Amos 4
1 Hear the word this O cows of Bashan who [are] on [the] mountain of Samaria who oppress poor [people] who crush needy [people] who say to masters their bring! so we may drink.
Ecoutez cette parole, génisses de Basan, vivant sur la montagne de Samarie, vous qui opprimez les pauvres, écrasez les indigents, qui dites à vos maris: "Apportez, que nous puissions boire!"
2 He has sworn [the] Lord Yahweh by holiness his for here! days [are] coming on you and someone will take away you with barbs and posterity your with hooks of fishing.
Le Seigneur Dieu l’a juré par sa sainteté: Voici que des jours vont venir où l’on vous enlèvera, vous, avec des harpons, et vos enfants avec des hameçons de pêche!
3 And breaches you will go out each before herself and you will throw Harmon towards [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Vous vous échapperez par les brèches, chacune droit devant elle, et vous chercherez un refuge dans le Hermon, dit l’Eternel.
4 Come Beth-el and transgress Gilgal increase to transgress and bring to the morning sacrifices your to three days tithes your.
Allez à Béthel, ce sera un péché de plus; à Ghilgal, ce sera un péché de plus encore; apportez chaque matin vos sacrifices, tous les trois jours vos dîmes.
5 And make smoke from a thing leavened a thank-offering and proclaim freewill offerings make [them] heard for thus you love O people of Israel [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh.
Brûlez vos offrandes de reconnaissance consistant en pain fermenté. Publiez, faites sonner haut vos dons volontaires, puisque vous aimez tout cela, maison d’Israël, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
6 And also I I gave to you cleanness of teeth in all cities your and lack of bread in all places your and not you returned to me [the] utterance of Yahweh.
En revanche, moi je vous ai coupé les vivres dans toutes vos villes, je vous ai privés de pain dans toutes vos demeures, et pourtant vous n’êtes pas revenus à moi, dit l’Eternel!
7 And also I I withheld from you the rain in yet three months [were] to the harvest and I sent rain on a city one and on a city one not I sent rain a portion of ground one it was rained on and a portion of ground which not it sent rain on it it dried up.
C’Est moi aussi qui vous ai refusé la pluie durant les trois mois qui précèdent la moisson; j’ai fait pleuvoir sur telle ville et je n’ai pas fait pleuvoir sur telle autre. Tel champ a reçu la pluie, tel autre n’ayant pas été arrosé, s’est desséché.
8 And they staggered two three cities to a city one to drink water and not they were satisfied and not you returned to me [the] utterance of Yahweh.
De la sorte, deux ou trois villes se sont rendues dans une autre ville, lui demandant de l’eau à boire, sans pouvoir étancher leur soif, et pourtant vous n’êtes pas revenus à moi, dit l’Eternel!
9 I struck you with blight and with mildew to make many gardens your and vineyards your and fig trees your and olive trees your it ate the locust and not you returned to me [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Je vous ai éprouvés par la rouille et la nielle, vos nombreux jardins, vos vignobles, vos figuiers et vos oliviers, la sauterelle les a dévorés, et pourtant vous n’êtes pas revenus à moi, dit l’Eternel!
10 I sent among you pestilence in [the] manner of Egypt I killed by the sword young men your with [the] capture of horses your and I caused to go up [the] stench of camp your in nose your and not you returned to me [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Je vous ai envoyé une véritable peste d’Egypte, j’ai fait périr vos jeunes gens par le glaive en même temps que vos chevaux furent capturés, j’ai fait monter à vos narines l’odeur fétide de votre camp, et pourtant vous n’êtes pas revenus à moi, dit l’Eternel!
11 I overthrew among you like [the] overthrow of God Sodom and Gomorrah and you were like a piece of firewood plucked out (from [the] burning *L(abh)*) and not you returned to me [the] utterance of Yahweh.
J’Ai opéré des ruines parmi vous, rappelant la catastrophe dont Dieu frappa Sodome et Gomorrhe; vous étiez comme un tison arraché du feu, et pourtant vous n’êtes pas revenus à moi, dit l’Eternel!
12 Therefore thus I will do to you O Israel consequence for this I will do to you be prepared to meet God your O Israel.
Eh bien! Voici comment j’agirai avec toi, Israël et puisque je veux te traiter de la sorte, prépare-toi, ô Israël, à te présenter à ton Dieu.
13 For here! [one who] formed mountains and [one who] created wind and [one who] tells to humankind what? [is] thought his [one who] makes dawn darkness and [one who] treads on [the] high places of [the] earth [is] Yahweh God of hosts name his.
Car c’est lui qui a formé les montagnes et créé le vent; c’est lui qui révèle à l’homme sa propre pensée, qui change l’aurore en ténèbres, qui marche sur les hauteurs de la terre. Eternel, Dieu-Cebaot, tel est son nom.
