2 Kings 23
1 And he sent the king and they gathered to him all [the] elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
Alors le roi donna commission et réunit vers lui tous les Anciens de Juda et de Jérusalem.
2 And he went up the king [the] house of Yahweh and every person of Judah and all [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem with him and the priests and the prophets and all the people from [the] small and unto [the] great and he read aloud in ears their all [the] words of [the] scroll of the covenant which had been found in [the] house of Yahweh.
Et le roi monta au temple de l'Éternel et avec lui tous les hommes de Juda et tous les habitants de Jérusalem et les Prêtres et les prophètes et toute la population, petits et grands, et il lut à leurs oreilles toutes les paroles du livre de l'alliance trouvé dans le temple de l'Éternel.
3 And he stood the king at the pillar and he made the covenant - before Yahweh to walk after Yahweh and to keep commandments his and testimonies his and statutes his with all heart and with all being to establish [the] words of the covenant this which were written on the scroll this and it took its stand all the people in the covenant.
Et le roi debout sur l'estrade solennisa l'alliance devant l'Éternel, à l'effet de suivre l'Éternel et de garder ses commandements et ses témoignages et ses statuts du cœur tout entier et de l'âme tout entière et d'accomplir les articles de cette alliance, consignés dans le présent livre. Et tout le peuple adhéra à l'alliance.
4 And he commanded the king Hilkiah the priest great and [the] priests of the second rank and [the] keepers of the threshold to bring out from [the] temple of Yahweh all the articles which were made for Baal and for Asherah and for all [the] host of the heavens and he burned them from [the] outside of Jerusalem in [the] fields of Kidron and he carried dust their Beth-el.
Et le roi ordonna au Grand-Prêtre Hilkia et aux Prêtres du second rang et aux portiers de sortir du temple de l'Éternel tous les meubles faits pour Baal et Astarté et toute l'armée des cieux et il les brûla en dehors de Jérusalem dans les champs du Cédron, et en transporta la cendre à Béthel.
5 And he removed the pagan priests whom they had appointed [the] kings of Judah and he made smoke at the high places in [the] cities of Judah and [the] surroundings of Jerusalem and the [ones who] made smoke to Baal to the sun and to the moon and to the constellations and to all [the] host of the heavens.
Et il destitua les prêtres idolâtres qu'avaient établis les rois de Juda, qui offraient de l'encens sur les tertres dans les villes de Juda et aux alentours de Jérusalem, et ceux qui encensaient Baal, le soleil, et la lune et le Zodiaque, et toute l'armée des cieux.
6 And he brought out the Asherah pole from [the] house of Yahweh from [the] outside of Jerusalem to [the] wadi of Kidron and he burned it in [the] wadi of Kidron and he crushed [it] to dust and he threw dust its on [the] burial site of [the] sons of the people.
Et du temple de l'Éternel il transporta l'Astarté hors de Jérusalem vers le torrent du Cédron, et il la brûla dans le ravin du Cédron, et il la réduisit en poudre, et en jeta la poudre sur les tombeaux des fils du peuple.
7 And he broke down [the] houses of the male cult prostitutes which [were] in [the] house of Yahweh where the women [were] weaving there containers for Asherah.
Et il démolit les maisons des garçons infâmes qui étaient dans le temple de l'Éternel où les femmes tissaient des tentes pour Astarté.
8 And he brought all the priests from [the] cities of Judah and he made unclean the high places where they had made smoke there the priests from Geba to Beer Sheba and he broke down [the] high places of the gates which [were at] [the] entrance of [the] gate of Joshua [the] governor of the city which [was] at [the] left [side] of anyone at [the] gate of the city.
Et il fit arriver tous les Prêtres des villes de Juda, et il souilla les tertres où encensaient les prêtres depuis Gèba à Béerséba, et il démolit les tertres des portes, [celui] qui se trouve aux abords de la porte de Josué, préfet de la ville, et [celui] qui était à gauche dans la porte de la ville.
9 Nevertheless not they went up [the] priests of the high places to [the] altar of Yahweh in Jerusalem that except they ate unleavened bread in among brothers their.
Pourtant les prêtres des tertres ne sacrifiaient pas sur l'autel de l'Éternel dans Jérusalem, mais ils mangeaient des azymes parmi leurs frères.
10 And he made unclean Topheth which [was] in [the] valley of (Ben *Q(K)*) Hinnom to not to make pass anyone son his and daughter his in the fire to Molech.
Et il souilla Topheth située dans la vallée des fils de Hinnom, pour que personne ne fit plus passer son fils et sa fille par le feu à Moloch.
11 And he removed the horses which they had dedicated [the] kings of Judah to the sun from [the] going of [the] house of Yahweh to [the] room of Nathan Melech the court-official which [was] in the Parbar and [the] chariots of the sun he burned with fire.
Et il se défit des chevaux que les rois de Juda avaient dédiés au soleil près du temple de l'Éternel vers le logis de Nethanmelech, l'eunuque, lequel est dans le portique ouvert, et il brûla au feu les chars du soleil.
12 And the altars which [were] on the roof of [the] upper room of Ahaz which they had made - [the] kings of Judah and the altars which he had made Manasseh in [the] two [the] courtyards of [the] house of Yahweh he pulled down the king and he ran from there and he threw dust their into [the] wadi of Kidron.
Et le roi démolit les autels qui étaient sur la terrasse de l'appartement supérieur d'Achaz qu'avaient bâtis les rois de Juda, et les autels qu'avait bâtis Manassé dans les deux parvis de la Maison de l'Éternel, et il s'éloigna de là en hâte, et en jeta la poussière dans le torrent du Cédron.
13 And the high places which - [were] on [the] face of Jerusalem which [were] from [the] south of [the] mountain of destruction which he had built Solomon [the] king of Israel to Astarte - [the] detestable thing of [the] Sidonians and to Chemosh [the] detestable thing of Moab and to Milcom [the] abomination of [the] people of Ammon he made unclean the king.
Et les tertres qui étaient devant Jérusalem à droite du Mont de la perdition, que Salomon, roi d'Israël, avait élevés à Astarté, l'odieuse idole des Sidoniens, et à Camos, l'odieuse idole de Moab, et à Milcom, l'abominable divinité des fils d'Ammon, le roi les souilla.
14 And he broke the sacred pillars and he cut down the Asherah poles and he filled place their bones of humankind.
Et il brisa les colonnes, extirpa les Aschères et remplit leur emplacement d'ossements humains.
15 And also the altar which [was] at Beth-el the high place which he had made Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat who he caused to sin Israel also the altar that and the high place he tore down and he burned the high place he crushed [it] to dust and he burned [the] Asherah pole.
Et de même l'autel qui était à Béthel, le tertre élevé par Jéroboam, fils de Nebat, qui avait entraîné Israël à pécher, cet autel-là aussi et le tertre il les démolit et il brûla le tertre et le réduisit en poudre, et il brûla l'Astarté.
16 And he turned Josiah and he saw the graves which [were] there on the mountain and he sent and he took the bones from the graves and he burned [them] on the altar and he made unclean it according to [the] word of Yahweh which he had proclaimed [the] man of God who he proclaimed the words these.
Et en se tournant, Josias aperçut les tombeaux qui étaient là sur la montagne; puis il envoya enlever les ossements des tombeaux, et il les brûla sur l'autel qu'il souilla, selon la parole de l'Éternel prononcée par l'homme de Dieu qui proclama ces choses.
17 And he said what? [is] the monument this which I [am] seeing and they said to him [the] people of the city the grave of [the] man of God who he came from Judah and he proclaimed the things these which you have done on the altar of Beth-el.
Et il dit: Qu'est-ce que ce cippe que j'aperçois? Et les gens de la ville lui dirent: C'est le tombeau de l'homme de Dieu, qui est venu de Juda, et a proclamé ces choses que tu as exécutées sur l'autel de Béthel.
18 And he said leave alone him anyone may not he disturb bones his and they left undisturbed bones his [the] bones of the prophet who he had come from Samaria.
Et il dit: Laissez-le en repos! que nul ne touche à ses os! ils sauvèrent donc ces os ainsi que les os du prophète venu de la Samarie.
19 And also all [the] houses of the high places which - [were] in [the] cities of Samaria which they had made [the] kings of Israel to provoke anger he removed Josiah and he did to them according to all the deeds which he had done at Beth-el.
Et de même tous les temples des tertres dans les villes de la Samarie, qu'avaient élevés les rois d'Israël en provocation, Josias les fit disparaître et les traita tout comme il avait procédé à Béthel.
20 And he slaughtered all [the] priests of the high places who [were] there on the altars and he burned bones of humankind on them and he returned Jerusalem.
Et il immola tous les prêtres des tertres qui étaient présents, sur les autels, sur lesquels il brûla des ossements humains. Là-dessus il regagna Jérusalem.
21 And he commanded the king all the people saying observe a passover to Yahweh God your according to [what] is written on [the] scroll of the covenant this.
Et le roi donna un ordre à tout le peuple en ces termes: Faites une Pâque à l'Éternel, votre Dieu, aux termes de ce qui est écrit dans le présent livre de l'alliance.
22 For not it had been observed like the passover this since [the] days of the judges who they judged Israel and all [the] days of [the] kings of Israel and [the] kings of Judah.
Car pareille Pâque n'avait pas été célébrée depuis l'époque des Juges qui jugeaient Israël et durant toute la période des rois d'Israël et des rois de Juda.
23 That except in eight-teen year of the king Josiah it was observed the passover this to Yahweh in Jerusalem.
Mais la dix-huitième année du roi Josias cette Pâque fut célébrée en l'honneur de l'Éternel à Jérusalem.
24 And also the necromancers and the soothsayers and the teraphim and the idols and all the detestable things which they were seen in [the] land of Judah and in Jerusalem he removed Josiah so as to carry out [the] words of the law which were written on the scroll which he had found Hilkiah the priest [the] house of Yahweh.
Et Josias fit aussi disparaître les évocateurs et les pronostiqueurs et les Théraphim et les idoles et les horribles simulacres qui se voyaient dans le pays de Juda et dans Jérusalem, afin de mettre à effet les paroles de la Loi consignées dans le volume trouvé par le prêtre Hilkia au temple de l'Éternel.
25 And like him not he had been before him a king who he turned back to Yahweh with all heart his and with all being his and with all strength his according to all [the] law of Moses and after him not he arose like him.
Avant lui il n'y avait pas eu de roi pareil à lui, qui fût revenu à l'Éternel de tout son cœur et de toute son âme et de toute son énergie conformément à la totalité de la Loi de Moïse, et après lui il n'en parut point de pareil.
26 Nevertheless - not he turned back Yahweh from [the] burning of anger his great which it burned anger his on Judah on all the provocations which he had provoked to anger him Manasseh.
Néanmoins l'Éternel ne revint pas de sa grande et ardente colère dont Il était enflammé contre Juda à cause de toutes les provocations dont Manassé l'avait provoqué.
27 And he said Yahweh also Judah I will remove from on face my just as I removed Israel and I will reject the city this which I chose Jerusalem and the house which I said it will be name my there.
Et l'Éternel dit: Même Juda, je le bannirai de ma présence ainsi que j'en ai banni Israël, et je répudie cette ville que j'avais choisie, Jérusalem, et le temple duquel j'ai dit: Mon Nom y résidera.
28 And [the] rest of [the] matters of Josiah and all that he did ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.
Le reste des actes de Josias, et toutes ses entreprises, sont d'ailleurs consignés dans le livre des annales des rois de Juda.
29 In days his he went up Pharaoh Necho [the] king of Egypt on [the] king of Assyria to [the] river of Euphrates and he went the king Josiah to meet him and he killed him at Megiddo when saw he him.
De son temps Pharaon Nécho, roi d'Egypte, s'avança contre le roi d'Assyrie sur le fleuve de l'Euphrate, et le roi Josias se porta à sa rencontre, et reçut de lui la mort à Megiddo, dès qu'il fut en vue de lui.
30 And they made ride him servants his dead from Megiddo and they brought him Jerusalem and they buried him in own grave his and it took [the] people of the land Jehoahaz [the] son of Josiah and they anointed him and they made king him in place of father his.
Et ses serviteurs sur un char l'emmenèrent mort de Megiddo et le conduisirent à Jérusalem et lui donnèrent la sépulture dans son tombeau. Et le peuple du pays prit Joachaz, fils de Josias, et ils l'oignirent et le firent roi en la place de son père.
31 [was] a son of Twenty and three year[s] Jehoahaz when became king he and three months he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Hamutal [the] daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah.
Joachaz avait vingt-trois ans à son avènement et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem. Or, le nom de sa mère était Hamutal, fille de Jérémie de Libna.
32 And he did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh according to all that they had done ancestors his.
Et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel en tout comme ses pères avaient fait.
33 And he confined him Pharaoh Necho at Riblah in [the] land of Hamath (from reigning *Q(K)*) in Jerusalem and he put a fine on the land one hundred talent[s] of silver and a talent of gold.
Et Pharaon Nécho l'enchaîna à Ribla dans la contrée de Hamath pour qu'il ne régnât plus à Jérusalem, et il imposa le pays d'une amende de cent talents d'argent et d'un talent d'or.
34 And he made king Pharaoh Necho Eliakim [the] son of Josiah in place of Josiah father his and he changed name his Jehoiakim and Jehoahaz he took and he came Egypt and he died there.
Et Pharaon Nécho fit roi Eliakim, fils de Josias, en la place de Josias, son père, et changea son nom en celui de Jojakim; quant à Joachaz, il le fit prisonnier; et Joachaz vint en Egypte, et il y mourut.
35 And the silver and the gold he gave Jehoiakim to Pharaoh only he taxed the land to give the silver on [the] mouth of Pharaoh each according to valuation his he exacted the silver and the gold [the] people of the land to give [it] to Pharaoh Necho.
Et Jojakim donna à Pharaon l'argent et l'or; mais il taxa le pays pour payer l'argent exigé par Pharaon, et par une contribution forcée il leva sur le peuple du pays, sur chacun selon son estimation, l'argent a délivrer à Pharaon Nécho.
36 [was] a son of Twenty and five year[s] Jehoiakim when became king he and one [plus] ten year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his ([was] Zebudah *Q(K)*) [the] daughter of Pedaiah from Rumah.
Jojakim avait vingt-cinq ans à son avènement et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem. Or le nom de sa mère était Zébida, fille de Pedaïa de Ruma.
37 And he did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh according to all that they had done ancestors his.
Et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel en tout point comme avaient fait ses pères.
