1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore first of all to be made entreaties, prayers intercessions, [and] thanksgivings on behalf of all men,
Napomínámť pak, aby přede vším činěny bývaly pokorné modlitby, prosby, žádosti a díků činění za všecky lidi,
2 for kings and all those in authority being, so that a tranquil and quiet life we may lead in all godliness and in [all] dignity.
Za krále i za všecky v moci postavené, abychom pohodlný a pokojný život vedli ve vší pobožnosti a šlechetnosti.
3 This (for *k*) [is] good and acceptable before the Savior of us God,
Nebo toť jest dobré a vzácné před spasitelem naším Bohem,
4 who all men desires to be saved and to [the] knowledge of [the] truth to come.
Kterýž chce, aby všickni lidé spaseni byli, a k známosti pravdy přišli.
5 One for God [there is], one then mediator between God and men, [the] man Christ Jesus
Jedenť jest zajisté Bůh, jeden také i prostředník Boží a lidský, člověk Kristus Ježíš,
6 the [One] having given Himself [as] a ransom for all, the testimony proper times in [their] own,
Kterýž dal sebe samého mzdu na vykoupení za všecky, na osvědčení časem svým.
7 in regard to which was appointed I myself a herald and an apostle — [the] truth I am speaking (in Christ *K*) not I do lie — a teacher of [the] Gentiles in faith and truth.
K čemuž postaven jsem já za kazatele a apoštola, (pravduť pravím v Kristu a neklamámť, ) za učitele pohanů u víře a pravdě.
8 I desire therefore to pray the men in every place lifting up holy hands apart from anger and (dissension; *NK(O)*)
Protož chtěl bych, aby se modlili muži na všelikém místě, pozdvihujíce čistých rukou, bez hněvu a bez roztržitosti.
9 likewise also (*k*) women in apparel respectable with modesty and self-control adorning themselves, not with braided hair (or with gold *N(k)O*) or with pearls or with clothing costly,
Takž také i ženy aby se oděvem slušným s stydlivostí a s středmostí ozdobovaly, ne křtaltováním sobě vlasů, neb zlatem, aneb perlami, aneb drahým rouchem,
10 but with what is becoming to women professing [the] fear of God, through works good.
Ale (tak, jakž sluší ženám, kteréž dokazují při sobě pobožnosti, ) dobrými skutky.
11 A woman in quietness should learn in all submissiveness;
Žena ať se učí mlčeci, ve všeliké poddanosti.
12 To teach however a woman not I do permit nor to use authority over a man but to be in quietness.
Nebo ženě nedopouštím učiti, ani vládnouti nad mužem, ale aby byla v mlčení.
13 Adam for first was formed, then Eve.
Adam zajisté prvé jest stvořen, potom Eva.
14 And Adam not was deceived, but the woman (having been deceived *N(k)O*) into transgression has come;
A Adam nebyl sveden, ale žena svedena jsuci, příčinou přestoupení byla.
15 She will be saved however through childbearing if they shall abide in faith and in love and in holiness with self-restraint.
Ale však spasena bude v plození dětí, jestliže by zůstala u víře, a v lásce, a v posvěcení, s středmostí.
