Amos 6
1 Woe to! the [people] at ease in Zion and those [who] trust in [the] mountain of Samaria [the] distinguished [people] of [the] first of the nations and they will come to them [the] house of Israel.
Wehe euch Sorglosen auf dem Zion und euch Zuversichtlichen auf dem Berge von Samaria, euch Adligen des Erstlings unter den Völkern, an welche das Haus Israel sich zu wenden pflegt!
2 Pass over Calneh and see and go from there Hamath-Rabbah and go down Gath of [the] Philistines ¿ [are they] good more than the kingdoms these or? great [is] territory their more than territory your.
Geht doch nach Kalne hinüber und seht es euch an, und wandert von dort weiter nach Groß-Hamath und steigt nach Gath im Philisterlande hinab: seid ihr besser als diese Reiche, oder ist euer Gebiet größer als das ihrige?
3 Those [who] push away a day evil and you have brought near! a seat of violence.
(Wehe denen, ) die den Tag des Unheils fern wähnen und doch den Stuhl der Gewalttat nahe heranrücken!
4 Those [who] lie on beds of ivory and [people] sprawled out on couches their and [those who] eat lambs from [the] flock and calves from [the] midst of [the] stall.
Die da auf Lagern von Elfenbein liegen und auf ihren Ruhebetten sich ausstrecken! Die da Lämmer aus der Herde weg schmausen und Kälber mitten aus dem Maststall!
5 Those [who] improvise on [the] mouth of the lyre like David they have devised for themselves instruments of song.
Die zum Klang der Harfe phantasieren und sich Musikinstrumente wie David erdenken!
6 Those [who] drink in bowls of wine and [the] best of oils they smear and not they were sickened on [the] ruin of (Joseph *L(abh)*)
Die den Wein aus Humpen trinken und mit den allerfeinsten Ölen sich salben! Die sich freuen über Lodabar, aber sich nicht härmen um den Untergang Josephs!
7 therefore now they will go into exile at [the] head of [those who] go into exile and it will come to an end [the] revelry of sprawled out [people].
Darum werden sie nunmehr an der Spitze der Gefangenen in die Gefangenschaft wandern: da wird denn das Jauchzen der träge Hingelagerten ein Ende haben.
8 He has sworn [the] Lord Yahweh by self his [the] utterance of Yahweh God of hosts [am] loathing I [the] pride of Jacob and fortresses his I hate and I will deliver up [the] city and what fills it.
»Geschworen hat Gott der HERR bei sich selbst« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN, des Gottes der Heerscharen –: »Ich verabscheue Jakobs Prunk und hasse seine Paläste und gebe die Stadt preis samt allem, was in ihr ist.«
9 And it will be if they will remain ten men in a house one and they will die.
Da wird es geschehen, wenn zehn Männer in einem Hause übriggeblieben sind, so sollen sie auch sterben.
10 And he will lift up him loved one his and [the one who] burns him to bring out bones from the house and he will say to [the one] who [is] in [the] innermost parts of the house ¿ still [is anyone] with you and he will say no and he will say hush! for not to bring to remembrance [the] name of Yahweh.
Wenn dann einen (der Gestorbenen) sein nächster Verwandter, der ihn zu bestatten hat, aufhebt, um die Gebeine aus dem Hause hinauszuschaffen, und an den, der sich im hintersten Raume des Hauses befindet, die Frage richtet: »Ist noch jemand bei dir?«, so wird er antworten: »Niemand«, aber fortfahren: »Still! Denn der Name Gottes des HERRN darf nicht ausgesprochen werden.«
11 For here! Yahweh [is] commanding and someone will strike the house great fragments and the house small rubble.
Denn wisset wohl: der HERR gebietet, und er zerschlägt die großen Häuser in Trümmer und die kleinen Häuser in Stücke. –
12 ¿ Do they run! on the crag[s] horses or? does anyone plow with oxen for you have turned into poison justice and [the] fruit of righteousness into wormwood.
Rennen wohl Rosse auf Felsen? Oder pflügt man darauf mit Rindern, daß ihr das Recht in Gift verwandelt und die Frucht der Gerechtigkeit in Wermut? –
13 The joyful [people] to Lo Debar who say ¿ not by own strength our have we taken for ourselves Karnaim.
Ihr frohlockt über (die Eroberung von) Lodabar und sagt: »Haben wir nicht durch eigene Kraft Karnaim uns wiedergewonnen?«
14 For here I [am] about to raise up on you O house of Israel [the] utterance of Yahweh [the] God of hosts a nation and they will oppress you from Lebo Hamath to [the] wadi of Arabah.
Doch »wisset wohl, ihr vom Hause Israel: Ich lasse gegen euch ein Volk aufstehen« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN, des Gottes der Heerscharen –, »das soll euch bedrängen von da an, wo der Weg nach Hamath geht, bis an den Weidenbach!«
