Amos 3
1 Hear the word this which he has spoken Yahweh on you O people of Israel on all the clan which I brought up from [the] land of Egypt saying.
Hören följande ord, som HERREN har talat mot eder, I Israels barn, ja, mot hela det släkte som jag har fört upp ur Egyptens land. Så har han sagt:
2 Only you I have known from all [the] clans of the earth there-fore I will visit on you all iniquities your.
Eder allena har jag utvalt bland alla släkter på jorden; därför skall jag ock hemsöka på eder alla edra missgärningar.
3 ¿ Do they walk two [people] together except if they have met by appointment.
Färdas väl två tillsammans, utan att de hava blivit ense därom?
4 ¿ Does it roar a lion in the forest and prey not [belongs] to it ¿ does it give forth a young lion voice its from den its except if it has caught [something].
Ryter ett lejon i skogen, om det ej har funnit något rov? Upphäver ett ungt lejon sin röst i kulan, utan att det har tagit ett byte?
5 ¿ Does it fall a bird on bird-trap of the earth and [is] a snare there not for it ¿ does it go up a bird-trap from the ground and surely not it catches [something].
Faller en fågel i snaran på marken, om intet garn har blivit utlagt för den? Springer snaran upp från marken, utom när den gör någon fångst?
6 Is it blown a trumpet in a city and [the] people not they tremble or? is it calamity in a city and Yahweh not he has done [it].
Eller stöter man i basun i en stad, utan att folket förskräckes? Eller drabbas en stad av något ont, utan att HERREN har skickat det?
7 For not he does [the] Lord Yahweh anything that except he has revealed secret counsel his to servants his the prophets.
Sannerligen, Herren, HERREN gör alls intet utan att hava uppenbarat sitt råd för sina tjänare profeterna.
8 A lion it has roared who? not will he be afraid [the] Lord Yahweh he has spoken who? not will he prophesy.
När lejonet ryter, vem skulle då icke frukta? När Herren, HERREN talar, vem skulle då icke profetera?
9 Proclaim to [the] fortresses in Ashdod and to [the] fortresses in [the] land of Egypt and say gather yourselves on [the] mountains of Samaria and see disturbances great in [the] midst of it and oppression in midst its.
Ropen ut över Asdods palatser och över palatsen i Egyptens land; sägen: Församlen eder till Samarias berg, och sen huru stor förvirring där råder, och huru man övar förtryck därinne.
10 And not they know to do straightforwardness [the] utterance of Yahweh those [who] store up violence and devastation in fortresses their.
Man förstår icke där att göra vad rätt är, säger HERREN; man hopar våld och fördärv i sina palats.
11 Therefore thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh an opponent and around the land and he will bring down from you strength your and they will be plundered fortresses your.
Därför säger Herren, HERREN så: Trångmål skall komma och omvärva landet, ditt starka fäste skall du mista, det skall störtas ned; och dina palats skola varda utplundrade.
12 Thus he says Yahweh just as he delivers the shepherd from [the] mouth of lion two legs or a piece of an ear so they will be delivered [the] people of Israel who dwell in Samaria with a corner of a bed and with silk of a couch.
Så säger HERREN: Likasom när en herde ur lejonets gap räddar allenast ett par benpipor eller snibben av ett öra, så skola Israels barn bliva räddade, desamma som nu i Samaria sitta i sina soffors hörn och på sina bäddars sidendamast.
13 Hear and warn [the] house of Jacob [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh [the] God of hosts.
Hören och betygen inför Jakobs hus, säger Herren, HERREN, härskarornas Gud:
14 That on [the] day visit I [the] transgressions of Israel on it and I will visit [them] on [the] altars of Beth-el and they will be cut off [the] horns of the altar and they will fall to the ground.
Den dag då jag på Israel hemsöker dess överträdelser, då skall jag ock hemsöka Betels altaren, så att altarhornen bliva avhuggna och falla till jorden.
15 And I will strike [the] house of the winter to [the] house of the summer and they will perish [the] houses of ivory and people will snatch away houses great [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Och jag skall slå ned både vinterhus och sommarhus, och elfenbenshusen skola bliva förstörda, ja, en myckenhet av hus skall då få en ände, säger HERREN.
