2 Samuel 3
1 And it was the war long between [the] house of Saul and between [the] house of David and David [was] going and strong and [the] house of Saul [were] going and weak.
Pertempuran itu merupakan awal dari perang panjang antara para pendukung kerajaan Isboset anak Saul dengan para pendukung Daud. Semakin lama pendukung Daud semakin kuat, tetapi pendukung kerajaan Saul semakin lemah.
2 (And they were born *Q(K)*) to David sons in Hebron and he was firstborn his Amnon of Ahinoam the Jezreelite [woman].
Pada waktu Daud berada di Hebron, istri-istrinya melahirkan enam anak laki-laki bagi dia. Inilah nama-nama mereka sesuai urutan lahir: Ahinoam, orang Yisreel melahirkan Amnon, Abigail, janda Nabal orang Karmel melahirkan Kileab, Makah, anak perempuan Raja Talmai dari Gesyur melahirkan Absalom, Hagit melahirkan Adonia, Abital melahirkan Sefatya, Egla melahirkan Yitream.
3 And [was] second his Kileab (of Abigail *Q(k)*) [the] wife of Nabal the Carmelite and [was] the third Absalom [the] son of Maacah [the] daughter of Talmai [the] king of Geshur.
4 And [was] the fourth Adonijah [the] son of Haggith and [was] the fifth Shephatiah [the] son of Abital.
5 And [was] the sixth Ithream of Eglah [the] wife of David these they were born to David in Hebron.
6 And it was when was war between [the] house of Saul and between [the] house of David and Abner he was strengthening himself in [the] house of Saul.
Sementara perang antara para pendukung kerajaan Isboset anak Saul dengan para pendukung Daud terus berlanjut, Abner semakin memperbesar pengaruhnya sendiri atas pendukung keluarga Saul.
7 And [belonged] to Saul a concubine and name her [was] Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah and he said to Abner why? have you gone into [the] concubine of father my.
Suatu hari Isboset menuduh Abner sudah meniduri salah satu gundik Saul, yaitu Rizpa anak Aya. Isboset berkata kepada Abner, “Kamu sudah melakukan kejahatan dengan meniduri istri ayahku!”
8 And it burned to Abner exceedingly on [the] words of Ish-bosheth and he said ¿ [the] head of a dog [am] I which [belongs] to Judah this day I show loyalty with [the] house of - Saul father your to brothers his and to friend[s] his and not I have delivered you in [the] hand of David and you have visited on me [the] guilt of the woman this day.
Lalu Abner menjawab dengan sangat marah, “Apakah kamu menganggap aku anjing dari Yehuda?! Sampai hari ini aku sudah setia kepada keluarga ayahmu dan para pendukungnya, meskipun aku dengan mudah bisa menyerahkan kamu ke tangan Daud. Tetapi hari ini kamu menuduh aku seolah-olah melakukan pelanggaran besar, padahal itu hanya urusan sepele dengan wanita!
9 Thus may he do God to Abner and thus may he add to him if just as he swore Yahweh to David that so I will do for him.
Biarlah Allah menghukum aku, bahkan mencabut nyawaku jika aku tidak membantu menggenapi janji TUHAN kepada Daud!
10 To take away the kingdom from [the] house of Saul and to establish [the] throne of David over Israel and over Judah from Dan and to Beer Sheba.
Aku akan menyerahkan kerajaan ayahmu ini kepada Daud dan mengokohkan kerajaannya atas seluruh Israel dari ujung utara sampai ujung selatan negeri ini, dari Dan sampai Bersyeba!”
11 And not he was able again to bring back Abner a word because feared he him.
Isboset tidak bisa menjawab Abner sepatah kata pun karena takut kepadanya.
12 And he sent Abner messengers - to David (in place of himself *Q(K)*) saying [belongs] to whom? [the] land saying make! covenant your with me and here! hand my [will be] with you to bring round to you all Israel.
Lalu Abner mengutus pembawa pesan kepada Daud untuk menyampaikan, “Biarlah kita memutuskan siapa yang akan menjadi raja atas seluruh negeri ini! Buatlah kesepakatan dengan saya, dan saya akan membuat seluruh Israel mendukung engkau.”
13 And he said good I I will make with you a covenant only a thing one I [am] asking from with you saying not you will see face my for - except before bring you Michal [the] daughter of Saul when coming you to see face my.
Maka kata Daud, “Baik. Saya akan mengadakan kesepakatan dengan engkau. Tetapi sebelum kita bisa berunding, saya menuntut engkau mengembalikan istri saya, Mikal anak Saul.”
14 And he sent David messengers to Ish-bosheth [the] son of Saul saying give! wife my Michal whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred foreskins of Philistines.
Lalu Daud mengutus pembawa pesan kepada Isboset, “Kembalikanlah Mikal, istri saya, yang sudah saya peroleh dengan mas kawin seratus kulit khatan orang Filistin.”
15 And he sent Ish-bosheth and he took her from with a husband from with Paltiel [the] son of (Laish. *Q(K)*)
Maka Isboset mengeluarkan perintah sehingga Mikal diambil dari suaminya, Paltiel anak Lais.
16 And he went with her husband her going and weeping after her to Bahurim and he said to him Abner go return and he returned.
Ketika Abner dan beberapa tentaranya mengantar Mikal kepada Daud, Paltiel mengikuti mereka dari belakang sambil menangis sepanjang jalan dari Mahanaim sampai ke Bahurim. Akhirnya Abner berkata kepadanya, “Pulanglah!” Dan Paltiel pun pulang.
17 And [the] word of Abner it was with [the] elders of Israel saying both yesterday as well as [the] third day you were seeking David to king over you.
Lalu Abner menasihati para pemimpin Israel, “Sudah cukup lama kalian menginginkan Daud menjadi raja kita.
18 And therefore act for Yahweh he has spoken to David saying by [the] hand of - David servant my to deliver people my Israel from [the] hand of [the] Philistines and from [the] hand of all enemies their.
Sekarang waktunya kita bertindak! Karena TUHAN sudah berkata kepada Daud, ‘Dengan tangan hamba-Ku Daud, Aku akan menyelamatkan umat-Ku Israel dari tangan orang Filistin dan dari semua musuh-musuh mereka.’”
19 And he spoke also Abner in [the] ears of Benjamin and he went also Abner to speak in [the] ears of David at Hebron all that it was good in [the] eyes of Israel and in [the] eyes of all [the] house of Benjamin.
Abner juga berbicara secara khusus kepada para pemimpin suku Benyamin. Lalu Abner pergi ke Hebron untuk memberitahu Daud apa yang sudah disepakati oleh seluruh bangsa Israel dan suku Benyamin.
20 And he came Abner to David Hebron and [were] with him twenty men and he made David for Abner and for [the] men who [were] with him a feast.
Ketika Abner bersama dua puluh tentara datang menemui Daud di Hebron, Daud menyiapkan perjamuan bagi mereka.
21 And he said Abner to David let me arise - and let me go and let me gather to lord my the king all Israel so they may make with you a covenant and you will reign over all that it desires self your and he sent away David Abner and he went in peace.
Abner berkata kepada Daud, “Tuanku Raja, izinkanlah saya pulang untuk mengumpulkan seluruh Israel, agar mereka bisa membuat kesepakatan denganmu. Tuan akan memerintah atas semua yang Tuan inginkan.” Maka Daud mengizinkan Abner pergi, dan dia pulang dengan selamat.
22 And there! [the] servants of David and Joab [was] coming from the raid and plunder much with them they had brought and Abner not he [was] with David in Hebron for he had sent away him and he had gone in peace.
Tidak lama setelah Abner meninggalkan Hebron dengan selamat, Yoab dan para tentara Daud kembali dari sebuah penyergapan dengan membawa banyak jarahan.
23 And Joab and all the army which [was] with him they came and people told to Joab saying he came Abner [the] son of Ner to the king and he has sent away him and he has gone in peace.
Ketika mereka tiba, seseorang berkata kepadanya, “Abner anak Ner sudah datang menemui raja, dan raja melepasnya pergi dengan selamat!”
24 And he went Joab to the king and he said what? have you done here! he came Abner to you why? this did you send away him and he has gone completely.
Maka Yoab pergi menemui raja dan menegurnya, “Tuanku Raja, apa yang sudah engkau lakukan?! Abner datang kepadamu, tetapi mengapa Tuan melepasnya pergi?!
25 You know Abner [the] son of Ner that to deceive you he came and to know exit your and (entrance your *Q(K)*) and to know all that you [are] doing.
Engkau tahu bahwa Abner tidak dapat dipercaya! Pasti dia datang untuk menipu Raja dan memata-matai segala sesuatu yang engkau lakukan!”
26 And he went out Joab from with David and he sent messengers after Abner and they brought back him from [the] Cistern of Sirah and David not he knew.
Lalu Yoab meninggalkan Daud dan mengirim pembawa pesan kepada Abner. Mereka menemui Abner di sumur Sira dan meminta dia kembali. Akan tetapi, Daud sama sekali tidak tahu tentang hal ini.
27 And he returned Abner Hebron and he turned aside him Joab into [the] middle of the gate (to speak *LA(bh)*) with him in quietness and he struck him there the belly and he died for [the] blood Asah-el brother his.
Ketika Abner kembali ke Hebron, Yoab mengajaknya ke tepi pintu gerbang, seakan-akan ingin berbicara dengan dia secara pribadi. Lalu Yoab menusuk perut Abner dengan pisaunya sehingga mati— sebagai pembalasan atas kematian Asael, adiknya.
28 And he heard David from after thus and he said [am] innocent I and kingdom my from with Yahweh until perpetuity from [the] blood of Abner [the] son of Ner.
Ketika Daud mendengar tentang kejadian itu, dia berkata, “Di hadapan TUHAN, untuk selamanya aku dan kerajaanku tidak bersalah atas kematian Abner.
29 Let them whirl over [the] head of Joab and to all [the] house of father his and may not he be cut off from [the] house of Joab [one who] suffers a discharge and [one who] has a skin disease and [one who] takes hold on the spindle and [one who] falls by the sword and [one] lacking of bread.
Biarlah kematiannya dibalaskan kepada Yoab dan seluruh keluarganya! Biarlah di antara keturunan Yoab akan selalu ada laki-laki yang najis karena luka yang terus mengeluarkan cairan atau karena penyakit kulit yang berbahaya. Biarlah selalu ada keturunannya yang pincang, terbunuh dalam perang, ataupun kelaparan!”
30 And Joab and Abishai brother his they killed Abner on that he had killed Asahel brother their at Gibeon in the battle.
Demikianlah Yoab bersama adiknya yang bernama Abisai membunuh Abner, karena dia sudah membunuh adik mereka yang bernama Asael dalam pertempuran di Gibeon.
31 And he said David to Joab and to all the people which [was] with him tear garments your and gird yourselves sackcloth and mourn before Abner and the king David [was] walking after the bier.
Daud menyuruh Yoab dan semua rakyat di Hebron, “Robeklah pakaian kalian dan pakailah kain kabung! Merataplah untuk Abner!” Raja Daud sendiri berjalan di belakang usungan jenazah.
32 And they buried Abner in Hebron and he lifted up the king voice his and he wept to [the] grave of Abner and they wept all the people.
Mereka menguburkan mayat Abner di Hebron. Daud menangis sangat keras di kuburan Abner, dan seluruh rakyat juga menangis.
33 And he lamented the king because of Abner and he said ¿ like [the] death of a fool will he die Abner.
Raja menyanyikan sebuah ratapan untuk Abner: “Haruskah Abner mati seperti orang bodoh?
34 Hand your not [were] bound and feet your not to bronze fetters they were brought near as falls before sons of injustice you have fallen and they repeated all the people to weep on him.
Tanganmu tidak terikat dan kakimu tidak terbelenggu. Sayang sekali Abner, engkau mati konyol dibunuh oleh orang-orang jahat!” Sesudah cukup lama meratapi Abner bersama seluruh rakyat,
35 And it came all the people to make to eat David bread while still day and he swore an oath David saying thus may he do to me God and thus may he add that except before goes the sun I will taste bread or all anything.
siang itu ada yang mendesak Daud untuk makan setelah mereka pulang. Tetapi Daud bersumpah, “Biarlah Allah menghukumku, bahkan mencabut nyawaku, jika aku mengecap roti atau apa pun juga sebelum matahari terbenam!”
36 And all the people they paid regard and it was good in view their like all that he did the king in [the] eyes of all the people it was good.
Seluruh rakyat memperhatikan apa yang Daud lakukan, dan hal itu mereka pandang baik. Bahkan segala sesuatu yang dilakukan raja, mereka pandang baik.
37 And they knew all the people and all Israel on the day that that not it was from the king to kill Abner [the] son of Ner.
Hari itu seluruh rakyat dan seluruh Israel menyadari bahwa pembunuhan Abner bukanlah atas perintah Daud.
38 And he said the king to servants his ¿ not do you know that a leader and a great [man] he has fallen the day this in Israel.
Lalu Daud berkata kepada para pegawainya, “Sadarilah bahwa hari ini Israel sudah kehilangan seorang pemimpin yang hebat!
39 And I this day [am] weak and [am] anointed king and the men these [the] sons of Zeruiah [are too] hard for me may he repay Yahweh to [the] doer of the evil according to evil his.
Hari ini saya merasa lemah, sekalipun saya sudah dilantik sebagai raja. Saya tidak bisa mengendalikan kekerasan kedua anak Zeruya, yaitu Yoab dan Abisai! Biarlah TUHAN menghukum mereka dengan sepatutnya atas kejahatan mereka!”
