1 Thessalonians 5
1 Concerning now the times and the seasons, brothers, no need you have to you to be written;
ⲁ̅ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲭⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲕⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲥⲛⲏ ⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲭⲣⲓⲁ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲥϧⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
2 Yourselves for fully you know that (the *k*) day of [the] Lord as a thief by night in this manner comes;
ⲃ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲕⲣⲓⲃⲱⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲠ⳪ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉϥϭⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲡⲉⲧⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
3 when (for *k*) they may say; Peace and security, then suddenly upon them comes destruction as the labor pains to her in womb [pregnancy] having, and certainly not shall they escape.
ⲅ̅ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲧϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲝⲁⲡⲓⲛⲁ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϯⲛⲁⲕϩⲓ ⳿ⲉϣⲁⲥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲃⲟⲕⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϣⲫⲱⲧ.
4 You yourselves however, brothers, not are in darkness, that the day you like (a thief *NK(O)*) may grasp;
ⲇ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲭⲁⲕⲓ ⲁⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲣⲉϥϭⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
5 All (for *no*) you yourselves sons of light are and sons of day; Not we are of night nor of darkness.
ⲉ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏ ⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲟⲩⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲁ ⲛⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲁ ⳿ⲡⲭⲁⲕⲓ ⲁⲛ.
6 So then not we may sleep as (also *k*) the others but we may watch and we may be sober.
ⲋ̅ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳿ⲑⲣⲉⲛⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲡⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛⲣⲱⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲛⲓⲙⲫⲓⲛ.
7 Those for sleeping by night sleep and those becoming drunk by night get drunk;
ⲍ̅ⲛⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲁⲩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲑⲁϧⲓ ⲁⲩⲑⲁϧⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ.
8 We ourselves however of [the] day being may be sober having put on [the] breastplate of faith and love and [the] helmet [the] hope of salvation;
ⲏ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛⲉⲣⲛⲓⲙⲫⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛϯ ϩⲓⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛϯϧⲉⲗⲓⲃϣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲡⲉⲣⲓⲕⲉⲫⲁⲗⲉⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ.
9 because not has destined us God for wrath but for obtaining salvation through the Lord of us Jesus Christ
ⲑ̅ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲁ ⲫϯ ⲭⲁⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲩϫⲱⲛⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲩⲧⲁⲛϧⲟ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
10 the [One who] having died (for *NK(o)*) us, so that whether we shall watch or we shall sleep together with Him we may live.
ⲓ̅ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲓⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲣⲏⲥ ⳿ⲓⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲱⲛϧ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ.
11 Therefore do encourage one another and do build up one another even as also you are doing.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲙⲁⲛⲟⲙϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲕⲉⲧ ⲡⲉϥ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ.
12 We implore however you, brothers, to know those toiling among you and taking the lead over you in [the] Lord and admonishing you
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲧⲉⲛϯϩⲟ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲏⲉⲧϧⲟⲥⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧ ⲭⲏ ϧⲁϫⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡ⳪ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
13 and to esteem them super overexcessively super overexcessively super overexcessively in love because of the work of them. do be at peace among (yourselves. *NK(O)*)
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲭⲁⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲱⲃ ⲁⲣⲓϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
14 We exhort now you, brothers, do admonish the unruly, do encourage the fainthearted, do help the weak, do be patient toward all.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲧⲉⲛϯϩⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲙⲁ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲧ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲙⲁⲛⲟⲙϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲓ ⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
15 do see that no one evil for evil to anyone may repay, but always the good do pursue also toward one another and toward all.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳿ⲑⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲧϣⲉⲃⲓⲱ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ϭⲟϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
16 Always do rejoice;
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲣⲁϣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
17 Unceasingly do pray;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲧⲱⲃϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲙⲟⲩⲛⲕ.
18 In everything do give thanks; this for [is the] will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϣⲉⲡ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲫⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
19 The Spirit not do quench;
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲟϣⲙⲉϥ.
20 Prophecies not do despise;
ⲕ̅ⲛⲓ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣϣⲟϣϥⲟⲩ.
21 All things (now *no*) do test; To the good do hold fast;
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲁⲣⲓⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
22 From every form of evil do abstain.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ϩⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ.
23 Himself now the God of peace would sanctify you completely, and entirely your spirit and soul and body blameless at the coming of the Lord of us Jesus Christ would be preserved.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲏⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲟϫ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲁⲣⲓⲕⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲡⲁⲣⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
24 [Is] faithful the [One] calling you, who also will do [it].
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅⳿ϥⲉⲛϩⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲑⲱϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲛⲁ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⲟⲛ.
25 Brothers, do pray (also *no*) for us.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲧⲱⲃϩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ.
26 do greet the brothers all with a kiss holy.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲣⲓⲁⲥⲡⲁⲍⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲫⲓ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲃ.
27 (I adjure *N(k)O*) you [by] the Lord to be read [this] letter to all the (saints *K*) brothers.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ϯⲧⲁⲣⲕⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲠ⳪ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲑⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉϣ ⲧⲁⲓⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ.
