2 Chronicles 32
1 After the matters and the faithfulness these he came Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria and he came in Judah and he encamped on the cities fortified and he said to break into them to himself.
Nach [2. Kön. 18,13 usw.; Jes. 36] diesen Dingen und dieser Treue kam Sanherib, der König von Assyrien; und er drang in Juda ein und lagerte sich wider die festen Städte, und er gedachte, sie für sich zu erobern. [Eig. erbrechen]
2 And he saw Hezekiah that he had come Sennacherib and face his [was] for war on Jerusalem.
Und als Jehiskia sah, daß Sanherib gekommen und daß sein Angesicht zum Streit wider Jerusalem gerichtet war,
3 And he took counsel with officials his and mighty [men] his to stop up [the] waters of the springs which [were] from [the] outside of the city and they helped him.
da beriet er sich mit seinen Obersten und seinen Helden, die Wasser der Quellen zu verstopfen, [Eig. verdecken, einschließen; so auch v 4. 30] welche außerhalb der Stadt waren; und sie halfen ihm.
4 And they assembled people numerous and they stopped up all the springs and the wadi which flowed in [the] middle of the land saying why? will they come [the] kings of Assyria and they will find waters many.
Und es versammelte sich viel Volks, und sie verstopften alle Quellen und den Bach, [den Gihon; vergl. v 30] der mitten durch das Land fließt, indem sie sprachen: Warum sollten die Könige von Assyrien kommen und viel Wasser finden?
5 And he strengthened himself and he rebuilt all the city wall which was broken down and he put up on the towers and to the outside the city wall another and he strengthened the Millo [the] city of David and he made weapon[s] to abundance and shields.
Und er faßte Mut und baute die ganze Mauer, wo sie eingerissen war, und führte sie auf bis an die Türme, [Viell. ist zu l.: und führte Türme auf ihr auf] und die andere Mauer außerhalb, und befestigte das Millo [Wall, Burg; vergl. 1. Chron. 11,7. 8] der Stadt Davids; und er verfertigte Waffen in Menge und Schilde.
6 And he appointed commanders of wars over the people and he assembled them to himself to [the] open place of [the] gate of the city and he spoke to heart their saying.
Auch setzte er Kriegsoberste über das Volk; und er versammelte sie zu sich auf den Platz am Stadttore, und redete zu ihren Herzen und sprach:
7 Be strong and be courageous may not you be afraid and may not you be dismayed because of [the] king of Assyria and from before all the multitude which [is] with him for [is] with us [one] great more than with him.
Seid stark und mutig! fürchtet euch nicht und erschrecket nicht vor dem König von Assyrien und vor all der Menge, die mit ihm ist; denn mit uns sind mehr als mit ihm.
8 [is] with Him an arm of flesh and [is] with us Yahweh God our to help us and to fight battles our and they supported themselves the people on [the] words of Hezekiah [the] king of Judah.
Mit ihm ist ein Arm des Fleisches; aber mit uns ist Jehova, unser Gott, um uns zu helfen und unsere Streite zu führen! Und das Volk verließ sich auf die Worte Jehiskias, des Königs von Juda.
9 After this he sent Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria servants his Jerusalem towards and he [was] at Lachish and all imperial might his [was] with him to Hezekiah [the] king of Judah and to all Judah which [was] in Jerusalem saying.
Nach diesem sandte Sanherib, der König von Assyrien, seine Knechte nach Jerusalem [er war aber noch vor Lachis, und seine ganze Macht mit ihm] an Jehiskia, den König von Juda, und an ganz Juda, das in Jerusalem war, und ließ ihnen sagen:
10 Thus he says Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria on what? [are] you relying and remaining in siege in Jerusalem.
So spricht Sanherib, der König von Assyrien: Worauf vertrauet ihr, daß ihr in Belagerung bleibet zu Jerusalem?
11 ¿ Not [is] Hezekiah misleading you to give you to die by hunger and by thirst saying Yahweh God our he will deliver us from [the] hand of [the] king of Assyria.
Verführt euch Jehiskia nicht, um euch dem Tode durch Hunger und Durst preiszugeben, indem er spricht: Jehova, unser Gott, wird uns aus der Hand des Königs von Assyrien erretten?
12 ¿ Not that Hezekiah did he remove high places his and altars his and did he say? to Judah and to Jerusalem saying before an altar one you will bow down and on it you will make smoke.
Ist es nicht Jehiskia, der seine Höhen und seine Altäre hinweggetan, und zu Juda und zu Jerusalem gesprochen und gesagt hat: Vor einem Altar sollt ihr anbeten, und auf ihm sollt ihr räuchern?
13 ¿ Not do you know what? have I done I and fathers my to all [the] peoples of the lands ¿ really were they able [the] gods of [the] nations of the lands to deliver land their from hand my.
Wisset ihr nicht, was ich und meine Väter allen Völkern der Länder getan haben? Haben die Götter der Nationen der Länder irgendwie vermocht, ihr Land aus meiner Hand zu erretten?
14 Who? among all [the] gods of the nations these which they totally destroyed fathers my [is one] which it was able to deliver people its from hand my that he will be able God your to deliver you from hand my.
Wer ist unter allen Göttern dieser Nationen, die meine Väter vertilgt haben, der vermocht hätte, sein Volk aus meiner Hand zu erretten, daß euer Gott vermögen sollte, euch aus meiner Hand zu erretten?
15 And therefore may not he deceive you Hezekiah and may not he mislead you like this and may not you believe him for not it has been able any god of any nation and kingdom to deliver people its from hand my and from [the] hand of fathers my indeed? for gods your not they will deliver you from hand my.
Und nun, daß euch Hiskia nicht täusche, und daß er euch nicht auf solche Weise verführe! und glaubet ihm nicht! Denn kein Gott [H. Eloah] irgend einer Nation und irgend eines Königreiches hat sein Volk aus meiner Hand und aus der Hand meiner Väter zu erretten vermocht; wieviel weniger wird euer Gott euch aus meiner Hand erretten!
16 And again they spoke servants his on Yahweh God and on Hezekiah servant his.
Und noch mehr redeten seine Knechte wider Jehova Gott [W. den Gott] und wider Jehiskia, seinen Knecht.
17 And letters he wrote to taunt Yahweh [the] God of Israel and to say on him saying like [the] gods of [the] nations of the lands which not they delivered people their from hand my so not he will deliver [the] God of Hezekiah people his from hand my.
Auch schrieb er einen Brief, um Jehova, den Gott Israels, zu verhöhnen und wider ihn zu reden, indem er sprach: Gleich den Göttern der Nationen der Länder, welche ihr Volk nicht aus meiner Hand errettet haben, so wird auch der Gott Jehiskias sein Volk nicht aus meiner Hand erretten.
18 And they called out with a voice great [in] Judean to [the] people of Jerusalem which [was] on the wall to make afraid them and to terrify them so that they may capture the city.
Und sie riefen dem Volke von Jerusalem, das auf der Mauer war, mit lauter Stimme auf jüdisch zu, um sie zu schrecken und bestürzt zu machen, damit sie die Stadt einnähmen.
19 And they spoke concerning [the] God of Jerusalem as on [the] gods of [the] peoples of the land [the] work of [the] hands of humankind.
Und sie redeten von dem Gott Jerusalems wie von den Göttern der Völker der Erde, einem Machwerk von Menschenhänden.
20 And he prayed Hezekiah the king and Isaiah [the] son of Amoz the prophet on this and they cried out the heavens.
Und der König Jehiskia und Jesaja, der Sohn Amoz, der Prophet, beteten dieserhalb und schrieen gen Himmel.
21 And he sent Yahweh an angel and he annihilated every mighty [man] of strength and officer and commander in [the] camp of [the] king of Assyria and he returned with shame of face to own land his and he came [the] house of god his (and some of [the] offspring of *Q(K)*) lower parts his there they made fall him by the sword.
Da sandte Jehova einen Engel, der alle tapferen Helden und Fürsten und Obersten im Lager des Königs von Assyrien vertilgte; und dieser zog mit Beschämung des Angesichts in sein Land zurück. Und als er in das Haus seines Gottes ging, fällten ihn daselbst durch das Schwert solche, die aus seinem Leibe hervorgegangen waren.
22 And he saved Yahweh Hezekiah and - [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem from [the] hand of Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria and from [the] hand of everyone and he led them from round about.
So rettete Jehova Jehiskia und die Bewohner von Jerusalem aus der Hand Sanheribs, des Königs von Assyrien, und aus der Hand aller; und er schützte sie [And. l.: schaffte ihnen Ruhe] ringsum.
23 And many [people] [were] bringing an offering to Yahweh to Jerusalem and excellent things to Hezekiah [the] king of Judah and he was lifted up to [the] eyes of all the nations from after thus.
Und viele brachten Gaben für Jehova nach Jerusalem, und Kostbarkeiten für Jehiskia, den König von Juda; und er wurde danach erhoben in den Augen aller Nationen.
24 In the days those he was sick Hezekiah until die and he prayed to Yahweh and he spoke to him and a sign he gave to him.
In jenen Tagen wurde Jehiskia krank zum Sterben; und er betete zu Jehova. Und Jehova [W. er] redete zu ihm und gab [O. tat] ihm ein Wunder.
25 And not according to [the] benefit on him he repaid Hezekiah for it was haughty heart his and it was towards him wrath and towards Judah and Jerusalem.
Aber Jehiskia vergalt nicht nach der Wohltat, die ihm erwiesen worden war, denn sein Herz überhob sich; und es kam ein Zorn über ihn und über Juda und Jerusalem.
26 And he humbled himself Hezekiah in [the] haughtiness of heart his he and [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and not it came towards them [the] wrath of Yahweh in [the] days of Hezekiah.
Da demütigte sich Jehiskia wegen der Überhebung seines Herzens, er und die Bewohner von Jerusalem; und der Zorn Jehovas kam nicht über sie in den Tagen Jehiskias.
27 And it belonged to Hezekiah wealth and honor great exceedingly and treasuries he made for himself for silver and for gold and for stone[s] precious and for spices and for shields and for all articles of preciousness.
Und Jehiskia hatte sehr viel Reichtum und Ehre. Und er machte sich Schatzkammern für Silber und Gold und Edelsteine, und für Gewürze, und für Schilde und für allerlei kostbare Geräte;
28 And storehouses for [the] yield of grain and new wine and fresh oil and stalls for all livestock and livestock and flocks for the stalls.
und Vorratshäuser für den Ertrag an Getreide und Most und Öl, und Ställe für allerlei Vieh, und er verschaffte sich Herden für die Ställe. [Wahrsch. ist zu l.: und Ställe für die Herden]
29 And cities he made for himself and livestock of flock and herd to abundance for he had given to him God property much very.
Und er legte sich Städte an, und Herden von Kleinvieh und Rinder in Menge; denn Gott gab ihm eine sehr große Habe.
30 And he Hezekiah he stopped up [the] outlet of [the] waters of Gihon upper and he directed them downwards west-ward of [the] city of David and he prospered Hezekiah in every deed his.
Und er, Jehiskia, verstopfte den oberen Ausfluß der Wasser des Gihon und leitete sie unter dem Boden westwärts nach der Stadt Davids. Und Jehiskia hatte Gelingen in all seinem Tun.
31 And thus in [the] envoys of - [the] officials of Babylon who sent to him to enquire the sign which it had happened in the land he left him God to put to [the] test him to know everything in heart his.
Und so [And. üb.: Jedoch] verließ ihn Gott bei den Gesandten der Fürsten von Babel [die zu ihm gesandt hatten, um nach dem Wunder zu fragen, welches im Lande geschehen war], um ihn zu versuchen, damit er alles erkennte, was in seinem Herzen war.
32 And [the] rest of [the] matters of Hezekiah and covenant loyalti his there they [are] written in [the] vision of Isaiah [the] son of Amoz the prophet on [the] scroll of [the] kings of Judah and Israel.
Und das Übrige der Geschichte Jehiskias und seine guten [Eig. frommen] Taten, siehe, sie sind geschrieben in dem Gesichte Jesajas, des Sohnes Amoz, des Propheten, in dem Buche der Könige von Juda und Israel.
33 And he lay down Hezekiah with ancestors his and people buried him at [the] ascent of [the] graves of [the] descendants of David and honor they did to him at death his all Judah and [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and he became king Manasseh son his in place of him.
Und Jehiskia legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn auf der Anhöhe der Gräber [O. auf dem Aufstieg zu den Gräbern] der Söhne Davids; und ganz Juda und die Bewohner von Jerusalem erzeigten ihm Ehre bei seinem Tode. Und Manasse, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
