< 2 Kings 16 >

1 In year seven-teen year of Pekah [the] son of Remaliah he became king Ahaz [the] son of Jotham [the] king of Judah.
2 [was] a son of Twenty year[s] Ahaz when became king he and six-teen year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and not he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh God his like David ancestor his.
3 And he walked in [the] way of [the] kings of Israel and also son his he made pass in the fire according to [the] abominations of the nations which he had dispossessed Yahweh them from before [the] people of Israel.
4 And he sacrificed and he made smoke at the high places and on the hills and under every tree luxuriant.
A i patu whakahere ia, i tahu whakakakara ki nga wahi tiketike, ki nga pukepuke, ki raro i nga rakau kouru nui.
5 Then he came up Rezin [the] king of Aram and Pekah [the] son of Remaliah [the] king of Israel Jerusalem for battle and they laid siege on Ahaz and not they were able to do battle.
Katahi ka haere mai a Retini kingi o Hiria raua ko Peka tama a Remaria kingi o Iharaira ki Hiruharama, whawhai ai. Na whakapaea ana a Ahata e raua, otiia kihai i hinga i a raua.
6 At the time that he restored Rezin [the] king of Aram Elath to Aram and he cleared out the Jews from Elath (and Edomites *Q(K)*) they came Elath and they have dwelt there until the day this.
I taua wa ka whakahokia e Retini kingi o Hiria a Erata ki Hiria, a peia ana nga Hurai i Erata: na haere mai ana nga Hiriani ki Erata, a nohoia ana a reira a taea noatia tenei ra.
7 And he sent Ahaz messengers to Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria saying [am] servant your and son your I come up and deliver me from [the] hand of [the] king of Aram and from [the] hand of [the] king of Israel who are rising up on me.
Heoi tukua ana e Ahata he karere ki a Tikirata Pirehere kingi o Ahiria hei ki atu, He pononga ahau nau, he tama hoki; haere mai, whakaorangia ahau i te ringa o te kingi o Hiria, i te ringa ano o te kingi o Iharaira, kua whakatika mai nei ki ahau.
8 And he took Ahaz the silver and the gold which was found [the] house of Yahweh and in [the] treasuries of [the] house of the king and he sent [it] to [the] king of Assyria a gift.
9 And he listened to him [the] king of Assyria and he came up [the] king of Assyria to Damascus and he seized it and he took into exile it Kir towards and Rezin he put to death.
10 And he went the king Ahaz to meet Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria Damascus and he saw the altar which [was] in Damascus and he sent the king Ahaz to Uriah the priest [the] likeness of the altar and pattern its for all work its.
11 And he built Uriah the priest the altar according to all that he had sent the king Ahaz from Damascus so he did Uriah the priest until came the king Ahaz from Damascus.
Na ka hanga e te tohunga, e Uria, he aata: rite tonu ki nga mea katoa i tukua mai nei e Kingi Ahata i Ramahiku ta te tohunga, ta Uria i mahi ai, mo te tae rawa mai o Kingi Ahata i Ramahiku.
12 And he came the king from Damascus and he saw the king the altar and he drew near the king to the altar and he offered up on it.
13 And he made smoke burnt offering his and grain offering his and he poured out drink offering his and he sprinkled [the] blood of the peace offerings which [belonged] to him on the altar.
14 And the altar of bronze which [was] before Yahweh and he brought near from with [the] face of the house from between the altar and from between [the] house of Yahweh and he put it on [the] side of the altar north-ward.
15 (And he commanded *Q(K)*) the king Ahaz Uriah the priest saying on the altar great make smoke [the] burnt offering of the morning and [the] grain offering of the evening and [the] burnt offering of the king and grain offering his and [the] burnt offering of all [the] people of the land and grain offering their and drink offerings their and all [the] blood of [the] burnt offering and all [the] blood of [the] sacrifice on it you will sprinkle and [the] altar of bronze it will belong to me to consult.
16 And he did Uriah the priest according to all that he commanded the king Ahaz.
Na rite tonu ta Uria tohunga i mea ai ki nga mea katoa i whakahaua e Kingi Ahata.
17 And he cut off the king Ahaz the rims of the stands and he removed from on them (*Q(K)*) the laver and the sea he took down from on the ox[en] the bronze which [were] under it and he put it on a pavement of stone.
I tapahia hoki e Kingi Ahata nga awhi o nga turanga, tangohia ana e ia te takotoranga wai o runga o aua mea; i tangohia ano e ia te moana i runga i nga kau parahi, i era i raro i taua moana, a whakatakotoria ana ki runga ki te whariki kohatu;
18 And ([the] covered structure of *Q(K)*) the sabbath which people had built in the house and [the] entrance of the king outer he removed [the] house of Yahweh because of [the] king of Assyria.
19 And [the] rest of [the] matters of Ahaz which he did ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.
20 And he lay down Ahaz with ancestors his and he was buried with ancestors his in [the] city of David and he became king Hezekiah son his in place of him.
Na ka moe a Ahata ki ona matua, a tanumia iho ki ona matua, ki te pa o Rawiri: a ko Hetekia, ko tana tama, te kingi i muri i a ia.
