2 Chronicles 8
1 And it was from [the] end of - twenty year[s] which he built Solomon [the] house of Yahweh and own house his.
Au bout de vingt ans, quand Salomon eut bâti la maison de Yahweh et sa propre maison,
2 And the cities which he had given Huram to Solomon he rebuilt Solomon them and he caused to dwell there [the] people of Israel.
il reconstruisit les villes que lui avait données Hiram, et y établit des enfants d’Israël.
3 And he went Solomon to Hamath Zobah and he prevailed over it.
Salomon marcha contre Emath-Soba, et s’en empara.
4 And he built Tadmor in the wilderness and all [the] cities of storage which he built in Hamath.
Il bâtit Thadmor dans le désert et toutes les villes servant de magasins qu’il bâtit dans le pays d’ Emath.
5 And he built Beth Horon upper and Beth Horon lower cities of fortification walls doors and bar[s].
Il bâtit Béthoron la haute et Béthoron la basse, villes fortes, ayant des murs, des portes et des barres;
6 And Baalath and all [the] cities of storage which they belonged to Solomon and all [the] cities of chariotry and [the] cities of the horsemen and - all [the] desire of Solomon which he desired to build in Jerusalem and in Lebanon and in all [the] land of dominion his.
Baalath, et toutes les villes servant de magasins qui appartenaient à Salomon, toutes les villes pour les chars, les villes pour la cavalerie, et tout ce qu’il plut à Salomon de bâtir à Jérusalem, au Liban et dans tout le pays soumis à sa domination.
7 All the people which remained of the Hittite[s] and the Amorite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s] which not [were] from Israel they.
Tout le peuple, qui était resté des Héthéens, des Amorrhéens, des Phérézéens, des Hévéens et des Jébuséens, ne faisant point partie d’Israël,
8 Some of descendants their who they remained after them in the land whom not they had destroyed them [the] people of Israel and he brought up them Solomon to forced labor until the day this.
savoir, leurs descendants, qui étaient restés après eux dans le pays et que n’avaient pas détruits les enfants d’Israël, Salomon les leva comme gens de corvée, ce qu’ils ont été jusqu’à ce jour.
9 And of [the] people of Israel whom not he made Solomon into slaves for work his for they [were] men of war and [the] commanders of officers his and [the] commanders of chariotry his and horsemen his.
Mais Salomon ne fit esclave pour ses travaux aucun des enfants d’Israël, car ils étaient des hommes de guerre, les chefs de ses officiers, les commandants de ses chars et de sa cavalerie.
10 And these [were] [the] commanders of (the overseers *Q(K)*) who [belonged] to the king Solomon fifty and two hundred who ruled over the people.
Les chefs des inspecteurs du roi Salomon étaient au nombre de deux cent cinquante, chargés de commander au peuple.
11 And [the] daughter of Pharaoh he brought up Solomon from [the] city of David to the house which he had built for her for he said not she will dwell a wife of me in [the] house of David [the] king of Israel for [are] holiness they [places] where it has come to them [the] ark of Yahweh.
Salomon fit monter la fille de Pharaon de la cité de David dans la maison qu’il lui avait bâtie; car il dit: « Ma femme n’habitera pas dans la maison de David, roi d’Israël, parce que ces lieux sont saints, dans lesquels est entrée l’arche de Dieu. »
12 Then he offered up Solomon burnt offerings to Yahweh on [the] altar of Yahweh which he had built before the porch.
Alors Salomon offrit à Yahweh des holocaustes sur l’autel de Yahweh, qu’il avait construit devant le portique,
13 And a matter of a day in a day to offer up according to [the] commandment of Moses for the sabbaths and for the new moons and for the appointed times three times in the year at [the] festival of the unleavened bread and at [the] festival of the weeks and at [the] festival of booths.
offrant chaque jour ce qui était prescrit par Moïse, ainsi qu’aux sabbats, aux nouvelles lunes et aux fêtes, trois fois l’année, à la fête des azymes, à la fête des semaines et à la fête des tabernacles.
14 And he appointed according to [the] ordinance of David father his [the] divisions of the priests on service their and the Levites on duties their to praise and to serve before the priests to [the] matter of a day in day its and the gatekeepers by divisions their for a gate and a gate for [was] thus [the] commandment of David [the] man of God.
Il établit, selon que l’avait réglé David, son père, les classes des prêtres dans leur service, les lévites dans leurs fonctions pour célébrer Yahweh et faire le service devant les prêtres selon l’ordre de chaque jour, et les portiers selon leurs classes, pour chaque porte; car ainsi l’avait ordonné David, homme de Dieu.
15 And not they turned aside [the] command of the king on the priests and the Levites to any matter and to the treasuries.
On ne s’écarta pas des prescriptions du roi au sujet des prêtres et des lévites, quel qu’en fût l’objet, et spécialement en ce qui concernait les trésors.
16 And it was arranged all [the] work of Solomon until the day of [the] foundation of [the] house of Yahweh and until was complete it [was] complete [the] house of Yahweh.
Ainsi fut préparée toute l’œuvre de Salomon, jusqu’au jour de la fondation de la maison de Yahweh et jusqu’à son achèvement. La maison de Yahweh fut achevée.
17 Then he went Solomon to Ezion Geber and to Elath on [the] shore of the sea in [the] land of Edom.
Salomon partit alors pour Asiongaber et pour Ailath, sur les bords de la mer, dans le pays d’Edom.
18 And he sent to him Huram by [the] hand of servants his (ships *Q(k)*) and servants [who] knew [the] sea and they went with [the] servants of Solomon Ophir towards and they took from there four hundred and fifty talent[s] of gold and they brought [it] to the king Solomon.
Et Hiram lui envoya par ses serviteurs des vaisseaux et des serviteurs connaissant la mer. Ils allèrent avec les serviteurs de Salomon à Ophir, et ils y prirent quatre cent cinquante talents d’or, qu’ils apportèrent au roi Salomon.
