2 Chronicles 16
1 In year thirty and six of [the] reign of Asa he came up Baasha [the] king of Israel on Judah and he built Ramah to not [surely] permitting one going out or one coming in to Asa [the] king of Judah.
Mais à l’année trente-sixième de son règne, Baasa, roi d’Israël, monta en Juda, et environna d’un mur Rama, afin que nul du royaume d’Asa ne pût sûrement sortir et entrer.
2 And he brought out Asa silver and gold from [the] treasuries of [the] house of Yahweh and [the] house of the king and he sent [it] to Ben Hadad [the] king of Aram who dwelt in Damascus saying.
Asa prit donc de l’argent et de l’or des trésors de la maison du Seigneur, et des trésors du roi, et envoya à Bénadad, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas, disant:
3 A covenant [be] between me and between you and between father my and between father your here! I have sent to you silver and gold go break covenant your with Baasha [the] king of Israel so he may go up from on me.
Il y a une alliance entre moi et vous; mon père aussi et le vôtre ont entretenu la concorde; c’est pourquoi je vous ai envoyé de l’argent et de l’or, afin que, rompant l’alliance que vous avez faite avec Baasa, roi d’Israël, vous l’obligiez à s’éloigner de moi.
4 And he listened Ben Hadad to the king Asa and he sent [the] commanders of the armies which [belonged] to him against [the] cities of Israel and they struck down Ijon and Dan and Abel Maim and all [the] stores of [the] cities of Naphtali.
Cette nouvelle reçue, Bénadad envoya les princes de ses armées contre les villes d’Israël, lesquels frappèrent Ahion, et Dan, et Abelmaïm, et toutes les villes de Nephthali murées.
5 And it was when heard Baasha and he ceased from building Ramah and he caused to cease work his.
Lorsque Baasa l’eut appris, il cessa de bâtir Rama, et interrompit son ouvrage.
6 And Asa the king he took all Judah and they carried off [the] stones of Ramah and wood its which he had built Baasha and he built with them Geba and Mizpah.
Or le roi Asa prit tout Juda avec lui, et ils enlevèrent les pierres de Rama et les bois qu’avaient préparés Baasa pour bâtir, et il en bâtit Gabaa et Maspha.
7 And at the time that he came Hanani the seer to Asa [the] king of Judah and he said to him because depending you on [the] king of Aram and not you depended on Yahweh God your there-fore it has escaped [the] army of [the] king of Aram from hand your.
En ce temps-là, Hanani, le prophète, vint vers Asa, roi de Juda, et lui dit: Parce que vous avez eu confiance dans le roi de Syrie, et non dans le Seigneur votre Dieu, c’est pourquoi l’armée du roi de Syrie s’est échappée de votre main.
8 ¿ Not the Cushites and the Libyans were they an army - for multitude chariotry and horsemen to abundance exceedingly and because depending you on Yahweh he gave them in hand your.
Est-ce que les Ethiopiens et les Libyens n’étaient pas beaucoup plus nombreux en quadriges, en cavaliers et en une multitude considérable? Et comme vous aviez cru au Seigneur, il les livra en votre main.
9 For Yahweh eyes his [are] roving about in all the earth to show himself strong with [those who] heart their [is] complete to him you have acted foolishly on this for from now there with you [will be] wars.
Car les yeux du Seigneur contemplent toute la terre, et ils donnent de la force à ceux qui d’un cœur parfait croient en lui. Vous avez donc agi follement, et à cause de cela dès à présent des guerres s’élèveront contre vous.
10 And he was angry Asa against the seer and he put him [the] house of the stock[s] for in a rage with him on this and he crushed Asa some of the people at the time that.
Mais Asa, irrité contre le Voyant, commanda qu’il fût mis dans les chaînes; car il avait été très indigné de ses paroles; et il tua en ce temps-là un grand nombre de personnes d’entre le peuple.
11 And there! [the] matters of Asa former and latter there they [are] written on [the] scroll of the kings of Judah and Israel.
Or les actions d’Asa, les premières et les dernières, sont écrites dans le Livre des rois de Juda et d’Israël.
12 And he became sick Asa in year thirty and nine of reign his in feet his [was] to upwards sickness his and also in sickness his not he sought Yahweh for the physicians.
Asa fut aussi malade, la trente-neuvième année de son règne, d’une douleur aux pieds très violente, et dans son infirmité il ne chercha point le Seigneur; mais il se confia davantage en l’art des médecins.
13 And he lay down Asa with ancestors his and he died in year forty and one of reigning his.
Et il dormit avec ses pères; et il mourut l’an quarante et unième de son règne.
14 And people buried him in own grave his which he had dug for himself in [the] city of David and they made lie him in the lying place which he had filled spices and kinds mixed as ointment of work and they burned for him a burning great up to muchness.
Et on l’ensevelit dans son sépulcre qu’il s’était creusé dans la cité de David; et on le mit sur son lit rempli d’aromates et d’essences de femme de mauvaise vie, composées selon l’art des parfumeurs, et on les brûla sur lui en très grand appareil.
