2 Thessalonians 3

1 Finally, do pray, brothers, for us, that the word of the Lord may spread quickly and may be glorified even as also with you

För övrigt, käre bröder, bedjen för oss, att Herrens ord må hava framgång och komma till ära hos andra likasom hos eder,

2 and that we may be delivered from perverse and evil men; not for all [are] of the faith.

så ock att vi må bliva frälsta ifrån vanartiga och onda människor. Ty tron är icke var mans.

3 faithful however is the Lord, who will strengthen you and He will keep [you] from evil.

Men Herren är trofast, och han skall styrka eder och bevara eder från det onda.

4 We have been persuaded now in [the] Lord as to you that [the] things that we command (to you *k*) both you are doing and you will do.

Och vi hava den tillförsikten till eder i Herren, att I både nu gören och framgent skolen göra vad vi bjuda eder.

5 And the Lord would direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

Ja, Herren styre edra hjärtan till Guds kärlek och Kristi ståndaktighet.

6 We command now you, brothers, in [the] name of the Lord of us Jesus Christ, are to withdraw you from every brother idly walking and not according to the tradition that (they received *N(K)(O)*) from us.

Men vi bjuda eder, käre bröder, i vår Herres, Jesu Kristi, namn, att I dragen eder ifrån var broder som för en oordentlig vandel och icke lever efter de lärdomar han har mottagit av oss.

7 Yourselves for you know how it behooves [you] to imitate us; because not we were idle among you,

I veten ju själva huru man bör efterfölja oss. Ty vi förhöllo oss icke oordentligt bland eder,

8 nor without payment bread did we eat from anyone, but in labor and hardship (night *N(k)O*) and (day *N(k)O*) working in order not to be burdensome to any of you;

ej heller åto vi någons bröd för intet; tvärtom åto vi vårt bröd under arbete och möda, och vi strävade natt och dag, för att icke bliva någon av eder till tunga.

9 not that not we have [the] right, but that ourselves [as] an example we may offer to you for you to imitate us.

Icke som om vi ej hade haft rätt därtill, men vi ville låta eder i oss få ett föredöme, för att I skullen efterfölja oss.

10 Even for when we were with you, this we were commanding you that if anyone not is willing to work neither he should eat.

Redan när vi voro hos eder, gåvo vi ju eder det budet: om någon icke vill arbeta, så skall han icke heller äta.

11 We hear for some are walking among you idly, not at all working but being busybodies.

Vi höra nämligen att somliga bland eder föra en oordentlig vandel och icke arbeta, utan allenast syssla med sådant som icke kommer dem vid.

12 Now to such we warn and we exhort (by *N(k)O*) (the *k*) (Lord *N(k)O*) (of us *K*) Jesus (Christ *N(k)O*) so that with quietness working their own bread they may eat.

Sådana människor bjuda och förmana vi i Herren Jesus Kristus, att de arbeta i stillhet, så att de kunna äta sitt eget bröd.

13 you yourselves now, brothers, not may grow weary [in] well-doing.

Och I, käre bröder, mån icke förtröttas att göra vad gott är.

14 If then anyone not obey this instruction of us through the letter, of this [man] do take note (and *k*) not (to mix with *N(k)O*) him so that he may be ashamed;

Men om någon icke lyder vad vi hava sagt i detta brev, så märken ut för eder den mannen, och haven intet umgänge med honom, på det att han må blygas.

15 And yet not as an enemy do esteem [him], but do admonish [him] as a brother.

Hållen honom dock icke för en ovän, utan förmanen honom såsom en broder.

16 Himself now the Lord of peace would give you peace through all [times] in every way. The Lord [be] with all of you.

Men fridens Herre själv give eder sin frid alltid och på allt sätt. Herren vare med eder alla.

17 The greeting in my own hand — by Paul, which is [my] sign in every letter; In this manner I write.

Här skriver jag, Paulus, min hälsning med egen hand. Detta är ett kännetecken i alla mina brev; så skriver jag.

18 The grace of the Lord of us Jesus Christ [be] with all of you (Amen. *KO*) (to Thessalonica second it was written from Athens *K*)

Vår Herres, Jesu Kristi, nåd vare med eder alla.
