Amos 3
1 Hear the word this which he has spoken Yahweh on you O people of Israel on all the clan which I brought up from [the] land of Egypt saying.
Dengarlah firman ini, yang diucapkan TUHAN tentang kamu, hai orang Israel, tentang segenap kaum yang telah Kutuntun keluar dari tanah Mesir, bunyinya:
2 Only you I have known from all [the] clans of the earth there-fore I will visit on you all iniquities your.
"Hanya kamu yang Kukenal dari segala kaum di muka bumi, sebab itu Aku akan menghukum kamu karena segala kesalahanmu.
3 ¿ Do they walk two [people] together except if they have met by appointment.
Berjalankah dua orang bersama-sama, jika mereka belum berjanji?
4 ¿ Does it roar a lion in the forest and prey not [belongs] to it ¿ does it give forth a young lion voice its from den its except if it has caught [something].
Mengaumkah seekor singa di hutan, apabila tidak mendapat mangsa? Bersuarakah singa muda dari sarangnya, jika belum menangkap apa-apa?
5 ¿ Does it fall a bird on bird-trap of the earth and [is] a snare there not for it ¿ does it go up a bird-trap from the ground and surely not it catches [something].
Jatuhkah seekor burung ke dalam perangkap di tanah, apabila tidak ada jerat terhadapnya? Membingkaskah perangkap dari tanah, jika tidak ditangkapnya sesuatu?
6 Is it blown a trumpet in a city and [the] people not they tremble or? is it calamity in a city and Yahweh not he has done [it].
Adakah sangkakala ditiup di suatu kota, dan orang-orang tidak gemetar? Adakah terjadi malapetaka di suatu kota, dan TUHAN tidak melakukannya?
7 For not he does [the] Lord Yahweh anything that except he has revealed secret counsel his to servants his the prophets.
Sungguh, Tuhan ALLAH tidak berbuat sesuatu tanpa menyatakan keputusan-Nya kepada hamba-hamba-Nya, para nabi.
8 A lion it has roared who? not will he be afraid [the] Lord Yahweh he has spoken who? not will he prophesy.
Singa telah mengaum, siapakah yang tidak takut? Tuhan ALLAH telah berfirman, siapakah yang tidak bernubuat?"
9 Proclaim to [the] fortresses in Ashdod and to [the] fortresses in [the] land of Egypt and say gather yourselves on [the] mountains of Samaria and see disturbances great in [the] midst of it and oppression in midst its.
Siarkanlah di dalam puri di Asyur dan di dalam puri di tanah Mesir serta katakan: "Berkumpullah di gunung-gunung dekat Samaria dan pandanglah kekacauan besar yang ada di tengah-tengahnya dan pemerasan yang ada di kota itu."
10 And not they know to do straightforwardness [the] utterance of Yahweh those [who] store up violence and devastation in fortresses their.
"Mereka tidak tahu berbuat jujur," demikianlah firman TUHAN, "mereka itu yang menimbun kekerasan dan aniaya di dalam purinya."
11 Therefore thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh an opponent and around the land and he will bring down from you strength your and they will be plundered fortresses your.
Sebab itu beginilah firman Tuhan ALLAH: "Musuh akan ada di sekeliling negeri, kekuatanmu akan ditanggalkannya dari padamu, dan purimu akan dijarahi!"
12 Thus he says Yahweh just as he delivers the shepherd from [the] mouth of lion two legs or a piece of an ear so they will be delivered [the] people of Israel who dwell in Samaria with a corner of a bed and with silk of a couch.
Beginilah firman TUHAN: "Seperti seorang gembala melepaskan dari mulut singa dua tulang betis atau potongan telinga, demikianlah orang Israel yang diam di Samaria akan dilepaskan seperti sebagian dari katil dan seperti sepenggal dari kaki balai-balai."
13 Hear and warn [the] house of Jacob [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh [the] God of hosts.
"Dengarlah, dan peringatkanlah kaum keturunan Yakub," demikianlah firman Tuhan ALLAH, Allah semesta alam,
14 That on [the] day visit I [the] transgressions of Israel on it and I will visit [them] on [the] altars of Beth-el and they will be cut off [the] horns of the altar and they will fall to the ground.
"bahwa pada waktu Aku menghukum Israel karena perbuatan-perbuatannya yang jahat, Aku akan melakukan hukuman kepada mezbah-mezbah Betel, sehingga tanduk-tanduk mezbah itu dipatahkan dan jatuh ke tanah.
15 And I will strike [the] house of the winter to [the] house of the summer and they will perish [the] houses of ivory and people will snatch away houses great [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Aku akan merobohkan balai musim dingin beserta balai musim panas; hancurlah rumah-rumah gading, dan habislah rumah-rumah gedang," demikianlah firman TUHAN.
