< 2 Samuel 12 >

1 And he sent Yahweh Nathan to David and he came to him and he said to him two men they were in a city one one [was] rich and one [was] poor.
2 To [the] rich [man] it belonged flock[s] and herd[s] many very.
Na osikani no wɔ nnwan ne anantwie bebree,
3 And [belonged] to the poor [man] not anything that except a ewe-lamb one small which he had acquired and he nourished it and it grew up with him and with children his together from morsel his it ate and from cup his it drank and in bosom his it lay down and it was to him like a daughter.
ohiani no deɛ, na ɔnni hwee ka odwanbereɛ ketewa bi a ɔtɔɔ no ho. Ɔyɛn no maa ɔne ɔno ankasa mma nyini boom. Na ɔne aboa no di nʼaduane, nom firi ne kuruwa mu, na nna mu nso, na daa ɔda nʼabasa so. Na ɔte sɛ ɔbabaa ma no.
4 And he came a traveler to [the] man rich and he spared to take one of own sheep his and one of own cattle his to prepare for the traveler who had come to him and he took [the] ewe-lamb of the man poor and he prepared it for the man who had come to him.
“Ɛda koro bi, ɔhɔhoɔ bi baa osikani no nkyɛn, nanso wankum ne nnwan anaa ne nantwie annoa aduane amfa ansom no hɔhoɔ. Na mmom, ɔkɔkyeree ohiani no odwanbereɛ no, de yɛɛ aduane maa ɔhɔhoɔ a wabɛsoɛ no no.”
5 And it burned [the] anger of David on the man exceedingly and he said to Nathan [by] [the] life of Yahweh for [is] a son of death the man who did this.
Dawid tee asɛm no, ne bo fuu saa ɔbarima no yie, na ɔka kyerɛɛ Natan sɛ, “Mmerɛ dodoɔ a Awurade te ase yi, ɛfata sɛ ɔbarima a ɔyɛɛ saa no wuo.
6 And the ewe-lamb he will restore fourfold consequence that he did the thing this and on that not he showed pity.
Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔtua odwanbereɛ no ka mmɔ ho ɛnan sɛ ɔyɛɛ bɔne saa a wannya ahummɔborɔ biara.”
7 And he said Nathan to David you [are] the man thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel I I anointed you to king over Israel and I I delivered you from [the] hand of Saul.
Ɛhɔ ara, Natan ka kyerɛɛ Dawid sɛ, “Wone saa ɔbarima no! Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn, se, ‘Mesraa wo sɛ Israelhene, gyee wo firii Saulo tumi ase.
8 And I gave! to you [the] house of master your and [the] wives of master your in bosom your and I gave! to you [the] house of Israel and Judah and if little and I will add to you like those and like those.
Mede ne fie ne ne yerenom ne Israel ne Yuda ahemman maa wo. Na sɛ na ɛnonom nnɔɔso a, anka mɛma wo bebree aka ho.
9 Why? have you despised - [the] word of Yahweh by doing the evil (in eyes my *Q(K)*) Uriah the Hittite you struck down with the sword and wife his you took for yourself to a wife and him you killed with [the] sword of [the] people of Ammon.
Adɛn enti na woabu Awurade asɛm animtia, na woayɛ bɔne a ɛte saa? Woakum Hetini Uria, awia ne yere.
10 And therefore not it will depart [the] sword from house your until perpetuity consequence for you despised me and you took [the] wife of Uriah the Hittite to become of you a wife.
Ɛfiri ɛnnɛ rekorɔ, akofena na ɛbɛyɛ ahunahunadeɛ ama wo fiefoɔ, ɛfiri sɛ, woabu me animtia, afa Hetini Uria yere de no ayɛ wo yere.’
11 Thus - he says Yahweh here I [am] about to raise up on you calamity from own house your and I will take wives your to eyes your and I will give [them] to neighbor your and he will lie with wives your to [the] eyes of the sun this.
“Esiane deɛ woayɛ yi enti, me Awurade, mɛma wʼankasa fidua mufoɔ asɔre atia wo. Mede wo yerenom bɛma ɔbarima foforɔ, na ɔne wɔn bɛda ama obiara ahunu.
12 For you you acted in secret and I I will do the thing this before all Israel and before the sun.
Woyɛɛ yei wɔ kɔkoam, nanso mɛma deɛ ɛreba wo so no ada dwa, ama Israel nyinaa ahunu.”
13 And he said David to Nathan I have sinned to Yahweh. And he said Nathan to David also Yahweh he has taken away sin your not you will die.
Natan buaa sɛ, “Awurade ayi wo bɔne no afiri wo so. Worenwu.
14 Nevertheless for indeed you have declared contemptible [the] enemies of Yahweh by the thing this also the son born to you certainly he will die.
Nanso, sɛ woama Awurade atamfoɔ ɛkwan sɛ wɔmmu no animtia, ngu ne din ho fi enti, ɔba a wɔbɛwo no ama wo no bɛwu.”
15 And he went Nathan to house his and he struck Yahweh the child whom she had borne [the] wife of Uriah to David and he was sick.
Natan kɔɔ ne fie ara pɛ, Awurade maa abɔfra a Uria yere Batseba wo maa Dawid no yaree dendeenden.
16 And he sought David God for the lad and he fasted David a fast and he went and he passed [the] night and he lay (in the sackcloth *X*) [the] ground towards.
Dawid srɛɛ Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔmma abɔfra no nkye. Ɔkyenee ho kɔm, na ɔkɔɔ fie, na anadwo mu no nyinaa, ɔdaa fam tim.
17 And they stood [the] elders of house his with him to raise him from the ground and not he was willing and not he ate with them food.
Mpanimfoɔ a wɔwɔ ne fie srɛɛ no sɛ ɔnsɔre na ɔne wɔn nnidi, nanso wampene.
18 And it was on the day seventh and he died the child and they were afraid [the] servants of David to tell to him - that he had died the child for they said here! when was the child alive we spoke to him and not he listened to voice our and how? will we say to him he has died the child and he will do harm.
Ne nnanson so, abɔfra no wuiɛ. Na Dawid afotufoɔ no suro sɛ wɔbɛbɔ no amaneɛ sɛ abɔfra no awu, ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔn adwene ne sɛ, “Ɛberɛ a na abɔfra no te ase no, yɛkasa kyerɛɛ Dawid, nanso wantie yɛn. Na ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na yɛatumi aka akyerɛ no sɛ abɔfra no awu? Anhwɛ a, ɔbɛyɛ ne ho biribi.”
19 And he saw David that servants his [were] whispering to one another and he understood David that he had died the child and he said David to servants his ¿ has he died the child and they said he has died.
Na Dawid hunuu sɛ nʼafotufoɔ no reyɛ huhuhuhu no, ɔtee nka sɛ abɔfra no awu. Ɔbisaa sɛ, “Abɔfra no awu anaa?” Wɔbuaa sɛ, “Aane, wawu.”
20 And he arose David from the ground and he bathed and he anointed himself and he changed (garments his *Q(K)*) and he went [the] house of Yahweh and he bowed down and he went to own house his and he asked and they set for him food and he ate.
Afei, ɔkɔɔ nʼankasa efie, na ɔno ankasa bisa ma wɔbrɛɛ no aduane, na ɔdidiiɛ.
21 And they said servants his to him what? [is] the thing this which you have done for sake of the child [was] alive you fasted and you wept and just when he died the child you arose and you ate food.
Nʼafotufoɔ no bisaa no sɛ, “Deɛ woreyɛ yi, aseɛ ne sɛn? Ɛberɛ a abɔfra no te ase no, wodii mmuada, twaa agyaadwoɔ. Na afei a wawu no mmom na woasɔre adidie!”
22 And he said while still the child [was] alive I fasted and I wept for I said who? [is] knowing (and he will show favor to me *Q(K)*) Yahweh and he will live the child.
Ɔbuaa sɛ, “Ɛberɛ a na abɔfra no da so te ase no deɛ, medii abuada, twaa agyaadwoɔ. Medwenee sɛ, ‘Hwan na ɔnim? Ebia, Awurade bɛhunu me mmɔbɔ ama abɔfra no atena.’
23 And now - he has died why? this [am] I fasting ¿ am I able to bring back him again I [am] going to him and he not he will return to me.
Na afei a wawu yi, adɛn enti na ɛsɛ sɛ medi abuada? Mɛtumi asane de no aba nkwa mu bio anaa? Mɛkɔ ne nkyɛn da bi, na ɔno deɛ, ɔrensane mma me nkyɛn ha da.”
24 And he comforted David Bath-sheba wife his and he went into her and he lay with her and she bore a son (and she called *Q(K)*) name his Solomon and Yahweh he loved him.
Ɔnyinsɛneeɛ, woo ɔbabarima, na wɔtoo no edin Salomo. Awurade pɛɛ abɔfra no asɛm,
25 And he sent by [the] hand of Nathan the prophet and he called name his Jedidiah for sake of Yahweh.
na ɔde asɛm faa odiyifoɔ Natan so sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ abɔfra no din yɛ Yedidia, ɛfiri sɛ na Awurade dɔ no.
26 And he fought Joab against Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon and he captured [the] city of royalty.
Saa ɛberɛ no, na Yoab ne Israel akodɔm no reyɛ awie Amon ahenkuro Raba tua no nkonimdie so.
27 And he sent Joab messengers to David and he said I have fought against Rabbah also I have captured [the] city of the waters.
Yoab somaa abɔfoɔ kɔɔ Dawid nkyɛn, kɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Mako atia Raba, afa deɛ wɔnya wɔn nsuo firie.
28 And therefore gather [the] rest of the people and encamp on the city and capture it lest I should take I the city and it will be called name my on it.
Afei, fa akodɔm a wɔaka no bra na wɔnwie adwuma no, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, wobɛnya nkonimdie animuonyam no sene sɛ ɛbɛyɛ me dea.”
29 And he gathered David all the people and he went Rabbah towards and he fought against it and he captured it.
Enti, Dawid dii nʼakodɔm a wɔaka no anim kɔɔ Raba kɔfaa hɔ.
30 And he took [the] crown of king their from on head his and weight its [was] a talent of gold and a stone precious and it was on [the] head of David and [the] plunder of the city he brought out much very.
Dawid foo asadeɛ bebree wɔ kuropɔn no mu.
31 And the people which [was] in it he brought out and he set [them] at the saws and at [the] picks of iron and at [the] axes of iron and he caused to pass them (in the brick mold[s] *Q(K)*) and thus he did to all [the] cities of [the] people of Ammon and he returned David and all the people Jerusalem.
Ɔsane faa nnipa a wɔwɔ Raba no sɛ nkoa, hyɛɛ wɔn, ma wɔde ɛwan, pinkase ne nkuma yɛɛ adwuma wɔ ntayaa fononoo ho.
