1 Timothy 1
1 Paul an apostle (of [the] Lord *O*) Christ Jesus according to [the] command of God [the] Savior of us and (Lord *K*) Christ Jesus the hope of us
Paulus, Apostel Jesu Christi auf Befehl Gottes, unsres Retters, und Christi Jesu, unsrer Hoffnung,
2 To Timothy [my] true child in [the] faith: Grace, mercy, [and] peace from God [the] Father (of us *K*) and Christ Jesus the Lord of us.
an Timotheus, seinen echten Sohn im Glauben: Gnade, Barmherzigkeit, Friede von Gott, unsrem Vater und Christus Jesus, unsrem Herrn!
3 even as I urged you to remain in Ephesus [when] I was going to Macedonia so that you may warn certain men not to teach other doctrines
Wie ich dich bei meiner Abreise nach Mazedonien ermahnte, in Ephesus zu bleiben, damit du etlichen Leuten gebietest, nichts anderes zu lehren,
4 nor to give heed to myths and to genealogies endless, which (speculations *N(k)O*) bring rather than stewardship of God which [is] in faith.
auch nicht auf Legenden und endlose Geschlechtsregister zu achten, welche mehr Streitfragen hervorbringen als göttliche Erbauung im Glauben;
5 And the goal of [our] instruction is love out of a pure heart and a conscience good and a faith sincere,
und doch ist der Endzweck des Gebotes Liebe aus reinem Herzen und gutem Gewissen und ungeheucheltem Glauben.
6 from which some having missed the mark they have turned aside to meaningless discourse
Dieses [Ziel] haben etliche verfehlt und sich unnützem Geschwätz zugewandt,
7 desiring to be teachers of the Law, not understanding neither what they are saying nor [that] about which they confidently assert.
wollen Gesetzeslehrer sein und bedenken nicht, was sie sagen oder was sie behaupten.
8 We know now that good [is] the law if one it lawfully shall use,
Wir wissen aber, daß das Gesetz gut ist, wenn man es gesetzmäßig braucht und berücksichtigt,
9 knowing this, that for a righteous [one] law not is enacted, for [the] lawless however and insubordinate, for [the] ungodly and sinful, for [the] unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for slayers of man,
daß einem Gerechten kein Gesetz auferlegt ist, sondern Gesetzlosen und Unbotmäßigen, Gottlosen und Sündern, Unheiligen und Gemeinen, solchen, die Vater und Mutter mißhandeln, Menschen töten,
10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for enslavers, for liars, for perjurers, and if anything other which to sound teaching is opposed
Unzüchtigen, Knabenschändern, Menschenräubern, Lügnern, Meineidigen und was sonst der gesunden Lehre zuwider ist,
11 according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, with which was entrusted I myself.
nach dem Evangelium der Herrlichkeit des seligen Gottes, mit welchem ich betraut worden bin.
12 (and *k*) Thankfulness I have for the [One] having strengthened me for Christ Jesus the Lord of us that faithful me He esteemed having appointed [me] to service,
Und darum danke ich dem, der mir Kraft verliehen hat, Christus Jesus, unsrem Herrn, daß er mich treu erachtet und in den Dienst eingesetzt hat,
13 (*N(k)O*) formerly being a blasphemer and a persecutor and insolent; but I was shown mercy, because being ignorant I did [it] in unbelief;
der ich zuvor ein Lästerer und Verfolger und Frevler war. Aber mir ist Erbarmung widerfahren, weil ich es unwissend, im Unglauben getan habe.
14 Surpassingly increased then the grace of the Lord of us with [the] faith and love that [are] in Christ Jesus.
Über alle Maßen groß aber wurde die Gnade unsres Herrn samt dem Glauben und der Liebe, die in Christus Jesus ist.
15 Trustworthy [is] the saying and of full acceptance worthy that Christ Jesus came into the world sinners to save, of whom [the] foremost am I myself;
Glaubwürdig ist das Wort und aller Annahme wert, daß Christus Jesus in die Welt gekommen ist, um Sünder zu retten, von denen ich der Erste bin.
16 But because of this I was shown mercy, that in me myself [the] foremost may display Christ Jesus ([his] perfect *N(K)O*) patience as a pattern for those being about to believe on Him to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
Aber darum ist mir Erbarmung widerfahren, damit an mir zuerst Jesus Christus alle Geduld erzeige, zum Beispiel denen, die an ihn glauben würden zum ewigen Leben. (aiōnios g166)
17 now to the King of the ages, [the] immortal invisible only (wise *K*) God, [be] honor and glory to the ages of the ages, Amen. (aiōn g165)
Dem König der Ewigkeit aber, dem unvergänglichen, unsichtbaren, allein weisen Gott, sei Ehre und Ruhm von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen. (aiōn g165)
18 This charge I commit to you, [my] child Timothy, according to the going before as to you prophecies, that (you may war *NK(o)*) by them the good warfare
Dieses Gebot vertraue ich dir an, mein Sohn Timotheus, gemäß den früher über dich ergangenen Weissagungen, damit du in denselben den guten Kampf kämpfest, den Glauben und ein gutes Gewissen bewahrest.
19 holding faith and a good conscience, which some having cast away concerning the faith caused a shipwreck,
Dieses haben etliche von sich gestoßen und darum am Glauben Schiffbruch gelitten.
20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander whom I have handed over to Satan that they may be disciplined not to blaspheme.
Unter ihnen sind Hymenäus und Alexander, welche ich dem Satan übergeben habe, damit sie gezüchtigt werden, nicht mehr zu lästern.
