< 2 Samuel 13 >

1 And it was after thus and [belonged] to Absalom [the] son of David a sister a beautiful and name her [was] Tamar and he loved her Amnon [the] son of David.
Na Dawid babarima Absalom wɔ nuabaa bi a na ne ho yɛ fɛ yie. Na saa ɔbaa no din de Tamar. Na Amnon a ɔyɛ ne nuabarima no kɔn dɔɔ no.
2 And it was distress to Amnon to make himself sick for sake of Tamar sister his for [was] a virgin she and it was difficult in [the] eyes of Amnon to do to her anything.
Amnon tuu nʼani sii Tamar so ara kɔsii sɛ ɛbɔɔ no yadeɛ. Na ɔyɛ ɔbaabunu enti, na Amnon susu sɛ ne dɔ no nkɔsi hwee.
3 And [belonged] to Amnon a friend and name his [was] Jonadab [the] son of Shimeah [the] brother of David and Jonadab [was] a man shrewd very.
Na Amnon wɔ adamfo oniferefoɔ bi a wɔfrɛ no Yonadab. Na ɔyɛ Dawid nuabarima Simea babarima.
4 And he said to him why? [are] you thus weak O son of the king in the morning in the morning ¿ not will you tell to me and he said to him Amnon Tamar [the] sister of Absalom brother my I [am] loving.
Ɛda koro bi, Yonadab bisaa Amnon sɛ, “Asɛm bɛn na aba? Adɛn enti na ɛsɛ sɛ ɔhene babarima yɛ bosaa anɔpa biara saa?” Na Amnon buaa no sɛ, “Medɔ Tamar, Absalom nuabaa no.”
5 And he said to him Jonadab lie down on bed your and make yourself sick and he will come father your to see you and you will say to him let her come please Tamar sister my and let her cause to eat me food and she will make to eyes my the food so that that I may see and I will eat from hand her.
Yonadab kaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ, mɛkyerɛ wo deɛ wobɛyɛ. Sane kɔ na kɔda wo mpa so, na hyɛ da yɛ sɛ deɛ woyare no. Sɛ wʼagya bɛhunu wo a, ka kyerɛ no sɛ ɔnka nkyerɛ Tamar, na ɔmmɛyɛ aduane bi mma wo nni. Ka kyerɛ no sɛ, sɛ ɔno brɛ wo aduane di a, wo ho bɛtɔ wo.”
6 And he lay down Amnon and he made himself sick and he came the king to see him and he said Amnon to the king let her come please Tamar sister my and let her make cakes to eyes my two cakes so I may eat from hand her.
Enti, Amnon boapa yareeɛ. Na ɔhene no bɛsraa no no, Amnon ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Mesrɛ wo, ma Tamar mmɛhwɛ me, na ɔnnoa biribi mma menni.”
7 And he sent David to Tamar the house towards saying go please [the] house of Amnon brother your and make for him the food.

8 And she went Tamar [the] house of Amnon brother her and he [was] lying down and she took the dough (and she kneaded [it] *Q(k)*) and she made cakes to eyes his and she cooked the cakes.
Ɛberɛ a Tamar duruu Amnon efie hɔ no, ɔkɔɔ ɛdan a na ɔda mu no mu, sɛdeɛ sɛ Tamar refotɔ asikyiresiam a ɔbɛhunu. Enti, ɔtoo burodo sononko bi maa no.
9 And she took the pan and she poured out before him and he refused to eat and he said Amnon send out every person from with me and they went out every person from with him.

10 And he said Amnon to Tamar bring the food the chamber so I may eat from hand your and she took Tamar the cakes which she had made and she brought [them] to Amnon brother her the chamber towards.
Afei, ɔka kyerɛɛ Tamar sɛ, “Fa aduane no brɛ me wɔ me pia mu, na bubu hyɛ mʼano.” Enti, Tamar maa so de kɔɔ hɔ.
11 And she brought [them] to him to eat and he took hold on her and he said to her come lie with me O sister my.
Na ɛberɛ a ɔgu so de rema no no, ɔto hyɛɛ ne so, na ɔkaa sɛ, “Wo ne me nna, me nuabaa ɔdɔfoɔ.”
12 And she said to him may [you] not O brother my may not you humble me for not it will be done thus in Israel may not you do the disgraceful folly this.
Na Tamar teaam sɛ, “Dabi, onua barima! Nni saa nkwaseasɛm no! Ɛnyɛ me saa! Wonim sɛ, sɛ woyɛ a, ɛyɛ bɔne kɛseɛ wɔ Israel.
13 And I where? will I bring reproach my and you you will be like one of the fools in Israel and now speak please to the king for not he will withhold me from you.

14 And not he was willing to listen to voice her and he was strong more than her and he humbled her and he lay with with her.
Nanso, Amnon ampene so. Na ɛsiane sɛ ɔwɔ ahoɔden sene Tamar enti, ɔtoo no monnaa.
15 And he hated her Amnon hatred great very that [was] great the hatred which he hated her more than [the] love which he had loved her and he said to her Amnon get up go.
Ɛhɔ ara, Amnon dɔ no danee ɔtan. Ɔtan no mu yɛɛ den sen ɔdɔ a na ɔdɔ no no. Ɔteateaam sɛ, “Firi ha kɔ ntɛm!”
16 And she said to him may not [the] causes of the evil great this [be] more than [the] other which you have done with me to send away me and not he was willing to listen to her.
Tamar nso teateaam sɛ, “Dabi. Sɛ worepam me afiri ha seesei no yɛ bɔne kɛseɛ koraa sene deɛ woayɛ me dada no.” Nanso, Amnon ampɛ sɛ ɔbɛtie no.
17 And he summoned young man his [who] served him and he said send away please this [woman] from with me the outside towards and lock the door after her.
Ɔteaam frɛɛ ne ɔsomfoɔ hyɛɛ no sɛ, “Pam saa ɔbaa yi firi ha, na to ɛpono no mu!”
18 And [was] on her a long garment of palms and soles for thus they wore [the] daughters of the king the virgins robes and he made go out her servant his the outside and he locked the door after her.
Enti, ɔsomfoɔ no pamoo no. Na ɔhyɛ batakari tenten fɛfɛ bi sɛdeɛ na amanneɛ kyerɛ wɔ ɔhene babaa a ɔyɛ ɔbaabunu ho no.
19 And she took Tamar ash[es] on head her and [the] long garment of the palms and soles which [was] on her she tore and she put hand her on head her and she went continuously and she cried out.
Nanso, Tamar sunsuanee ne batakari no mu, de nsõ guu ne tiri mu. Afei, ɔde ne nsa kataa nʼani, de esu sii ɛkwan so.
20 And he said to her Absalom brother her ¿ Amnon brother your has he been with you and now O sister my keep silent [is] brother your he may not you set heart your to the matter this and she dwelt Tamar a desolate [woman] [the] house of Absalom brother her.
Ne nuabarima Absalom hunuu no bisaa no sɛ, “Wo nuabarima Amnon ne wo ada anaa? Yɛ dinn, me nuabaa; ɔyɛ wo nuabarima. Mfa saa asɛm yi nhyɛ wʼakoma mu.” Na Tamar tenaa ase sɛ ankonam werɛhoni baa wɔ Absalom fie.
21 And the king David he heard all the things these and it burned to him exceedingly.
Ɛberɛ a ɔhene Dawid tee asɛm yi no, ne bo fuu yie.
22 And not he spoke Absalom with Amnon from bad and unto good for he hated Absalom Amnon on [the] thing that he had humbled Tamar sister his.
Absalom nso anka ho hwee ankyerɛ Amnon. Nanso, ɔtan Amnon yie, ɛfiri sɛ, wagu ne nuabaa Tamar anim ase.
23 And it was to two years days and they belonged shearers to Absalom at Baal Hazor which [is] near Ephraim and he invited Absalom all [the] sons of the king.

24 And he went Absalom to the king and he said here! please shearers [belong] to servant your let him go please the king and servants his with servant your.
Absalom kɔɔ ɔhene nkyɛn kɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Me nnwan nwitwitwafoɔ reyɛ adwuma. Ɔhene ne nʼasomfoɔ bɛba abɛka me ho anaa?”
25 And he said the king to Absalom may [we] not O son my may not please we go all of us and not we will be heavy on you and he urged him and not he was willing to go and he blessed him.
Ɔhene buaa sɛ, “Dabi, me ba. Ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛn nyinaa kɔ; yɛbɛyɛ ɔhaw ama wo.” Ɛwom sɛ Absalom hyɛɛ no deɛ, nanso wampene sɛ ɔbɛkorɔ, na ɔhyiraa no kosɛkosɛ.
26 And he said Absalom and not let him go please with us Amnon brother my and he said to him the king why? will he go with you.
Na Absalom kaa sɛ, “Sɛ saa na ɛte deɛ a, ma me nuabarima Amnon mmɛka yɛn ho.” Ɔhene no bisaa no sɛ, “Adɛn enti na wobisa Amnon?”
27 And he urged him Absalom and he sent with him Amnon and all [the] sons of the king.
Nanso, ɔhyɛɛ no enti, ɔmaa Amnon ne ahenemma no nyinaa bɛkaa ne ho.
28 And he commanded Absalom servants his saying look please when is good [the] heart of Amnon with the wine and I will say to you strike down Amnon and you will kill him may not you be afraid ¿ In-deed I I have commanded you be strong and become sons of strength.
Absalom ka kyerɛɛ ne nkurɔfoɔ no sɛ, “Montie! Montwɛn na Amnon mmoro nsã, na afei mɛyɛ nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ na moakum no. Monnsuro. Me ara na mahyɛ mo sɛ monyɛ saa. Momfa akokoɔduru nyɛ.”
29 And they did [the] servants of Absalom to Amnon just as he had commanded Absalom and they arose - all [the] sons of the king and they mounted each on mule his and they fled.
Enti, Absalom mmarima no yɛɛ Amnon saa, sɛdeɛ Absalom hyɛɛ wɔn no. Afei, ahene mmammarima no nyinaa sɔre tenatenaa wɔn mfunumu so, na wɔdwaneeɛ.
30 And it was they [were] on the way and the report it came to David saying he has struck down Absalom all [the] sons of the king and not he is left of them one.
Ɛberɛ a wɔresane akɔ Yerusalem no, saa asɛm yi duruu Dawid asom sɛ, “Absalom akunkum wo mmammarima no nyinaa a anka ɔbaako koraa.”
31 And he arose the king and he tore garments his and he lay down [the] ground towards and all servants his [were] standing torn of garments.
Ɔhene no huri sii fam, sunsuanee nʼatadeɛ mu, daa fam. Nʼafotufoɔ nyinaa de ahodwirie ne awerɛhoɔ sunsuanee wɔn ntadeɛ mu, dedaa fam saa ara.
32 And he answered Jonadab - [the] son of Shimeah [the] brother of David and he said may not he say lord my all the young men [the] sons of the king they have killed for Amnon to only him he has died for on [the] mouth of Absalom it was determined from [the] day humbled he Tamar sister his.
Nanso, ankyɛre biara na Yonadab a ɔyɛ Dawid nuabarima Simea babarima no bɛduruu hɔ kaa sɛ, “Dabi, ɛnte saa. Ɛnyɛ wo mma no nyinaa na wɔakunkum wɔn. Amnon nko ara na wɔakum no. Ɛfiri ɛberɛ a Amnon too ne nuabaa Tamar monnaa no, na Absalom yɛɛ nʼadwene saa.
33 And therefore may not he set lord my the king to heart his a word saying all [the] sons of the king they have died that (except *Q(K)*) Amnon to only him he has died.

34 And he fled Absalom and he lifted up the servant who kept watch (eyes his *Q(K)*) and he saw and there! a people numerous [was] coming from [the] road behind him (at the descent and he went the watchman and he told to the king and he said men I saw [were] going down from direction of Horonaim *X*) from [the] side of the mountain.
Saa ɛberɛ no, na Absalom adwane. Ɔwɛmfoɔ a ɔwɔ Yerusalem ɔfasuo so no hunuu sɛ ɛdɔm kɛseɛ firi atɔeɛ fam reba kuro no mu. Ɔtuu mmirika kɔbɔɔ ɔhene amaneɛ sɛ, “Mahunu sɛ ɛdɔm firi Horonaim ɛkwan a ɛda bepɔ no nkyɛn mu hɔ no so reba.”
35 And he said Jonadab to the king there! [the] sons of the king they have come according to [the] word of servant your so it has happened.
Yonadab ka kyerɛɛ ɔhene no sɛ, “Wɔn na wɔreba no! Wo mma no reba sɛdeɛ mekaeɛ no.”
36 And it was - when finished he to speak and there! [the] sons of the king they came and they lifted up voice their and they wept and also the king and all servants his they wept a weeping a great very.
Ankyɛre na wɔbɛduruiɛ a, wɔretwa adwo, te anisuo, na ɔhene ne ne mpanimfoɔ nso twaa agyaadwoɔ.
37 And Absalom he fled and he went to Talmai [the] son of (Ammihud *Q(K)*) [the] king of Geshur and he mourned on son his all the days.
Na Dawid suu ne babarima Amnon nna bebree. Na Absalom dwane kɔɔ ne nana barima Talmai a na ɔyɛ Amihud a na ɔyɛ ɔhene Gesur no babarima nkyɛn.
38 And Absalom he fled and he went Geshur and he was there three years.
Ɔkɔtenaa Gesur hɔ mfeɛ mmiɛnsa.
39 And it [fem] completed David the king to go out against Absalom for he was comforted on Amnon that he had died.
Na Dawid a afei wagyae Amnon wuo no ho asɛm no pɛɛ sɛ ɔne ne babarima Absalom sane ka bom.
