< 2 Chronicles 32 >
1 After the matters and the faithfulness these he came Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria and he came in Judah and he encamped on the cities fortified and he said to break into them to himself.
I muri i enei mea, i te mea ka ata takoto, ka haere mai a Henakeripi kingi o Ahiria, tae tonu mai ki Hura, whakapaea ana e ia nga pa taiepa; i mea hoki ia kia riro atu i a ia.
2 And he saw Hezekiah that he had come Sennacherib and face his [was] for war on Jerusalem.
3 And he took counsel with officials his and mighty [men] his to stop up [the] waters of the springs which [were] from [the] outside of the city and they helped him.
4 And they assembled people numerous and they stopped up all the springs and the wadi which flowed in [the] middle of the land saying why? will they come [the] kings of Assyria and they will find waters many.
Heoi nui atu te iwi i huihui mai, a purua ana e ratou nga puna katoa, me te awa e rere ana i waenganui o te whenua; i ki hoki ratou, He aha kia haere mai nga kingi o Ahiria, kia nui te wai e kitea e ratou?
5 And he strengthened himself and he rebuilt all the city wall which was broken down and he put up on the towers and to the outside the city wall another and he strengthened the Millo [the] city of David and he made weapon[s] to abundance and shields.
Na ka whakapakari ia, a hanga ana e ia te taiepa katoa i pakaru, a eke noa ki nga pourewa; me tetahi atu taiepa ano i waho, i whakakahangia ano e ia a Miro i te pa o Rawiri: a he tini nga pere me nga whakangungu rakau i hanga e ia.
6 And he appointed commanders of wars over the people and he assembled them to himself to [the] open place of [the] gate of the city and he spoke to heart their saying.
7 Be strong and be courageous may not you be afraid and may not you be dismayed because of [the] king of Assyria and from before all the multitude which [is] with him for [is] with us [one] great more than with him.
8 [is] with Him an arm of flesh and [is] with us Yahweh God our to help us and to fight battles our and they supported themselves the people on [the] words of Hezekiah [the] king of Judah.
Ko tona he ringa kikokiko; ko to tatou ia, ko Ihowa, ko to tatou Atua hei awhina mo tatou, hei whawhai i ta tatou whawhai.
9 After this he sent Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria servants his Jerusalem towards and he [was] at Lachish and all imperial might his [was] with him to Hezekiah [the] king of Judah and to all Judah which [was] in Jerusalem saying.
I muri i tenei ka unga mai ana tangata e Henakeripi kingi o Ahiria ki Hiruharama: ko ia hoki i te whakapae i Rakihi, a ko tona kingitanga katoa i a ia; hei mea ki a Hetekia kingi o Hura, ki a Hura katoa ano i Hiruharama,
10 Thus he says Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria on what? [are] you relying and remaining in siege in Jerusalem.
11 ¿ Not [is] Hezekiah misleading you to give you to die by hunger and by thirst saying Yahweh God our he will deliver us from [the] hand of [the] king of Assyria.
He teka ianei he whakapati ta Hetekia i a koutou, he mea kia tukua ai koutou ki te mate i te kore kai, i te kore wai, i a ia e ki ra, Tera tatou e whakaorangia e Ihowa, e to tatou Atua i te ringa o te kingi o Ahiria?
12 ¿ Not that Hezekiah did he remove high places his and altars his and did he say? to Judah and to Jerusalem saying before an altar one you will bow down and on it you will make smoke.
He teka ianei na taua Hetekia nei i whakakore ona wahi tiketike, me ana aata, a ki ana ia ki a Hura, ki Hiruharama, mea ana, Hei mua i te aata kotahi koutou koropiko ai, ki runga ano i tenei koutou tahu ai i te whakakakara?
13 ¿ Not do you know what? have I done I and fathers my to all [the] peoples of the lands ¿ really were they able [the] gods of [the] nations of the lands to deliver land their from hand my.
Kahore ranei koutou e mohio ki nga mea i mea ai ahau me oku matua ki nga iwi katoa o nga whenua nei? i taea ranei e nga atua o nga iwi o aua whenua te whakaora to ratou whenua i toku ringa?
14 Who? among all [the] gods of the nations these which they totally destroyed fathers my [is one] which it was able to deliver people its from hand my that he will be able God your to deliver you from hand my.
Ko wai o nga atua o enei iwi i huna nei e oku matua i kaha ki te whakaora i tana iwi i roto i toku ringa, e kaha ai to koutou Atua ki te whakaora i a koutou i roto i toku ringa?
15 And therefore may not he deceive you Hezekiah and may not he mislead you like this and may not you believe him for not it has been able any god of any nation and kingdom to deliver people its from hand my and from [the] hand of fathers my indeed? for gods your not they will deliver you from hand my.
Na kei tinihangatia koutou e Hetekia, kei whakapati hoki ia i a koutou, kei pera me tana na; kaua hoki e whakapono ki a ia; no te mea kihai i kaha te atua o tetahi iwi, o tetahi kingitanga ranei ki te whakaora i tana iwi i roto i toku ringa, i t e ringa ano o oku matua; e kore rawa to koutou Atua e whakaora i a koutou i roto i toku ringa.
16 And again they spoke servants his on Yahweh God and on Hezekiah servant his.
Tera atu ano ta ana tangata i korero kino ai mo te Atua, mo Ihowa, mo tana tangata ano, mo Hetekia.
17 And letters he wrote to taunt Yahweh [the] God of Israel and to say on him saying like [the] gods of [the] nations of the lands which not they delivered people their from hand my so not he will deliver [the] God of Hezekiah people his from hand my.
18 And they called out with a voice great [in] Judean to [the] people of Jerusalem which [was] on the wall to make afraid them and to terrify them so that they may capture the city.
19 And they spoke concerning [the] God of Jerusalem as on [the] gods of [the] peoples of the land [the] work of [the] hands of humankind.
20 And he prayed Hezekiah the king and Isaiah [the] son of Amoz the prophet on this and they cried out the heavens.
21 And he sent Yahweh an angel and he annihilated every mighty [man] of strength and officer and commander in [the] camp of [the] king of Assyria and he returned with shame of face to own land his and he came [the] house of god his (and some of [the] offspring of *Q(K)*) lower parts his there they made fall him by the sword.
22 And he saved Yahweh Hezekiah and - [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem from [the] hand of Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria and from [the] hand of everyone and he led them from round about.
Heoi whakaorangia ake a Hetekia me nga tangata o Hiruharama e Ihowa i te ringa o Henakeripi kingi o Ahiria, i te ringa ano o era katoa, a arahina ana ratou e ia i tetahi taha, i tetahi taha.
23 And many [people] [were] bringing an offering to Yahweh to Jerusalem and excellent things to Hezekiah [the] king of Judah and he was lifted up to [the] eyes of all the nations from after thus.
24 In the days those he was sick Hezekiah until die and he prayed to Yahweh and he spoke to him and a sign he gave to him.
I aua ra ka mate a Hetekia, whano marere. Na ko tana inoinga ki a Ihowa, ka korero tera ki a ia, ka homai ano i te tohu ki a ia.
25 And not according to [the] benefit on him he repaid Hezekiah for it was haughty heart his and it was towards him wrath and towards Judah and Jerusalem.
Otiia kihai i rite ki te atawhainga ki a ia ta Hetekia utu: i whakakake hoki tona ngakau; na kua takoto he riri mona, mo Hura, mo Hiruharama.
26 And he humbled himself Hezekiah in [the] haughtiness of heart his he and [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and not it came towards them [the] wrath of Yahweh in [the] days of Hezekiah.
Otiia i whakaiti a Hetekia i a ia, mo tona ngakau i whakakake ra, a ia, me nga tangata ano o Hiruharama, a kihai te riri o Ihowa i puta ki a ratou i nga ra o Hetekia.
27 And it belonged to Hezekiah wealth and honor great exceedingly and treasuries he made for himself for silver and for gold and for stone[s] precious and for spices and for shields and for all articles of preciousness.
Na nui atu te taonga me te kororia i a Hetekia: a hanga ana e ia he toa taonga mo te hiriwa, mo te koura, mo nga kohatu utu nui, mo nga mea kakara, mo nga whakangungu rakau, mo nga mea katoa e matenuitia ana;
28 And storehouses for [the] yield of grain and new wine and fresh oil and stalls for all livestock and livestock and flocks for the stalls.
He toa ano mo nga hua o te witi, o te waina, o te hinu, me nga tunga mo ia kararehe, mo ia kararehe, me nga taiepa mo nga kahui hipi.
29 And cities he made for himself and livestock of flock and herd to abundance for he had given to him God property much very.
I hanga ano e ia etahi pa mona, a he tini ano nga kahui hipi, kau hoki: nui atu hoki te taonga i homai e te Atua ki a ia.
30 And he Hezekiah he stopped up [the] outlet of [the] waters of Gihon upper and he directed them downwards west-ward of [the] city of David and he prospered Hezekiah in every deed his.
Oti pai ana hoki i a Hetekia ana mahi katoa.
31 And thus in [the] envoys of - [the] officials of Babylon who sent to him to enquire the sign which it had happened in the land he left him God to put to [the] test him to know everything in heart his.
32 And [the] rest of [the] matters of Hezekiah and covenant loyalti his there they [are] written in [the] vision of Isaiah [the] son of Amoz the prophet on [the] scroll of [the] kings of Judah and Israel.
33 And he lay down Hezekiah with ancestors his and people buried him at [the] ascent of [the] graves of [the] descendants of David and honor they did to him at death his all Judah and [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and he became king Manasseh son his in place of him.
Na kua moe a Hetekia ki ona matua, a tanumia iho ki to runga rawa o nga urupa o nga tama a Rawiri: a i tona matenga ka whakakororiatia ia e Hura katoa, ratou ko nga tangata o Hiruharama; a ko tana tama, ko Manahi, te kingi i muri i a ia.
