2 Chronicles 22
1 And they made king [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem Ahaziah son his young in place of him for all the former [sons] it had killed the marauding band which came with the Arabs to the camp and he became king Ahaziah [the] son of Jehoram [the] king of Judah.
| וימליכו יושבי ירושלם את אחזיהו בנו הקטן תחתיו כי כל הראשנים הרג הגדוד הבא בערבים למחנה וימלך אחזיהו בן יהורם מלך יהודה׃ |
2 [was] a son of Forty and two year[s] Ahaziah when became king he and a year one he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Athaliah [the] daughter of Omri.
| בן ארבעים ושתים שנה אחזיהו במלכו ושנה אחת מלך בירושלם ושם אמו עתליהו בת עמרי׃ |
3 Also he he walked in [the] ways of [the] house of Ahab for mother his she was [female] counselor his to act wickedly.
| גם הוא הלך בדרכי בית אחאב כי אמו היתה יועצתו להרשיע׃ |
4 And he did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh like [the] house of Ahab for they they were of him counselors after [the] death of father his to destruction of him.
| ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה כבית אחאב כי המה היו לו יועצים אחרי מות אביו למשחית לו׃ |
5 Also in counsel their he walked and he went with Jehoram [the] son of Ahab [the] king of Israel to war on Hazael [the] king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead and they wounded the Arameans Joram.
| גם בעצתם הלך וילך את יהורם בן אחאב מלך ישראל למלחמה על חזאל מלך ארם ברמות גלעד ויכו הרמים את יורם׃ |
6 And he returned to get himself healed in Jezreel for the wounds which they had wounded him at Ramah when fought he with Hazael [the] king of Aram and Azariah [the] son of Jehoram [the] king of Judah he went down to see Jehoram [the] son of Ahab in Jezreel for [was] being ill he.
| וישב להתרפא ביזרעאל כי המכים אשר הכהו ברמה בהלחמו את חזהאל מלך ארם ועזריהו בן יהורם מלך יהודה ירד לראות את יהורם בן אחאב ביזרעאל כי חלה הוא׃ |
7 And from God it was [the] downfall of Ahaziah by going to Joram and when went he he went out with Jehoram to Jehu [the] son of Nimshi whom he had anointed him Yahweh to cut off [the] house of Ahab.
| ומאלהים היתה תבוסת אחזיהו לבוא אל יורם ובבאו יצא עם יהורם אל יהוא בן נמשי אשר משחו יהוה להכרית את בית אחאב׃ |
8 And it was when entered into judgment Jehu with [the] house of Ahab and he found [the] officials of Judah and [the] sons of [the] brothers of Ahaziah serving Ahaziah and he killed them.
| ויהי כהשפט יהוא עם בית אחאב וימצא את שרי יהודה ובני אחי אחזיהו משרתים לאחזיהו ויהרגם׃ |
9 And he sought to find Ahaziah and people captured him and he [was] hiding himself in Samaria and they brought him to Jehu and they put to death him and they buried him for they said [was] [the] son of Jehoshaphat he who he sought Yahweh with all heart his and not for [the] house of Ahaziah to retain strength for kingship.
| ויבקש את אחזיהו וילכדהו והוא מתחבא בשמרון ויבאהו אל יהוא וימתהו ויקברהו כי אמרו בן יהושפט הוא אשר דרש את יהוה בכל לבבו ואין לבית אחזיהו לעצר כח לממלכה׃ |
10 And Athaliah [the] mother of Ahaziah she saw that he was dead son her and she arose and she destroyed all [the] offspring of royalty of [the] house of Judah.
| ועתליהו אם אחזיהו ראתה כי מת בנה ותקם ותדבר את כל זרע הממלכה לבית יהודה׃ |
11 And she took Jehoshabeath [the] daughter of the king Joash [the] son of Ahaziah and she stole him from among [the] sons of the king who were being put to death and she put him and suckling-nurse his in [the] chamber of the beds and she hid him Jehoshabeath [the] daughter of the king Jehoram [the] wife of Jehoiada the priest for she she was [the] sister of Ahaziah from before Athaliah and not she killed him.
| ותקח יהושבעת בת המלך את יואש בן אחזיהו ותגנב אתו מתוך בני המלך המומתים ותתן אתו ואת מינקתו בחדר המטות ותסתירהו יהושבעת בת המלך יהורם אשת יהוידע הכהן כי היא היתה אחות אחזיהו מפני עתליהו ולא המיתתהו׃ |
12 And he was with them in [the] house of God hiding six years and Athaliah [was] reigning over the land.
| ויהי אתם בבית האלהים מתחבא שש שנים ועתליה מלכת על הארץ׃ |
