2 Samuel 10
1 And it was after thus and he died [the] king of [the] people of Ammon and he reigned Hanun son his in place his.
Og det skete derefter, at Ammons Børns Konge døde, og Hanon, hans Søn, blev Konge i hans Sted.
2 And he said David I will do covenant loyalty - with Hanun [the] son of Nahash just as he did father his with me covenant loyalty and he sent David to comfort him by [the] hand of servants his concerning father his and they came [the] servants of David [the] land of [the] people of Ammon.
Da sagde David: Jeg vil gøre Miskundhed imod Hanon, Nahas's Søn, ligesom hans Fader gjorde Miskundhed imod mig; og David sendte hen for at trøste ham ved sine Tjenere over hans Fader, og Davids Tjenere kom til Ammons Børns Land.
3 And they said [the] leaders of [the] people of Ammon to Hanun lord their ¿ honoring [is] David father your in view your for he has sent to you comforters ¿ not in order to explore the city and to spy on it and to overthrow it has he sent David servants his to you.
Da sagde Ammons Børns Fyrster til Hanon, deres Herre: Synes det for dine Øjne, at David ærer din Fader, ved at han sender dig Trøstere? mon David ikke har sendt sine Tjenere til dig for at udforske Staden og for at bespejde den og omstyrte den?
4 And he took Hanun [the] servants of David and he shaved half of beard their and he cut off robes their at the middle to buttocks their and he sent away them.
Da tog Hanon Davids Tjenere og lod rage Halvdelen af deres Skæg og afskar Halvdelen af deres Klæder indtil Sædet og lod dem fare.
5 And people told to David and he sent to meet them for they were the men humiliated very and he said the king remain at Jericho until it will grow back beard your and you will return.
Der de gave David det til Kende, da sendte han dem et Bud i Møde; thi Mændene vare saare forhaanede; og Kongen lod sige: Bliver i Jeriko, indtil eders Skæg vokser, og kommer da tilbage.
6 And they saw [the] people of Ammon that they had made themselves odious with David and they sent [the] people of Ammon and they hired Aram Beth Rehob and Aram Zobah twenty thousand foot soldier[s] and [the] king of Maacah one thousand man and [the] man of Tob two [plus] ten thousand man.
Der Ammons Børn saa, at de havde gjort sig forhadte for David, da sendte Ammons Børn hen og lejede Syrerne af Rekobs Hus og Syrerne af Zoba, tyve Tusinde Mand Fodfolk, og tusinde Mand af Kongen af Maaka og Mændene af Tob, tolv Tusinde Mand.
7 And he heard David and he sent Joab and all the army the warriors.
Der David hørte det, da udsendte han Joab og de vældiges ganske Hær.
8 And they went out [the] people of Ammon and they deployed battle [the] entrance of the gate and Aram Zobah and Rehob and [the] man of Tob and Maacah to alone them [were] in the open country.
Og Ammons Børn droge ud og opstillede deres Slagorden ved Indgangen til Porten; men Syrerne af Zoba og Rekob og Mændene af Tob og Maaka stode for sig alene paa Marken.
9 And he saw Joab that it was against him [the] face of the battle from before and from behind and he chose some of all [the] chosen [men] (of Israel *Q(K)*) and he deployed [them] to meet Aram.
Der Joab saa, at Krigen truede ham for og bagfra, da udvalgte han nogle af alle de udvalgte i Israel og opstillede sig imod Syrerne.
10 And [the] rest of the people he put in [the] hand of Abishai brother his and he deployed [them] to meet [the] people of Ammon.
Og det øvrige Folk gav han under sin Broder Abisajs Haand, og denne opstillede sig imod Ammons Børn.
11 And he said if it will be [too] strong Aram for me and you will become of me deliverance and if [the] people of Ammon they will be [too] strong for you and I will come to deliver you.
Og han sagde: Dersom Syrerne blive mig for stærke, da skal du være mig til Hjælp; men dersom Ammons Børn blive dig for stærke, da vil jeg komme til at hjælpe dig.
12 Be strong so we may show ourselves strong for people our and for [the] cities of God our and Yahweh he will do the good in view his.
Vær frimodig, og lader os være frimodige for vort Folk og for vor Guds Stæder; men Herren gøre, hvad som er godt for hans Øjne.
13 And he drew near Joab and the people which [was] with him for battle in Aram and they fled from before him.
Da drog Joab frem og det Folk, som var hos ham, til Kamp imod Syrerne, og de flyede for hans Ansigt.
14 And [the] people of Ammon they saw that it had fled Aram and they fled from before Abishai and they went the city and he returned Joab from on [the] people of Ammon and he came Jerusalem.
Der Ammons Børn saa, at Syrerne flyede, flyede de og for Abisajs Ansigt og kom i Staden. Saa vendte Joab tilbage fra Ammons Børn og kom til Jerusalem.
15 And it saw Aram that it was defeated before Israel and they gathered themselves together.
Og der Syrerne saa, at de vare slagne for Israels Ansigt, da samledes de til Hobe.
16 And he sent Hadadezer and he brought out Aram which [was] from [the] other side of the River and they came Helam and Shobach [the] commander of [the] army of Hadadezer [was] before them.
Og Hadad-Eser sendte hen og førte Syrerne, som vare paa hin Side Floden, frem, og de kom til Helam; og Sobak, som var Hadad-Esers Stridshøvedsmand, var i Spidsen for dem.
17 And it was told to David. And he gathered all Israel and he passed over the Jordan and he came Helam towards and they deployed Aram to meet David and they did battle with him.
Der det blev David tilkendegivet, da samlede han al Israel og drog over Jordanen og kom til Helam, og Syrerne opstillede sig imod David og strede med ham.
18 And it fled Aram from before Israel and he killed David of Aram seven hundred charioteer[s] and forty thousand horsemen and Shobach [the] commander of army its he struck down and he died there.
Men Syrerne flyede for Israels Ansigt, og David ødelagde blandt Syrerne syv Hundrede Vogne og fyrretyve Tusinde Ryttere, tillige slog han og Sobak, hans Stridshøvedsmand, saa at denne døde der.
19 And they saw all the kings [the] servants of Hadadezer that they were defeated before Israel and they made peace with Israel and they served them and they were afraid Aram to deliver again [the] people of Ammon.
Der alle de Konger, som vare Hadad-Esers Tjenere, saa, at de vare slagne for Israels Ansigt, da gjorde de Fred med Israel og tjente dem; og Syrerne frygtede for at hjælpe Ammons Børn ydermere.
