< 2 Chronicles 34 >

1 [was] a son of Eight years Josiah when became king he and thirty and one year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem.

2 And he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he walked in [the] ways of David ancestor his and not he turned aside right and left.
Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻaia naʻe lelei ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, pea ʻalu ʻi he ngaahi hala ʻo Tevita ko ʻene tamai, pea naʻe ʻikai afe ia ki he nima toʻomataʻu pe ki he toʻohema.
3 And in eight years of reigning his and he still he [was] a youth he began to seek [the] God of David ancestor his and in two [plus] ten year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem from the high places and the Asherah poles and the idols and the molten images.
He koeʻuhi ʻi hono valu taʻu ʻo ʻene pule, ʻi heʻene kei siʻi, naʻa ne kamata kumi ki he ʻOtua ʻo Tevita ko ʻene tamai: pea ʻi hono hongofulu ma ua taʻu, naʻa ne kamata ʻene ʻauhani ʻa Siuta mo Selūsalema mei he ngaahi potu māʻolunga, mo e ngaahi vao tapu, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakatātā naʻe tā, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakatātā naʻe haka.
4 And people pulled down before him [the] altars of the Baals and the incense altars which [were] upwards above them he cut down and the Asherah poles and the idols and the molten images he broke in pieces and he pulverized [them] and he sprinkled [them] on [the] surface of the graves who sacrificed to them.
Pea naʻa nau holoki hifo ʻae ngaahi meʻa fakatātā ʻa Peali, ʻi hono ʻao: pea mo e ngaahi meʻa fakatātā naʻe māʻolunga ʻi ai, naʻa ne tā hifo ia: pea naʻa ne tā ke fakaikiiki ʻae ngaahi vao tapu, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakatātā naʻe tā, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakatātā naʻe haka, naʻa ne laiki ia ke efu, pea ne lulu ia ki he ngaahi tanuʻanga ʻokinautolu naʻa nau feilaulau ki ai.
5 And [the] bones of priests he burned on (altars their *Q(K)*) and he cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.
Pea naʻe tutu ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi hui ʻoe kau taula ki honau ngaahi feilaulauʻanga, ʻo ne fakamaʻa ʻa Siuta mo Selūsalema.
6 And in [the] cities of Manasseh and Ephraim and Simeon and to Naphtali (in [the] hill country of with swords their *Q(K)*) all around.
Pea [naʻe fai pehē pe ia ]ʻi he ngaahi kolo ʻo Manase, mo ʻIfalemi, mo Simione, ʻio, ʻo aʻu ki Nafitalai, ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi toki ʻi he ngaahi potu ʻi ai.
7 And he pulled down the altars and the Asherah poles and the idols he crushed to pulverize and all the incense altars he cut down in all [the] land of Israel and he returned to Jerusalem.
Pea hili ʻene fesiʻi hifo ʻae ngaahi feilaulauʻanga mo e ngaahi vao tapu, ʻo ne tuki ke efu ʻae ngaahi meʻa fakatātā, ʻo ne tā hifo ʻae ngaahi tamapua kotoa pē ʻi he fonua kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli, naʻe toki liliu mai ia ki Selūsalema.
8 And in year eight-teen of reigning his to cleanse the land and the house he sent Shaphan [the] son Azaliah and Maaseiah [the] official of the city and Joah [the] son of Joahaz the recorder to repair [the] house of Yahweh God his.
Pea ʻi hono hongofulu ma valu talu ʻo ʻene pule, hili ʻene ʻauhani ʻae fonua, mo e fale, naʻe fekau ʻe ia ʻa Safani ko e foha ko ʻAsalia, mo Māseia ko e pule ʻoe kolo, mo Soa ko e foha ʻo Soasi, ko e tangata tohi, ke nau ngaohi ke lelei ʻae fale ʻo Sihova.
9 And they went to Hilkiah - the priest great and they gave the money which had been brought [the] house of God which they had gathered the Levites [the] keepers of the threshold from [the] hand of Manasseh and Ephraim and from all [the] remnant of Israel and from all Judah and Benjamin (and they returned of *Q(K)*) Jerusalem.
Pea ʻi heʻenau haʻu kia Hilikia ko e taulaʻeiki lahi, naʻa nau ʻatu ʻae ngaahi paʻanga ʻaia naʻe ʻomi ki he fale ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻe tānaki ʻe he kau Livai naʻe leʻohi ʻae ngaahi matapā mei he nima ʻo Manase mo ʻIfalemi, pea mei he kakai toe kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli, pea ʻi Siuta kotoa pē mo Penisimani; pea naʻa nau liu mai ki Selūsalema.
10 And they gave [it] on [the] hand of [the] doer of the work who were appointed in [the] house of Yahweh and they gave it [the] doers of the work who [were] working in [the] house of Yahweh to mend and to repair the house.
Pea naʻa nau tuku ia ki he nima ʻoe kau tangata ngāue ʻaia naʻe tauhi ʻae fale ʻo Sihova, pea naʻa nau ʻatu ia ki he kau tangata ngāue naʻe fai ʻae ngāue ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova, ke toe ngaohi mo fakalelei ʻae fale:
11 And they gave [it] to the craftsmen and to the builders to buy stones of hewing and wood for the clamps and to make beams for the houses which they had ruined [the] kings of Judah.
‌ʻIo, naʻa nau ʻatu ia ki he kau tufunga mo e kau langa fale, ke fakatauʻaki ʻae ngaahi maka kuo tā, mo e ʻakau maʻae ngaahi hokoʻanga alanga, pea ki he faliki ʻoe ngaahi fale ʻaia naʻe maumauʻi ʻe he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta.
12 And the men [were] working in faithfulness in the work and over them - [were] appointed Jahath and Obadiah the Levites of [the] descendants of Merari and Zechariah and Meshullam of [the] descendants of the Kohathites to act as overseers and the Levites every [one who] was skilled in instruments of song.

13 [were] over The burden-bearers and [were] acting as overseers of every doer of work for labor and labor and some of the Levites [were] scribes and officials and gatekeepers.
Pea naʻa nau pule foki ki he kau [tangata ]haʻamo kavenga, pea ko e kau enginaki ʻakinautolu kiate kinautolu kotoa pē naʻe ngāue ʻi he ngāue kotoa pē: pea naʻe ʻi he kau Livai, ʻae kau tangata tohi, mo e kau matāpule, mo e kau leʻo matapā.
14 And when brought out they the money which had been brought [the] house of Yahweh he found Hilkiah the priest [the] scroll of [the] law of Yahweh by [the] hand of Moses.
Pea ʻi heʻenau ʻomi kituaʻā ʻae ngaahi paʻanga ʻaia naʻe ʻomi ki he fale ʻo Sihova, naʻe ʻilo ʻe Hilikia ko e taulaʻeiki ha tohi ʻoe fono ʻa Sihova naʻe tuku ʻe Mōsese.
15 And he answered Hilkiah and he said to Shaphan the scribe [the] scroll of the law I have found in [the] house of Yahweh and he gave Hilkiah the scroll to Shaphan.
Pea naʻe lea ʻa Hilikia ʻo pehē kia Safani ko e tangata tohi, “Kuo u ʻilo ʻae tohi ʻoe fono ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova.” Pea naʻe ʻatu ʻe Hilikia ʻae tohi kia Safani.
16 And he brought Shaphan the scroll to the king and he brought back again the king a word saying all that it was given in [the] hand of servants your they [are] doing.
Pea naʻe ʻave ʻae tohi ʻe Safani ki he tuʻi, ʻo ne ʻomi ʻae lea ki he tuʻi, ʻo pehē, “Ko ia kotoa pē naʻe fekau ki hoʻo kau tamaioʻeiki kuo nau fai.
17 And they have poured out the money which was found in [the] house of Yahweh and they have put it on [the] hand of those [who] were appointed and on [the] hand of [the] doers of the work.
Pea kuo nau tānaki fakataha ʻae paʻanga kotoa pē naʻe ʻilo ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova, pea kuo tuku ia ki he nima ʻoe kau enginaki ngāue, pea ki he nima ʻoe kau tangata ngāue.”
18 And he told Shaphan the scribe to the king saying a scroll he has given to me Hilkiah the priest and he read aloud in it Shaphan before the king.
Pea naʻe tala ʻe Safani ko e tangata tohi ki he tuʻi ʻo pehē, “Kuo tuku mai ʻe Hilikia ko e taulaʻeiki ha tohi.” Pea naʻe lau ia ʻe Safani ki he tuʻi.
19 And it was when heard the king [the] words of the law and he tore clothes his.
Pea ʻi he ongoʻi ʻe he tuʻi ʻae ngaahi lea ʻae fono, naʻa ne haehae hono ngaahi kofu.
20 And he commanded the king Hilkiah and Ahikam [the] son of Shaphan and Abdon [the] son of Micah and - Shaphan the scribe and Asaiah [the] servant of the king saying.
Pea naʻe fekau ʻe he tuʻi kia Hilikia, mo ʻAhikami ko e foha ʻo Safani, mo ʻApitoni ko e foha ʻo Maika, mo Safani ko e tangata tohi, mo ʻAsahia ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻae tuʻi ʻo pehē,
21 Go consult Yahweh for me and for the remnant among Israel and among Judah on [the] words of the scroll which it has been found for [is] great [the] anger of Yahweh which it has been poured out on us on that not they took care ancestors our [the] word of Yahweh to observe according to every [thing] written on the scroll this.
“Mou ʻalu, pea fehuʻi kia Sihova koeʻuhi ko au, pea maʻanautolu ʻoku toe ʻi ʻIsileli mo Siuta, ki he ngaahi lea ʻi he tohi kuo ʻilo: he kuo lahi ʻae houhau ʻa Sihova ʻaia kuo lingi kiate kitautolu, ko e meʻa ʻi he ʻikai tauhi ʻe heʻetau ngaahi tamai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova, ke fai ʻo fakatatau ki he meʻa kotoa pē kuo tohi ʻi he tohi.”
22 And he went Hilkiah and [those] whom the king to Huldah the prophetess [the] wife of - Shallum [the] son of (Tokhath *Q(K)*) [the] son of Hasrah [the] keeper of the garments and she [was] dwelling in Jerusalem in the second district and they spoke to her like this.
Pea naʻe ʻalu ʻa Hilikia, mo kinautolu naʻe tuʻutuʻuni ʻe he tuʻi, kia Hulita ko e fefine palōfita ko e uaifi ʻo Salumi ko e foha ʻo Tikiva, ko e foha ʻo Hahasi, ko e tauhi ʻoe ngaahi kofu: (pea naʻe nofo ia ʻi Selūsalema ʻi he fale ako: ) pea nau lea pehē pe kiate ia.
23 And she said to them thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel say to the man who he sent you to me.
Pea naʻe lea ia kiate kinautolu, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli, “Mou tala ki he tangata naʻa ne fekau ʻakimoutolu kiate au,
24 Thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to bring harm on the place this and on inhabitants its all the curses which are written on the scroll which people have read aloud before [the] king of Judah.
‌ʻOku pehē mai ʻe Sihova, Vakai, Te u ʻomi ʻae kovi ki he potu ni, pea ki hono kakai, ʻio, ʻae ngaahi malaʻia kotoa pē ʻaia kuo tohi ʻi he tohi ʻaia naʻa nau lau ʻi he ʻao ʻoe tuʻi ʻo Siuta:
25 Because - that they have forsaken me (and they have made smoke *Q(K)*) to gods other so as to provoke to anger me by all [the] works of hands their so it may pour forth rage my on the place this and not it will be quenched.
Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau liʻaki au, pea mo e tutu ʻae meʻa namu kakala ki he ngaahi ʻotua kehe, koeʻuhi ke nau langaʻi ʻeku houhau lahi, ʻaki ʻae ngaahi ngāue ʻa honau nima: ko ia ʻe lilingi ai ʻeku houhau lahi ki he potu ni pea ʻe ʻikai fuʻifuʻi ia.
26 And to [the] king of Judah who sent you to consult Yahweh thus you will say to him. Thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel the words which you have heard.
Pea koeʻuhi ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, ʻaia naʻa ne fekau ʻakimoutolu ke fehuʻi kia Sihova, te mou tala pehē kiate ia, ʻOku pehē mai ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi lea ʻaia kuo ke ongoʻi:
27 Because it was soft heart your and you humbled yourself - from to before God when hearing you words his on the place this and on inhabitants its and you humbled yourself before me and you tore clothes your and you wept before me and also I I have heard [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Ko e meʻa ʻi he ongongofua ʻa ho loto, pea naʻa ke fakavaivai koe ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻi hoʻo ongoʻi ʻene ngaahi valoki ki he potu ni, pea ki he kakai ʻo ia, pea naʻa ke fakavaivai koe ʻi hoku ʻao, mo ke haehae ho ngaahi kofu, pea tangi ʻi hoku ʻao: ʻoku pehē foki ʻe Sihova kuo u ongoʻi koe.
28 Here I [will] gather you to ancestors your and you will be gathered to grave your in peace and not they will look eyes your on all the distress which I [am] about to bring on the place this and on inhabitants its and they brought back the king word.
Vakai, te u fakataha koe ki hoʻo ngaahi tamai, pea ʻe tānaki koe ki ho tanuʻanga ʻi he fiemālie pe, pea ʻe ʻikai mamata ʻe ho mata ki he kovi kotoa pē ʻaia te u ʻomi ki he potu ni, pea ki he kakai ʻo ia.” Ko ia naʻa nau ʻomi ʻae lea ki he tuʻi.
29 And he sent the king and he gathered all [the] elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
Pea naʻe fekau ai ʻe he tuʻi ʻo ne tānaki fakataha ʻae kau mātuʻa kotoa pē ʻo Siuta mo Selūsalema.
30 And he went up the king [the] house of Yahweh and every person of Judah and [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and the priests and the Levites and all the people from great and unto small and he read aloud in ears their all [the] words of [the] scroll of the covenant which had been found [the] house of Yahweh.
Pea naʻe ʻalu hake ʻae tuʻi ki he fale ʻo Sihova, pea mo e kau tangata kotoa pē ʻo Siuta, mo e kakai ʻo Selūsalema, mo e kau taulaʻeiki, mo e kau Livai, mo e kakai kotoa pē, ʻae lahi mo e siʻi: pea naʻe lau ʻe ia ʻi honau telinga, ʻae lea kotoa pē ʻoe tohi ʻoe fuakava ʻaia naʻe ʻilo ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova.
31 And he stood the king at place his and he made the covenant before Yahweh to walk after Yahweh and to keep commandments his and testimonies his and statutes his with all heart his and with all being his to observe [the] words of the covenant which was written on the scroll this.
Pea naʻe tuʻu ʻae tuʻi ʻi hono potu, pea fai ʻae fuakava ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ke muimui ia ʻia Sihova, pea ke tauhi ʻene ngaahi fekau, mo ʻene ngaahi fakamoʻoni, mo ʻene ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni, ʻaki hono loto kotoa, mo hono laumālie kotoa, ke fai ki he ngaahi lea ʻoe fuakava, ʻaia kuo tohi ʻi he tohi ni.
32 And he made stand every [one who] was found in Jerusalem and Benjamin and they did [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem according to [the] covenant of God [the] God of ancestors their.
Pea naʻa ne fakakau ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻo Selūsalema, mo Penisimani, ʻaia naʻe ʻi ai ke nau tuʻu ʻo fai ki ai. Pea naʻe fai ʻe he kakai ʻo Selūsalema ʻo fakatatau ki he fuakava ʻae ʻOtua, ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻenau ngaahi tamai.
33 And he removed Josiah all the abominations from all the lands which [belonged] to [the] people of Israel and he made to serve every [one who] was found in Israel to serve Yahweh God their all days his not they turned aside from after Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
Pea naʻe toʻo ʻo ʻave ke mamaʻo ʻe Sosaia ʻae ngaahi meʻa kovi mei he ngaahi fonua kotoa pē naʻe kau ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, pea ne fakakau ʻakinautolu kotoa pē naʻe kātoa ʻi ʻIsileli ke nau tauhi, ʻio, ke tauhi ʻa Sihova ko honau ʻOtua. Pea naʻe ʻikai te nau liʻaki ʻenau muimui kia Sihova, ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻenau ngaahi tamai, ʻi hono ngaahi ʻaho kotoa pē ʻoʻona.
