankind he was chased and grass like oxen he ate and from [the] dew of heavens the body his it became wet until that hair his like eagles it grew long and nails his [were] like birds.

Au même instant la parole s’accomplit sur Nebucadnetsar: il fut chassé du milieu des hommes, et il mangea de l’herbe comme les bœufs, et son corps fut baigné de la rosée des cieux, jusqu’à ce que ses cheveux soient devenus longs comme [les plumes] de l’aigle, et ses ongles, comme ceux des oiseaux.

34 And to [the] end of days the I Nebuchadnezzar eye my - to heavens the I lifted and understanding my on me it returned (and Most High the *Q(k)*) I blessed and [the] [one] living of perpetuity I praised and I glorified that dominion his [is] a dominion of perpetuity and kingdom his [is] with generation and generation.

Et à la fin de ces jours, moi, Nebucadnetsar, j’élevai mes yeux vers les cieux, et mon intelligence me revint, et je bénis le Très-haut, et je louai et magnifiai celui qui vit éternellement, duquel la domination est une domination éternelle, et dont le royaume est de génération en génération;

35 And all ([the] inhabitants of *Q(k)*) earth the [are] as not considered and as pleases he [he is] doing with [the] army of heavens the (and [the] inhabitants of *Q(k)*) earth the and not there [is] who he will strike on hand his so he may say to him what? have you done.

et tous les habitants de la terre sont réputés comme néant, et il agit selon son bon plaisir dans l’armée des cieux et parmi les habitants de la terre; et il n’y a personne qui puisse arrêter sa main et lui dire: Que fais-tu?

36 At it time the understanding my - it returned to me and to [the] honor of kingdom my majesty my and splendor my it returned to me and me counselors my and nobles my they sought and over kingdom my it was established and greatness surpassing it was added to me.

Dans ce temps-là, mon intelligence me revint, et, pour la gloire de mon royaume, ma magnificence et ma splendeur me revinrent, et mes conseillers et mes grands me cherchèrent, et je fus rétabli dans mon royaume, et ma grandeur fut extraordinairement augmentée.

37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar [am] praising and [am] lifting up and [am] glorifying [the] king of heavens the who all deeds his [are] truth and ways his [are] justice and [those] who [are] walking in pride [he is] able to bring low.

Maintenant, moi, Nebucadnetsar, je loue et j’exalte et je magnifie le roi des cieux, dont toutes les œuvres sont vérité, et les voies, jugement, et qui est puissant pour abaisser ceux qui marchent avec orgueil.
