< 2 Samuel 24 >

1 And it repeated [the] anger of Yahweh to burn on Israel and he incited David against them saying go count Israel and Judah.

2 And he said the king to Joab - [the] commander of the army who [was] with him go about please in all [the] tribes of Israel from Dan and to Beer Sheba and enroll the people and I will know [the] number of the people.
Te dongah manghai loh amah taengkah tatthai mangpa Joab te, “Dan lamloh Beersheba duela Israel koca boeih taengah cet laeh. Pilnam te tae lamtah pilnam hlangmi te ka ming eh?,” a ti nah.
3 And he said Joab to the king and may he add Yahweh God your to the people like them - and like them a hundred times and [the] eyes of lord my the king [are] seeing [it] and lord my the king why? does he delight in the thing this.
Tedae Joab loh manghai te, “Pilnam te BOEIPA na Pathen loh amah la a thap tih ka boei manghai kah mikhmuh ah amih te a pueh yakhat lam khaw hmu mai saw. Tedae ka boei manghai loh balae tih hebang hno he a ngaih,” a ti.
4 And it prevailed [the] word of the king to Joab and over [the] commanders of the army and he went out Joab and commanders of the army before the king to enroll the people Israel.
Tedae manghai kah olka loh Joab neh tatthai mangpa rhoek te a hut a tet. Te dongah Joab tah Israel pilnam te soep hamla caem neh mangpa rhoek neh manghai mikhmuh lamkah loh bit uh.
5 And they passed over the Jordan and they encamped at Aroer [the] south of the city which [is] in [the] middle of the wadi Gad and to Jazer.
Jordan a poeng uh tih Gad neh Jazer soklong khui kah khopuei bantang Aroer ah rhaeh uh.
6 And they came Gilead towards and to [the] land of Tahtim Hodshi and they came Dan towards Jaan and around to Sidon.
Te vaengah Gilead neh Tahtimhodshi kho te a paan uh tih Danjaan neh Sidon kaepvai khaw a pha uh.
7 And they came [the] fortress of Tyre and all [the] cities of the Hivite[s] and the Canaanite[s] and they went out to [the] Negev of Judah Beer Sheba.
Tyre hmuencak, Khivee neh Kanaan khopuei boeih te khaw a pha uh tih Judah Beersheba tuithim la pawk uh.
8 And they went about in all the land and they came from [the] end of nine months and twenty day[s] Jerusalem.
Kho tom te a hil uh tih hla ko phoeiah hnin kul a thok daengah Jerusalem la pawk.
9 And he gave Joab [the] number of [the] muster of the people to the king and it was Israel eight hundred thousand man of strength [who] drew a sword and [the] man of Judah [was] five hundred thousand man.
Pilnam kah hlangboel te Joab loh manghai taengah tun a paek vaengah Israel te cunghang aka pom tatthai hlang thawng ya rhet, Judah hlang te hlang thawng ya nga om.
10 And it struck [the] heart of David him after thus he had counted the people. And he said David to Yahweh I have sinned exceedingly [that] which I have done and now O Yahweh take away please [the] iniquity of servant your for I have acted foolishly exceedingly.
Pilnam te a tae phoeiah David te a lungbuei loh a ngawn. Te dongah David loh BOEIPA taengah, “Ka saii te muep ka tholh coeng. BOEIPA aw, ka pavai tangkik dongah ni, na sal kathaesainah he han hlah mai laeh,” a ti nah.
11 And he arose David in the morning. And [the] word of Yahweh it came to Gad the prophet [the] seer of David saying.
Mincang ah David te thoo. Te vaengah BOEIPA kah ol te David khohmu, tonghma Gad taengla a pha tih,
12 Go and you will speak to David thus he says Yahweh three [things] I [am] laying on you choose for yourself one from them so I may do [it] to you.
“Cet lamtah he he David taengah thui pah, BOEIPA loh, 'Kai loh nang taengah pathum ka tai he namah ham pakhat ah tuek lamtah nang ham kan saii eh?,’ ti nah,” a ti nah.
13 And he went Gad to David and he told to him and he said to him ¿ will it come to you seven years - famine - in land your or? three months fleeing you before opponents your and he [will be] pursuing you and or? to be three days pestilence in land your now know and see what? will I bring back [the] [one who] sent me word.
Te dongah Gad te David taengah cet tih a puen pah. Te vaengah David te, “Na khohmuen ah khokha kum rhih ha pai saeh a? Na rhal rhoek mikhmuh ah hla thum na rhaelrham vetih nang n'hloem saeh a? Na khohmuen he hnin thum khuiah duektahaw om koinih ta. Ming lamtah hmu laeh. Mebang kan tueih ham khaw kamah taengla ol ham voei,” a ti nah.
14 And he said David to Gad it is distress to me exceedingly let us fall please in [the] hand of Yahweh for [are] great (compassion his *Q(K)*) and in [the] hand of humankind may not I fall.
David loh Gad taengah, “Kai puen ka cak tangkik coeng. A haidamnah tah aka len koek haidamnah la a om dongah BOEIPA kah kut dongah tla uh mai saeh lamtah hlang kut dongah ka tla boel mai eh,” a ti.
15 And he gave Yahweh pestilence in Israel from the morning and until a time of an appointed time and he died of the people from Dan and to Beer Sheba seventy thousand man.
Te dongah mincang lamloh khoning tue duela BOEIPA loh Israel soah duektahaw a paek. Te vaengah pilnam te Dan lamloh Beersheba duela hlang thawng sawmrhih duek.
16 And he stretched out hand his the angel - Jerusalem to destroy it and he relented Yahweh concerning the harm and he said to the angel the destroyer among the people enough now let drop hand your and [the] angel of Yahweh he was near [the] threshing floor of (Araunah *Q(K)*) the Jebusite.
Jerusalem te phae hamla puencawn loh a kut a thueng. Tedae yoethae kongah BOEIPA khaw damti coeng tih puencawn te, “Pilnam sokah kutcaihnah te temah laeh saeh, na kut yuek laeh,” a ti nah. Te vaengah BOEIPA kah puencawn tah Jebusi Araunah cangtilhmuen ah om.
17 And he said David to Yahweh when saw he - the angel - who was striking down the people and he said here! I (the shepherd *X*) I have sinned and I I have done wrong and these the sheep what? have they done let it be please hand your on me and on [the] house of father my.
Pilnam aka ngawn puencawn te a hmuh vaengah David loh BOEIPA taengah a bih tih, “Kai ka tholh coeng tih ka paihaeh coeng he. Tu rhoek loh balae a saii. Na kut he kamah so neh a pa kah imkhui ah tla mai saeh,” a ti nah.
18 And he came Gad to David on the day that and he said to him go up raise up to Yahweh an altar on [the] threshing floor of (Araunah *Q(K)*) the Jebusite.
Tekah khohnin ah Gad te David taengla pawk tih, “Cet lamtah, Jebusi Araunah kah cangtilhmuen ah BOEIPA ham hmueihtuk suem laeh,” a ti nah.
19 And he went up David according to [the] word of Gad just as he had commanded Yahweh.
Te dongah BOEIPA loh a uen Gad kah ol vanbangla David khaw cet.
20 And he looked down Araunah and he saw the king and servants his passing on to him and he went out Araunah and he bowed down to the king face his [the] ground towards.
Te vaengah Araunah loh a dan hatah manghai neh a sal rhoek loh amah taengla ham paan te a hmuh. Te dongah Araunah loh hlah uh tih manghai hmaiah a maelhmai neh diklai la a bakop pah.
21 And he said Araunah why? has he come lord my the king to servant his and he said David to buy from with you the threshing floor to build an altar to Yahweh so it may be restrained the plague from on the people.
Te vaengah Araunah loh, “Ka boei manghai loh a sal taengah balae tih ha pawk co?,” a ti. Te dongah David loh, “BOEIPA kah hmueihtuk suem hamla cangtilhmuen he nang taeng lamkah lai ham ni. Te daengah ni lucik tah pilnam taeng lamloh a paa eh?,” a ti nah.
22 And he said Araunah to David let him take and let him offer up lord my the king the good (in eyes his *Q(K)*) see the ox[en] for the burnt offering and the threshing-sledges and [the] equipment of the ox[en] for the wood.
Araunah loh David taengah, “Ka boei manghai loh a mikhmuh ah a mikdai aka then te lo saeh lamtah khuen pai saeh. Hmueihhlutnah vaito neh tloep khaw, thing hamla vaito dongkah hnopai khaw so lah he,” a ti nah.
23 Everything he gives Araunah O king to the king. And he said Araunah to the king Yahweh God your may he accept favorably you.
Soeprhaep boeih te Araunah loh manghai hut la manghai taengah a paek. Te vaengah Araunah loh manghai te, “BOEIPA na Pathen loh nang te m'moeithen nawn saeh,” a ti nah.
24 And he said the king to Araunah In-deed certainly I will buy [it] from you for a price and not I will offer up to Yahweh God my burnt offerings without paying and he bought David the threshing floor and the ox[en] for silver shekels fifty.
Tedae manghai loh Araunah taengah, “Pawh, nang taeng lamkah he a phu neh ka lai la ka lai eh. Hmueihhlutnah he BOEIPA ka Pathen taengah a yoeyup la ka khuen mahpawh,” a ti nah. Te phoeiah David loh cangtilhmuen neh vaito te cak shekel sawmnga neh a lai.
25 And he built there David an altar to Yahweh and he offered up burnt offerings and peace offerings and he was entreated Yahweh for the land and it was restrained the plague from on Israel.
Te phoeiah David loh BOEIPA ham hmueihtuk pahoi a suem tih hmueihhlutnah neh rhoepnah hmueih te a khuen. Te daengah te khohmuen ham BOEIPA taengah thangthui tih Israel sokah lucik te khaw cing van.
