2 Kings 25
1 And it was in [the] year ninth of reigning his in the month tenth on the ten of the month he came Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon he and all army his on Jerusalem and he encamped on it and they built on it a siege-wall all around.
Alors, dans la neuvième année de son règne, le dixième mois et le dixième jour du mois, Nabuchodonozor, roi de Babylone, marcha avec toute son armée contre Jérusalem; il campa sous ses murs et on éleva des retranchements sur tout son circuit.
2 And it came the city in state of siege until one [plus] ten year of the king Zedekiah.
La ville subit le siège jusqu’à la onzième année du règne de Sédécias.
3 (In the month fourth *X*) on [day] nine of the month and it was severe the famine in the city and not it belonged food to [the] people of the land.
Le neuf du mois, la famine sévit dans la ville et les gens du peuple manquèrent de pain.
4 And it was broken into the city and all [the] men of war - this night [the] way of [the] gate - between the two walls which [was] at [the] garden of the king and [the] Chaldeans [were] on the city all around and he went [the] direction of the Arabah.
Alors la ville fut ouverte par une brèche; aussitôt tous les gens de guerre s’échappèrent de nuit par la porte du double rempart attenante au parc du roi, tandis que les Chaldéens cernaient la ville, et prirent la direction de la Plaine.
5 And they pursued [the] army of [the] Chaldeans after the king and they overtook him in [the] plains of Jericho and all army his they were scattered from with him.
L’Armée chaldéenne se mit à la poursuite du roi et l’atteignit dans la plaine de Jéricho, alors que sa propre armée s’était débandée en l’abandonnant.
6 And they seized the king and they brought up him to [the] king of Babylon Riblah towards and they spoke with him judgment.
On fit le roi prisonnier et on l’amena auprès du roi de Babylone à Ribla, où l’on prononça sa sentence.
7 And [the] sons of Zedekiah they slaughtered to eyes his and [the] eyes of Zedekiah he made blind and he bound him with bronze fetters and he brought him Babylon.
D’Abord on égorgea les fils de Sédécias à sa vue, puis on lui creva les yeux, on le jeta dans les fers et on le transporta à Babylone.
8 And in the month fifth on [day] seven of the month it [was] year nine-teen year of the king Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon he came Nebuzaradan [the] chief of [the] bodyguards [the] servant of [the] king of Babylon Jerusalem.
Le septième jour du cinquième mois, qui correspond à la dix-neuvième année du règne de Nabuchodonozor, roi de Babylone, Nebouzaradan, chef des gardes, serviteur du roi de Babylone, entra dans Jérusalem.
9 And he burned [the] house of Yahweh and [the] house of the king and all [the] houses of Jerusalem and every house of a great [person] he burned with fire.
Il mit le feu au temple du Seigneur et au palais du roi; de même, il livra aux flammes toutes les maisons de Jérusalem, à savoir toute maison d’un personnage important.
10 And [the] walls of Jerusalem all around they broke down all [the] army of [the] Chaldeans who [was the] chief of [the] bodyguards.
Et les remparts qui entouraient Jérusalem, toute l’armée chaldéenne, placée sous les ordres du chef des gardes, les démolit.
11 And [the] rest of the people which remained in the city and those [who] fell who they fell on the king of Babylon and [the] rest of the multitude he took into exile Nebuzaradan [the] chief of [the] bodyguards.
Nebouzaradan, chef des gardes, envoya en exil le reste de la population qui était demeurée dans la ville, les transfuges qui s’étaient jetés entre les bras du roi de Babylone et le surplus de la multitude.
12 And some of [the] poor people of the land he left behind [the] chief of [the] bodyguards to vinedressers and to ploughmen.
Le chef des gardes ne laissa dans le pays que des gens de la basse classe comme vignerons et laboureurs.
13 And [the] pillars of bronze which [were] [the] house of Yahweh and the stands and [the] sea of bronze which [was] in [the] house of Yahweh they broke [the] Chaldeans and they carried bronze their Babylon towards.
Les colonnes d’airain qui se trouvaient dans la maison de Dieu, les supports et la Mer d’airain du temple, les Chaldéens les brisèrent et en emportèrent l’airain à Babylone.
14 And the pots and the shovels and the snuffers and the pans and all [the] articles of bronze which people served with them they took.
Ils prirent aussi les cendriers, les pelles, les couteaux, les cuillers, et tous les ustensiles d’airain qui servaient au culte.
15 And the fire-pans and the bowls which [were] gold gold and which [were] silver silver he took [the] chief of [the] bodyguards.
Le chef des gardes s’empara encore des brasiers et des bassins, tant en or qu’en argent.
16 The pillars - two the sea one and the stands which he had made Solomon for [the] house of Yahweh not it belonged weight to [the] bronze of all the articles these.
Quant aux deux colonnes, à la Mer unique et aux supports que Salomon avait faits pour le temple du Seigneur, le poids de l’airain de tous ces objets ne peut être évalué.
17 [was] eight-Teen cubit[s] [the] height of - the pillar one and a capital [was] on it - bronze and [the] height of the capital [was] three (cubits *Q(K)*) and a network and pomegranates [were] on the capital all around everything [was] bronze and like these [things] [belonged] to the pillar second with the network.
La hauteur d’une des colonnes était de dix-huit coudées; elle était surmontée d’un chapiteau d’airain haut de trois coudées et entouré d’un treillage et de grenades, le tout en airain. Telle la deuxième colonne, treillage compris.
18 And he took [the] chief of [the] bodyguards Seraiah [the] priest of the head and Zephaniah a priest second and [the] three [the] keepers of the threshold.
Le chef des gardes s’assura de la personne de Seraïa, le grand-prêtre, de Cephania, le grand prêtre suppléant, et des trois gardiens du seuil.
19 And from the city he took a court-official one who he [was] overseer - over [the] men of war and five men from [those who] saw [the] face of the king who they were found in the city and the scribe [the] commander of the army who mustered [the] people of the land and sixty man from [the] people of the land who were found in the city.
Des habitants de la ville, il arrêta un officier, préposé aux gens de guerre, cinq des conseillers intimes du roi qui furent surpris dans la ville, le secrétaire, chef du recrutement, chargé d’enrôler la population du pays, ainsi que soixante hommes de cette population qui se trouvaient dans la ville.
20 And he took them Nebuzaradan [the] chief of [the] bodyguards and he brought them to [the] king of Babylon Riblah towards.
Nebouzaradan, chef des gardes, emmena tous ces prisonniers et les conduisit au roi de Babylone à Ribla.
21 And he struck down them [the] king of Babylon and he put to death them at Riblah in [the] land of Hamath and it went into exile Judah from on land its.
Le roi de Babylone les fit frapper et mettre à mort à Ribla, dans le district de Hamat. Ainsi s’accomplit l’exil de Juda loin de son sol.
22 And the people who remained in [the] land of Judah whom he left behind Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon and he appointed over them Gedaliah [the] son of Ahikam [the] son of Shaphan.
Quant à la population restée dans le pays de Juda, et que Nabuchodonozor, roi de Babylone, y avait laissée, il mit à sa tête Guedalia, fils d’Ahikam, fils de Chafan.
23 And they heard all [the] commanders of the armies they and the men that he had appointed [the] king of Babylon Gedaliah and they came to Gedaliah Mizpah and Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah and Johanan [the] son of Kareah and Seraiah [the] son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite and Jaazaniah [the] son of the Maacathite they and men their.
Lorsque les chefs d’armée et leurs hommes apprirent que Nabuchodonozor avait nommé Ghedalia gouverneur, ils se rendirent auprès de celui-ci à Miçpa, à savoir Ismaël, fils de Netania, Johanan, fils de Karéah, Seraïa, fils de Tanhoumet, de Netofa, et Yaazania, fils du Maakhatite, eux et leurs hommes.
24 And he swore an oath to them Gedaliah and to men their and he said to them may not you be afraid from [the] servants of the Chaldeans dwell in the land and serve [the] king of Babylon so it may go well for you.
Ghedalia leur fit un serment à eux et à leurs hommes en disant: "Ne craignez rien des serviteurs des Chaldéens; demeurez dans le pays, soyez soumis au roi de Babylone, et vous vous en trouverez bien."
25 And it was - in the month seventh he came Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah [the] son of Elishama one of [the] offspring of royalty and ten men with him and they struck down Gedaliah and he died and the Jews and the Chaldeans who they were with him at Mizpah.
Mais le septième mois, Ismaël, fils de Netania, fils d’Elichama, de la race royale, vint accompagné de dix hommes, et ils frappèrent à mort Ghedalia, ainsi que les Judéens et les Chaldéens qui étaient avec lui à Miçpa.
26 And they arose all the people from [the] small and unto [the] great and [the] commanders of the armies and they went Egypt for they were afraid of [the] Chaldeans.
Aussitôt tout le peuple, grands et petits, et les chefs d’armée se mirent en route et entrèrent en Egypte par crainte des Chaldéens.
27 And it was in thirty and seven year of [the] exile of Jehoiachin [the] king of Judah in two [plus] ten month on [day] twenty and seven of the month he lifted up Evil-Merodach [the] king of Babylon in [the] year became king he [the] head of Jehoiachin [the] king of Judah from [the] house of imprisonment.
La trente-septième année de l’exil de Joïachin, roi de Juda, le douzième mois et le vingt-septième jour du mois, Evil-Merodac, roi de Babylone, dans l’année même de son avènement, gracia Joïachin, roi de Juda, et le libéra de la maison de détention.
28 And he spoke with him good and he set throne his above [the] throne of the kings who [were] with him in Babylon.
Il lui parla avec bienveillance et lui donna un siège placé au-dessus du siège des rois qui étaient avec lui à Babylone.
29 And he changed [the] clothes of imprisonment his and he ate bread continually before him all [the] days of life his.
Il lui fit changer ses vêtements de détention et l’admit constamment à sa table, toute sa vie durant.
30 And allowance his an allowance of continuity it was given to him from with the king [the] matter of a day in day its all [the] days of life his.
Son entretien, entretien permanent, lui fut assuré de la part du roi, suivant les besoins de chaque jour, tant qu’il vécut.
