< 2 Samuel 8 >

1 And it was after thus and he defeated David [the] Philistines and he subdued them and he took David Metheg-ammah from [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
Factum est autem post hæc, percussit David Philisthiim, et humiliavit eos, et tulit David frenum tributi de manu Philisthiim.
2 And he defeated Moab and he measured off them with measuring-line he made lie down them [the] ground towards and he measured off two measuring-lines to put to death and [the] fullness of measuring-line to let live and it became Moab of David servants bearing tribute.
Et percussit Moab, et mensus est eos funiculo, coæquans terræ: mensus est autem duos funiculos, unum ad occidendum, et unum ad vivificandum: factusque est Moab David serviens sub tributo.
3 And he defeated David Hadadezer [the] son of Rehob [the] king of Zobah when went he to restore hand his (at [the] river Euphrates. *Q(K)*)
Et percussit David Adarezer filium Rohob regem Soba, quando profectus est ut dominaretur super flumen Euphraten.
4 And he captured David from him one thousand and seven hundred horsemen and twenty thousand man on foot and he hamstrung David all the chariotry and he left of it one hundred chariot[s].
Et captis David ex parte ejus mille septingentis equitibus, et viginti millibus peditum, subnervavit omnes jugales curruum: dereliquit autem ex eis centum currus.
5 And it came Aram Damascus to help Hadadezer [the] king of Zobah and he struck down David among Aram twenty and two thousand man.
Venit quoque Syria Damasci, ut præsidium ferret Adarezer regi Soba: et percussit David de Syria viginti duo millia virorum.
6 And he put David garrisons in Aram Damascus and it became Aram of David servants bearing tribute and he gave victory to Yahweh David in every where he went.
Et posuit David præsidium in Syria Damasci: factaque est Syria David serviens sub tributo: servavitque Dominus David in omnibus ad quæcumque profectus est.
7 And he took David [the] shields of gold which they were to [the] servants of Hadadezer and he brought them Jerusalem.
Et tulit David arma aurea quæ habebant servi Adarezer, et detulit ea in Jerusalem.
8 And from Betah and from Berothai [the] cities of Hadadezer he took the king David bronze much very.
Et de Bete et de Beroth, civitatibus Adarezer, tulit rex David æs multum nimis.
9 And he heard Toi [the] king of Hamath that he had defeated David all [the] army of Hadadezer.
Audivit autem Thou rex Emath quod percussisset David omne robur Adarezer,
10 And he sent Toi Joram son his to the king David to ask of him to welfare and to bless him on that he had waged war against Hadadezer and he had defeated him for man of wars of Toi he was Hadadezer and in hand his they were articles of silver and articles of gold and articles of bronze.
et misit Thou Joram filium suum ad regem David, ut salutaret eum congratulans, et gratias ageret: eo quod expugnasset Adarezer, et percussisset eum. Hostis quippe erat Thou Adarezer, et in manu ejus erant vasa aurea, et vasa argentea, et vasa ærea:
11 Also them he consecrated the king David to Yahweh with the silver and the gold which he had consecrated from all the nations which he had subdued.
quæ et ipsa sanctificavit rex David Domino cum argento et auro quæ sanctificaverat de universis gentibus quas subegerat,
12 From Aram and from Moab and from [the] people of Ammon and from [the] Philistines and from Amalek and from [the] plunder of Hadadezer [the] son of Rehob [the] king of Zobah.
de Syria, et Moab, et filiis Ammon, et Philisthiim, et Amalec, et de manubiis Adarezer filii Rohob regis Soba.
13 And he made David a name when returned he from defeating he Aram in [the] Valley of Salt eight-teen thousand.
Fecit quoque sibi David nomen cum reverteretur capta Syria in valle Salinarum, cæsis decem et octo millibus:
14 And he put in Edom garrisons in all Edom he put garrisons and it was all Edom servants of David and he gave victory to Yahweh David in every where he went.
et posuit in Idumæa custodes, statuitque præsidium: et facta est universa Idumæa serviens David, et servavit Dominus David in omnibus ad quæcumque profectus est.
15 And he reigned David over all Israel and he was David doing justice and righteousness for all people his.
Et regnavit David super omnem Israël: faciebat quoque David judicium et justitiam omni populo suo.
16 And Joab [the] son of Zeruiah [was] over the army and Jehoshaphat [the] son of Ahilud [was] recorder.
Joab autem filius Sarviæ erat super exercitum: porro Josaphat filius Ahilud erat a commentariis:
17 And Zadok [the] son of Ahitub and Ahimelech [the] son of Abiathar [were] priests and Seraiah [was] secretary.
et Sadoc filius Achitob, et Achimelech filius Abiathar, erant sacerdotes: et Saraias, scriba:
18 And Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and the Kerethite[s] and the Pelethite[s] and [the] sons of David [were] priests they were.
Banaias autem filius Jojadæ super Cerethi et Phelethi: filii autem David sacerdotes erant.
