2 Chronicles 13
1 In year eight-teen of the king Jeroboam and he became king Abijah over Judah.
La dix-huitième année du roi Jéroboam, Abia devint roi de Juda,
2 Three years he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Micaiah [the] daughter of Uriel from Gibeah and war it was between Abijah and between Jeroboam.
et il régna trois ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s’appelait Michaïa, fille d’Uriel de Gabaa. Il y eut guerre entre Abia et Jéroboam.
3 And he bound Abijah the battle with an army of mighty [men] of war four hundred thousand man chosen. And Jeroboam he drew up in formation with him battle with eight hundred thousand man chosen mighty of strength.
Abia engagea les hostilités avec une armée de vaillants guerriers, quatre cent mille hommes d’élite; et Jéroboam se rangea en bataille contre lui avec huit cent mille hommes d’élite, vaillants guerriers.
4 And he stood Abijah on [the] mountain of Zemaraim which [is] in [the] hill country of Ephraim and he said listen to me O Jeroboam and all Israel.
Du haut du mont Séméron, qui est dans la montagne d’Éphraïm, Abia se leva et dit: « Écoutez-moi, Jéroboam et tout Israël!
5 ¿ Not [belong] to you [does] to know that Yahweh - [the] God of Israel he has given kingship to David over Israel for ever to him and to descendants his a covenant of salt.
Ne devez-vous pas savoir que Yahweh, le Dieu d’Israël, a donné pour toujours à David la royauté sur Israël, à lui et à ses fils, par une alliance inviolable?
6 And he arose Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat [the] servant of Solomon [the] son of David and he rebelled on master his.
Et Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, serviteur de Salomon, fils de David, s’est levé et s’est révolté contre son maître.
7 And they gathered to him men empty sons of worthlessness and they proved themselves strong over Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon and Rehoboam he was a young man and weak of heart and not he showed himself strong before them.
Des gens de rien, des fils de Bélial, se sont rassemblés auprès de lui et l’ont emporté sur Roboam, fils de Salomon. Roboam était encore un jeune homme, d’un cœur timide, et il ne put leur résister.
8 And now - you [are] saying to show yourselves strong before [the] kingdom of Yahweh in [the] hand of [the] descendants of David and you [are] a multitude great and [are] with you calves of gold which he made for you Jeroboam to gods.
Et maintenant, vous pensez prévaloir devant le royaume de Yahweh, qui est entre les mains des fils de David; et vous êtes une multitude nombreuse, et avec vous sont les veaux d’or que Jéroboam vous a faits pour dieux.
9 ¿ Not have you driven out [the] priests of Yahweh [the] descendants of Aaron and the Levites and you have appointed for yourselves priests like [the] peoples of the lands every [one who] comes to fill own hand his with a young bull a young one of cattle and rams seven and he will become a priest to not gods.
N’avez-vous pas rejeté les prêtres de Yahweh, les fils d’Aaron et les lévites, et ne vous êtes-vous pas fait des prêtres, comme les peuples des pays? Quiconque est venu avec un jeune taureau et sept béliers, pour se faire consacrer, est devenu prêtre de ce qui n’est point Dieu.
10 And we Yahweh [is] God our and not we have forsaken him and [we are] priests serving Yahweh [the] descendants of Aaron and the Levites [are] in the work.
Pour nous, Yahweh est notre Dieu, et nous ne l’avons point abandonné; les prêtres au service de Yahweh sont fils d’Aaron, et les lévites sont à leur ministère.
11 And [are] making smoke to Yahweh burnt offerings in the morning in the morning and in the evening in the evening and incense of perfume and [the] row of bread on the table clean and [the] lampstand of gold and lamps its to burn in the evening in the evening for [are] keeping we [the] duty of Yahweh God our and you you have forsaken him.
Chaque matin et chaque soir ils font fumer des holocaustes à Yahweh, ainsi que le parfum odoriférant; ils mettent les pains de proposition sur la table pure, et allument chaque soir le chandelier d’or avec ses lampes; car nous observons l’ordonnance de Yahweh, notre Dieu, et vous, vous l’avez abandonné.
12 And here! [is] with us at the head God - and priests his and [the] trumpets of the alarm to sound [the] battle signal on you O people of Israel may not you do battle with Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your for not you will succeed.
Voici que Dieu et ses prêtres sont avec nous, à notre tête, ainsi que les trompettes sonores, pour les faire retentir contre vous. Enfants d’Israël, ne faites pas la guerre à Yahweh, le Dieu de vos pères, car vous n’auriez aucun succès. »
13 And Jeroboam he had caused to go round the ambush to come from behind them and they were to front of Judah and the ambush [was] from behind them.
Jéroboam fit faire un mouvement tournant aux guerriers placés en embuscade pour qu’ils vinssent sur les derrières de l’ennemi, en sorte que ses troupes étaient en face de Juda, et l’embuscade par derrière.
14 And they turned Judah and there! [was] to them the battle before and behind and they cried out to Yahweh and the priests ([were] blowing a trumpet *Q(k)*) on trumpets.
Ceux de Juda se retournèrent, et voici qu’ils étaient attaqués en avant et en arrière. Ils crièrent vers Yahweh, et les prêtres sonnèrent des trompettes.
15 And they sounded [the] battle signal [the] man of Judah and it was when sounded [the] battle signal [the] man of Judah and God he defeated Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
Les hommes de Juda poussèrent un cri de guerre et, pendant que les hommes de Juda poussaient le cri de guerre, Dieu frappa Jéroboam et tout Israël devant Abia et Juda.
16 And they fled [the] people of Israel from before Judah and he gave them God in hand their.
Les enfants d’Israël s’enfuirent devant Juda, et Dieu les livra entre ses mains.
17 And they struck down among them Abijah and people his a striking great and they fell slain of Israel five hundred thousand man chosen.
Abia et son peuple en firent un grand carnage, et cinq cent mille hommes d’élite tombèrent morts parmi Israël.
18 And they were humbled [the] people of Israel at the time that and they were strong [the] people of Judah for they depended on Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
Les enfants d’Israël furent humiliés en ce temps-là, et les enfants de Juda se fortifièrent, parce qu’ils s’étaient appuyés sur Yahweh, le Dieu de leurs pères.
19 And he pursued Abijah after Jeroboam and he captured from him cities Beth-el and daughters its and Jeshanah and daughters its and (Ephrayin *Q(K)*) and daughters its.
Abia poursuivit Jéroboam et lui prit des villes: Béthel et les villes de sa dépendance, Jésana et les villes de sa dépendance, Éphron et les villes de sa dépendance.
20 And not he retained [the] strength of Jeroboam again in [the] days of Abijah and he struck him Yahweh and he died.
Jéroboam ne recouvra point de force du temps d’Abia; Yahweh le frappa et il mourut.
21 And he strengthened himself Abijah and he took for himself wives four-teen and he fathered twenty and two sons and six-teen daughters.
Mais Abia devint puissant; il prit quatorze femmes et engendra vingt-deux fils et seize filles.
22 And [the] rest of [the] matters of Abijah and ways his and words his [are] written in [the] record of the prophet Iddo.
Le reste des actes d’Abia, ses gestes et ses paroles, sont écrits dans les Mémoires du prophète Addo.
