2 Kings 12
1 In year seven of Jehu he became king Jehoash and forty year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Zibiah from Beer Sheba.
En la septième année de Jéhu, régna Joas; et pendant quarante ans il régna dans Jérusalem: le nom de sa mère était Sébia de Bersabée.
2 And he did Jehoash the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh all days his which he instructed him Jehoiada the priest.
Or Joas fit ce qui était droit devant le Seigneur, pendant tous les jours que l’instruisit Joïada, le prêtre.
3 Only the high places not they were removed still the people [were] sacrificing and [were] making smoke at the high places.
Cependant il n’abolit pas les hauts lieux; car le peuple sacrifiait encore et brûlait de l’encens sur les hauts lieux.
4 And he said Jehoash to the priests all [the] money of the holy gifts which it will be brought [the] house of Yahweh money passing along everyone [the] money of persons of valuation his all [the] money which it will come up on [the] heart of a person to bring [the] house of Yahweh.
Et Joas dit aux prêtres: Quant à tout l’argent des choses saintes qui sera apporté dans le temple du Seigneur, par les passants, qui est offert pour prix d’une âme, et qu’ils portent spontanément, et au gré de leur cœur dans le temple du Seigneur,
5 Let them take themselves the priests each from with acquaintance his and they they will repair [the] damage of the house to every where it will be found there damage.
Que les prêtres le prennent, chacun selon son rang, et qu’ils réparent la maison du Seigneur, s’ils voient quelque chose qui ait besoin de réparation.
6 And it was in year twenty and three year of the king Jehoash not they had repaired the priests [the] damage of the house.
Mais jusqu’à la vingt-troisième année du roi Joas, les prêtres n’avaient point fait les réparations du temple.
7 And he summoned the king Jehoash Jehoiada the priest and the priests and he said to them why? [are] not you repairing [the] damage of the house and now may not you take money from with acquaintances your for for [the] damage of the house you will give it.
Le roi Joas appela donc Joïada le pontife, et les prêtres, leur disant: Pourquoi ne faites-vous point les réparations du temple? Ne recevez donc plus d’argent selon votre rang; mais rendez-le pour les réparations de la maison du Seigneur.
8 And they agreed the priests to not to take money from with the people and to not to repair [the] damage of the house.
Et il fut défendu aux prêtres de recevoir à l’avenir de l’argent du peuple et de réparer la maison du Seigneur.
9 And he took Jehoiada the priest a chest one and he bored a hole in lid its and he put it beside the altar (from [the] right [side] *Q(K)*) when comes anyone [the] house of Yahweh and they put there the priests [who] kept of the threshold all the money which was brought [the] house of Yahweh.
Et Joïada, grand prêtre, prit un coffre, et y fit une ouverture par-dessus, et il le plaça près de l’autel, à la droite de ceux qui entraient dans la maison du Seigneur; et les prêtres qui gardaient les portes, y déposaient tout l’argent qui était apporté au temple du Seigneur.
10 And it was when saw they that much the money [was] in the chest and he came up [the] scribe of the king and the priest great and they tied up and they counted the money which was found [the] house of Yahweh.
Lorsqu’ils voyaient qu’il y avait trop d’argent dans le tronc, le scribe du roi montait et le pontife, et ils versaient et comptaient l’argent qui était trouvé dans la maison du Seigneur;
11 And they put the money weighed out on ([the] hands of *Q(K)*) [the] doers of the work (who were appointed *Q(K)*) [the] house of Yahweh and they brought out it to [the] craftsmen of wood and to the builders who were working on [the] house of Yahweh.
Et ils le déposaient, en le comptant et en le mesurant, dans la main de ceux qui étaient à la tête des maçons de la maison du Seigneur, et qui l’employaient pour les charpentiers, pour ces mêmes maçons qui travaillaient dans la maison du Seigneur,
12 And to the masons and to [the] cutters of stone and to acquire wood and stones of hewing to repair [the] damage of [the] house of Yahweh and for all that it went out on the house to repair [it].
Et faisaient les réparations, et pour ceux qui taillaient les pierres; et pour acheter du bois et des pierres qu’on taillait, de manière à achever la restauration de la maison du Seigneur, en tout ce qui exigeait des dépenses pour rétablir cette maison.
13 Only not it was made [the] house of Yahweh basins of silver snuffers bowls trumpets any article of gold and article of silver from the money which was brought [the] house of Yahweh.
Cependant on ne faisait point avec cet argent les cruches du temple du Seigneur, des fourchettes, des encensoirs, des trompettes, ni aucun vase d’or et d’argent, avec l’argent qui était apporté au temple du Seigneur;
14 For to [the] doers of the work they gave it and they repaired with it [the] house of Yahweh.
Car c’est à ceux qui faisaient le travail, qu’il était donné, afin que le temple du Seigneur fut restauré.
15 And not they settled accounts with the men whom they put the money on hand their to give to [the] doers of the work for in faithfulness they [were] working.
Et l’on n’en demandait point compte aux hommes qui le recevaient pour le distribuer aux ouvriers; mais ils l’employaient de bonne foi.
16 Money of guilt offering and money of sin offerings not it was brought [the] house of Yahweh to the priests they belonged.
Quant à l’argent donné pour un délit, et à l’argent donné pour des péchés, on ne le portait point dans le temple du Seigneur, parce qu’il appartenait aux prêtres.
17 Then he went up Hazael [the] king of Aram and he fought on Gath and he captured it and he set Hazael face his to go up on Jerusalem.
Alors Hazaël, roi de Syrie, monta, et il combattit contre Geth, et il la prit, et il tourna sa face pour monter vers Jérusalem.
18 And he took Jehoash [the] king of Judah all the holy things which they had consecrated Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah ancestors his [the] kings of Judah and own holy things his and all the gold which was found in [the] treasuries of [the] house of Yahweh and [the] house of the king and he sent [them] to Hazael [the] king of Aram and he went up from on Jerusalem.
C’est pourquoi Joas, roi de Juda, prit toutes les choses sanctifiées, qu’avaient consacrées au Seigneur Josaphat, Joram et Ochozias, ses pères, rois de Juda, et que lui-même avait offertes, et tout l’argent qui put être trouvé dans les trésors du temple du Seigneur et dans le palais du roi; et il l’envoya à Hazaël, roi de Syrie, et Hazaël se retira de Jérusalem.
19 And [the] rest of [the] matters of Joash and all that he did ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.
Mais le reste des actions de Joas, et tout ce qu’il a fait, n’est-ce pas écrit dans le Livre des actions des jours des rois de Juda?
20 And they arose servants his and they conspired a conspiracy and they struck down Joash Beth-Millo which goes down Silla.
Or ses serviteurs se levèrent, et conspirèrent entre eux; et ils frappèrent Joas en sa maison de Mello, à la descente de Sella.
21 And Jozabad [the] son of Shimeath and Jehozabad [the] son of Shomer - servants his they struck down him and he died and people buried him with ancestors his in [the] city of David and he became king Amaziah son his in place of him.
Josachar fils de Sémaath, et Jozabad, fils de Somer, ses serviteurs, le frappèrent, et il mourut; et on l’ensevelit avec ses pères dans la cité de David, et Amasias, son fils, régna en sa place.
