2 Samuel 8
1 And it was after thus and he defeated David [the] Philistines and he subdued them and he took David Metheg-ammah from [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
Et il arriva, après cela, que David frappa les Philistins et les subjugua; et David prit Métheg-Amma de la main des Philistins.
2 And he defeated Moab and he measured off them with measuring-line he made lie down them [the] ground towards and he measured off two measuring-lines to put to death and [the] fullness of measuring-line to let live and it became Moab of David servants bearing tribute.
Et il frappa Moab, et il les mesura au cordeau, les faisant coucher par terre, et il en mesura deux cordeaux pour les faire mourir, et un plein cordeau pour les laisser vivre; et les Moabites devinrent serviteurs de David: ils lui apportèrent des présents.
3 And he defeated David Hadadezer [the] son of Rehob [the] king of Zobah when went he to restore hand his (at [the] river Euphrates. *Q(K)*)
Et David frappa Hadadézer, fils de Rehob, roi de Tsoba, comme il allait pour rétablir sa puissance sur le fleuve [Euphrate].
4 And he captured David from him one thousand and seven hundred horsemen and twenty thousand man on foot and he hamstrung David all the chariotry and he left of it one hundred chariot[s].
Et David lui prit 1 700 cavaliers et 20 000 hommes de pied; et David coupa les jarrets [aux chevaux] de tous les chars, mais il réserva 100 attelages.
5 And it came Aram Damascus to help Hadadezer [the] king of Zobah and he struck down David among Aram twenty and two thousand man.
Et les Syriens de Damas vinrent au secours d’Hadadézer, roi de Tsoba; et David frappa 22 000 hommes des Syriens.
6 And he put David garrisons in Aram Damascus and it became Aram of David servants bearing tribute and he gave victory to Yahweh David in every where he went.
Et David mit des garnisons dans la Syrie de Damas, et les Syriens devinrent serviteurs de David: ils lui apportèrent des présents. Et l’Éternel sauvait David partout où il allait.
7 And he took David [the] shields of gold which they were to [the] servants of Hadadezer and he brought them Jerusalem.
Et David prit les boucliers d’or qui étaient aux serviteurs d’Hadadézer, et les apporta à Jérusalem.
8 And from Betah and from Berothai [the] cities of Hadadezer he took the king David bronze much very.
Et de Bétakh et de Bérothaï, villes d’Hadadézer, le roi David prit une grande quantité d’airain.
9 And he heard Toi [the] king of Hamath that he had defeated David all [the] army of Hadadezer.
Et Tohi, roi de Hamath, apprit que David avait frappé toutes les forces d’Hadadézer.
10 And he sent Toi Joram son his to the king David to ask of him to welfare and to bless him on that he had waged war against Hadadezer and he had defeated him for man of wars of Toi he was Hadadezer and in hand his they were articles of silver and articles of gold and articles of bronze.
Et Tohi envoya Joram, son fils, au roi David, pour le saluer et le féliciter de ce qu’il avait fait la guerre à Hadadézer et l’avait battu; car Hadadézer était continuellement en guerre avec Tohi; et [Joram] avait avec lui des vases d’argent, et des vases d’or, et des vases d’airain.
11 Also them he consecrated the king David to Yahweh with the silver and the gold which he had consecrated from all the nations which he had subdued.
Ceux-ci aussi, le roi David les consacra à l’Éternel, avec l’argent et l’or qu’il avait consacrés de toutes les nations qu’il avait soumises:
12 From Aram and from Moab and from [the] people of Ammon and from [the] Philistines and from Amalek and from [the] plunder of Hadadezer [the] son of Rehob [the] king of Zobah.
de Syrie, et de Moab, et des fils d’Ammon, et des Philistins, et d’Amalek, et du butin d’Hadadézer, fils de Rehob, roi de Tsoba.
13 And he made David a name when returned he from defeating he Aram in [the] Valley of Salt eight-teen thousand.
Et David se fit un nom, en revenant d’avoir frappé les Syriens dans la vallée du Sel, [au nombre de] 18 000.
14 And he put in Edom garrisons in all Edom he put garrisons and it was all Edom servants of David and he gave victory to Yahweh David in every where he went.
Et il mit des garnisons en Édom; il mit des garnisons dans tout Édom, et tout Édom fut asservi à David. Et l’Éternel sauvait David partout où il allait.
15 And he reigned David over all Israel and he was David doing justice and righteousness for all people his.
Et David régna sur tout Israël; et David faisait droit et justice à tout son peuple.
16 And Joab [the] son of Zeruiah [was] over the army and Jehoshaphat [the] son of Ahilud [was] recorder.
Et Joab, fils de Tseruïa, était [préposé] sur l’armée; et Josaphat, fils d’Akhilud, était rédacteur des chroniques;
17 And Zadok [the] son of Ahitub and Ahimelech [the] son of Abiathar [were] priests and Seraiah [was] secretary.
et Tsadok, fils d’Akhitub, et Akhimélec, fils d’Abiathar, étaient sacrificateurs; et Seraïa était scribe;
18 And Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and the Kerethite[s] and the Pelethite[s] and [the] sons of David [were] priests they were.
et Benaïa, fils de Jehoïada, [était chef] des Keréthiens et des Peléthiens; et les fils de David étaient les principaux officiers.
