Daniel 1
1 In year three of [the] reign of Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah he came Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon Jerusalem and he laid siege on it.
En el tercer año del reinado de Joacim, rey de Judá, Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, llegó a Jerusalén y la sitió.
2 And he gave [the] Lord in hand his Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah and some of [the] end of [the] vessels of [the] house of God and he brought them [the] land of Shinar [the] house of god his and the vessels he brought [the] house of [the] treasury of god his.
El Señor entregó a Joacim, rey de Judá, con algunos de los utensilios de la casa de Dios; y los llevó a la tierra de Sinar, a la casa de su dios. Llevó los utensilios a la casa del tesoro de su dios.
3 And he said the king to Ashpenaz [the] chief of officials his to bring some of [the] people of Israel and some of [the] offspring of royalty and some of the nobles.
El rey habló con Aspenaz, el maestro de sus eunucos, para que trajera a algunos de los hijos de Israel, de la descendencia real y de los nobles
4 Youths whom not [was] in them any (blemish *Q(K)*) and good of appearance and having insight in all wisdom and knowing knowledge and understanding knowledge and whom ability [was] in them to stand in [the] palace of the king and to teach them [the] writing and [the] tongue of [the] Chaldeans.
jóvenes en los que no hubiera ningún defecto, sino que fueran bien dotados, diestros en toda sabiduría, dotados de conocimiento, que comprendieran la ciencia y que tuvieran la capacidad de estar en el palacio del rey; y que les enseñara la ciencia y la lengua de los caldeos.
5 And he assigned to them the king [the] matter of a day in day its some of [the] deli-caci[es] of the king and some of [the] wine of drink his and to bring up them years three and from [the] end their they will stand before the king.
El rey dispuso para ellos una porción diaria de los manjares del rey y del vino que él bebía, y que fueran alimentados durante tres años, para que al final de ellos estuvieran en pie ante el rey.
6 And he was among them from [the] people of Judah Daniel Hananiah Mishael and Azariah.
Entre estos hijos de Judá estaban Daniel, Ananías, Misael y Azarías.
7 And he assigned to them [the] chief of the officials names and he assigned to Daniel Belteshazzar and to Hananiah Shadrach and to Mishael Meshach and to Azariah Abed-nego.
El príncipe de los eunucos les dio nombres: a Daniel le puso el nombre de Beltsasar; a Ananías, el de Sadrac; a Misael, el de Mesac; y a Azarías, el de Abednego.
8 And he set Daniel on heart his that not he defiled himself with [the] delicaci[es] of the king and with [the] wine of drink his and he requested from [the] chief of the officials that not he will defile himself.
Pero Daniel se propuso en su corazón no contaminarse con los manjares del rey ni con el vino que bebía. Por eso pidió al príncipe de los eunucos que no se contaminara.
9 And he gave God Daniel favor and compassion before [the] chief of the officials.
Ahora bien, Dios hizo que Daniel encontrara bondad y compasión a los ojos del príncipe de los eunucos.
10 And he said [the] chief of the officials to Daniel [am] fearing I master my the king who he has assigned food your and drink your that why? will he see faces your looking thin more than the youths who [are] about age your and you will endanger head my to the king.
El príncipe de los eunucos dijo a Daniel: “Temo a mi señor el rey, que ha dispuesto tu comida y tu bebida. Pues, ¿por qué habría de ver vuestras caras más feas que las de los jóvenes de vuestra edad? Entonces pondrías en peligro mi cabeza ante el rey”.
11 And he said Daniel to the guardian whom he had assigned [the] chief of the officials over Daniel Hananiah Mishael and Azariah.
Entonces Daniel dijo al mayordomo que el príncipe de los eunucos había designado sobre Daniel, Ananías, Misael y Azarías:
12 Put to [the] test please servants your days ten so let people give to us some of the vegetables so we may eat and water so we may drink.
“Te ruego que pongas a prueba a tus siervos durante diez días, y que nos den verduras para comer y agua para beber.
13 And they may appear before you appearance our and [the] appearance of the youths who are eating [the] delicaci[es] of the king and just as you will see deal with servants your.
Entonces que se examinen nuestros rostros ante ti, y el de los jóvenes que comen de los manjares del rey; y según veas, trata a tus siervos.”
14 And he listened to them to the thing this and he put to [the] test them days ten.
Así que los escuchó en este asunto, y los puso a prueba durante diez días.
15 And from [the] end of days ten it appeared appearance their good and fat of flesh more than all the youths who were eating [the] delicaci[es] of the king.
Al cabo de diez días, sus rostros parecían más hermosos y estaban más gordos de carne que todos los jóvenes que comían de los manjares del rey.
16 And he was the guardian taking away delicaci[es] their and [the] wine of drink their and giving to them vegetables.
Entonces el mayordomo les quitó los manjares y el vino que les habían dado de beber, y les dio verduras.
17 And the youths these [the] four of them he gave to them God knowledge and insight in all writing and wisdom and Daniel he understood every vision and dreams.
En cuanto a estos cuatro jóvenes, Dios les dio conocimiento y destreza en todo tipo de aprendizaje y sabiduría; y Daniel tuvo entendimiento en todas las visiones y sueños.
18 And from [the] end of the days which he had said the king to bring them and he brought them [the] chief of the officials before Nebuchadnezzar.
Al cabo de los días que el rey había señalado para traerlos, el príncipe de los eunucos los llevó ante Nabucodonosor.
19 And he spoke with them the king and not he was found any of all of them like Daniel Hananiah Mishael and Azariah and they stood before the king.
El rey habló con ellos, y entre todos ellos no se encontró ninguno como Daniel, Ananías, Misael y Azarías. Por lo tanto, se presentaron ante el rey.
20 And every matter of wisdom of understanding which he sought from them the king and he found them ten hands above all the soothsayer-priests the conjurers who [were] in all kingdom his.
En todo asunto de sabiduría y entendimiento sobre el que el rey les preguntó, los encontró diez veces mejores que todos los magos y encantadores que había en todo su reino.
21 And he was Daniel until year one of Cyrus the king.
Daniel continuó hasta el primer año del rey Ciro.
