2 Samuel 24
1 And it repeated [the] anger of Yahweh to burn on Israel and he incited David against them saying go count Israel and Judah.
La colère de l’Éternel s’enflamma de nouveau contre Israël, et il excita David contre eux, en disant: Va, fais le dénombrement d’Israël et de Juda.
2 And he said the king to Joab - [the] commander of the army who [was] with him go about please in all [the] tribes of Israel from Dan and to Beer Sheba and enroll the people and I will know [the] number of the people.
Et le roi dit à Joab, qui était chef de l’armée et qui se trouvait près de lui: Parcours toutes les tribus d’Israël, depuis Dan jusqu’à Beer-Schéba; qu’on fasse le dénombrement du peuple, et que je sache à combien il s’élève.
3 And he said Joab to the king and may he add Yahweh God your to the people like them - and like them a hundred times and [the] eyes of lord my the king [are] seeing [it] and lord my the king why? does he delight in the thing this.
Joab dit au roi: Que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, rende le peuple cent fois plus nombreux, et que les yeux du roi mon seigneur le voient! Mais pourquoi le roi mon seigneur veut-il faire cela?
4 And it prevailed [the] word of the king to Joab and over [the] commanders of the army and he went out Joab and commanders of the army before the king to enroll the people Israel.
Le roi persista dans l’ordre qu’il donnait à Joab et aux chefs de l’armée; et Joab et les chefs de l’armée quittèrent le roi pour faire le dénombrement du peuple d’Israël.
5 And they passed over the Jordan and they encamped at Aroer [the] south of the city which [is] in [the] middle of the wadi Gad and to Jazer.
Ils passèrent le Jourdain, et ils campèrent à Aroër, à droite de la ville qui est au milieu de la vallée de Gad, et près de Jaezer.
6 And they came Gilead towards and to [the] land of Tahtim Hodshi and they came Dan towards Jaan and around to Sidon.
Ils allèrent en Galaad et dans le pays de Thachthim-Hodschi. Ils allèrent à Dan-Jaan, et aux environs de Sidon.
7 And they came [the] fortress of Tyre and all [the] cities of the Hivite[s] and the Canaanite[s] and they went out to [the] Negev of Judah Beer Sheba.
Ils allèrent à la forteresse de Tyr, et dans toutes les villes des Héviens et des Cananéens. Ils terminèrent par le midi de Juda, à Beer-Schéba.
8 And they went about in all the land and they came from [the] end of nine months and twenty day[s] Jerusalem.
Ils parcoururent ainsi tout le pays, et ils arrivèrent à Jérusalem au bout de neuf mois et vingt jours.
9 And he gave Joab [the] number of [the] muster of the people to the king and it was Israel eight hundred thousand man of strength [who] drew a sword and [the] man of Judah [was] five hundred thousand man.
Joab remit au roi le rôle du dénombrement du peuple: il y avait en Israël huit cent mille hommes de guerre tirant l’épée, et en Juda cinq cent mille hommes.
10 And it struck [the] heart of David him after thus he had counted the people. And he said David to Yahweh I have sinned exceedingly [that] which I have done and now O Yahweh take away please [the] iniquity of servant your for I have acted foolishly exceedingly.
David sentit battre son cœur, après qu’il eut ainsi fait le dénombrement du peuple. Et il dit à l’Éternel: J’ai commis un grand péché en faisant cela! Maintenant, ô Éternel, daigne pardonner l’iniquité de ton serviteur, car j’ai complètement agi en insensé!
11 And he arose David in the morning. And [the] word of Yahweh it came to Gad the prophet [the] seer of David saying.
Le lendemain, quand David se leva, la parole de l’Éternel fut ainsi adressée à Gad le prophète, le voyant de David:
12 Go and you will speak to David thus he says Yahweh three [things] I [am] laying on you choose for yourself one from them so I may do [it] to you.
Va dire à David: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Je te propose trois fléaux; choisis-en un, et je t’en frapperai.
13 And he went Gad to David and he told to him and he said to him ¿ will it come to you seven years - famine - in land your or? three months fleeing you before opponents your and he [will be] pursuing you and or? to be three days pestilence in land your now know and see what? will I bring back [the] [one who] sent me word.
Gad alla vers David, et lui fit connaître la chose, en disant: Veux-tu sept années de famine dans ton pays, ou bien trois mois de fuite devant tes ennemis qui te poursuivront, ou bien trois jours de peste dans ton pays? Maintenant choisis, et vois ce que je dois répondre à celui qui m’envoie.
14 And he said David to Gad it is distress to me exceedingly let us fall please in [the] hand of Yahweh for [are] great (compassion his *Q(K)*) and in [the] hand of humankind may not I fall.
David répondit à Gad: Je suis dans une grande angoisse! Oh! Tombons entre les mains de l’Éternel, car ses compassions sont immenses; mais que je ne tombe pas entre les mains des hommes!
15 And he gave Yahweh pestilence in Israel from the morning and until a time of an appointed time and he died of the people from Dan and to Beer Sheba seventy thousand man.
L’Éternel envoya la peste en Israël, depuis le matin jusqu’au temps fixé; et, de Dan à Beer-Schéba, il mourut soixante-dix mille hommes parmi le peuple.
16 And he stretched out hand his the angel - Jerusalem to destroy it and he relented Yahweh concerning the harm and he said to the angel the destroyer among the people enough now let drop hand your and [the] angel of Yahweh he was near [the] threshing floor of (Araunah *Q(K)*) the Jebusite.
Comme l’ange étendait la main sur Jérusalem pour la détruire, l’Éternel se repentit de ce mal, et il dit à l’ange qui faisait périr le peuple: Assez! Retire maintenant ta main. L’ange de l’Éternel était près de l’aire d’Aravna, le Jébusien.
17 And he said David to Yahweh when saw he - the angel - who was striking down the people and he said here! I (the shepherd *X*) I have sinned and I I have done wrong and these the sheep what? have they done let it be please hand your on me and on [the] house of father my.
David, voyant l’ange qui frappait parmi le peuple, dit à l’Éternel: Voici, j’ai péché! C’est moi qui suis coupable; mais ces brebis, qu’ont-elles fait? Que ta main soit donc sur moi et sur la maison de mon père!
18 And he came Gad to David on the day that and he said to him go up raise up to Yahweh an altar on [the] threshing floor of (Araunah *Q(K)*) the Jebusite.
Ce jour-là, Gad vint auprès de David, et lui dit: Monte, élève un autel à l’Éternel dans l’aire d’Aravna, le Jébusien.
19 And he went up David according to [the] word of Gad just as he had commanded Yahweh.
David monta, selon la parole de Gad, comme l’Éternel l’avait ordonné.
20 And he looked down Araunah and he saw the king and servants his passing on to him and he went out Araunah and he bowed down to the king face his [the] ground towards.
Aravna regarda, et il vit le roi et ses serviteurs qui se dirigeaient vers lui; et Aravna sortit, et se prosterna devant le roi, le visage contre terre.
21 And he said Araunah why? has he come lord my the king to servant his and he said David to buy from with you the threshing floor to build an altar to Yahweh so it may be restrained the plague from on the people.
Aravna dit: Pourquoi mon seigneur le roi vient-il vers son serviteur? Et David répondit: Pour acheter de toi l’aire et pour y bâtir un autel à l’Éternel, afin que la plaie se retire de dessus le peuple.
22 And he said Araunah to David let him take and let him offer up lord my the king the good (in eyes his *Q(K)*) see the ox[en] for the burnt offering and the threshing-sledges and [the] equipment of the ox[en] for the wood.
Aravna dit à David: Que mon seigneur le roi prenne l’aire, et qu’il y offre les sacrifices qu’il lui plaira; vois, les bœufs seront pour l’holocauste, et les chars avec l’attelage serviront de bois.
23 Everything he gives Araunah O king to the king. And he said Araunah to the king Yahweh God your may he accept favorably you.
Aravna donna le tout au roi. Et Aravna dit au roi: Que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te soit favorable!
24 And he said the king to Araunah In-deed certainly I will buy [it] from you for a price and not I will offer up to Yahweh God my burnt offerings without paying and he bought David the threshing floor and the ox[en] for silver shekels fifty.
Mais le roi dit à Aravna: Non! Je veux l’acheter de toi à prix d’argent, et je n’offrirai point à l’Éternel, mon Dieu, des holocaustes qui ne me coûtent rien. Et David acheta l’aire et les bœufs pour cinquante sicles d’argent.
25 And he built there David an altar to Yahweh and he offered up burnt offerings and peace offerings and he was entreated Yahweh for the land and it was restrained the plague from on Israel.
David bâtit là un autel à l’Éternel, et il offrit des holocaustes et des sacrifices d’actions de grâces. Alors l’Éternel fut apaisé envers le pays, et la plaie se retira d’Israël.
