1 Samuel 1
1 And he was a man one from Ramathaim Zophim from [the] hill country of Ephraim and name his [was] Elkanah [the] son of Jeroham [the] son of Elihu [the] son of Tohu [the] son of Zuph an Ephrathite.
Namicha biyya gaara Efreem keessa Raamaatayiim Zoofiim jiraatu kan maqaan isaa Elqaanaa jedhamu tokkotu ture; innis ilma Yeroohaam, ilma Eliihuu, ilma Toohuu, ilma Zuufi, ilma Naasiib ture.
2 And [belonged] to him two wives [the] name of one [was] Hannah and [the] name of the second [was] Peninnah and it belonged to Peninnah children and [belonged] to Hannah not children.
Innis niitii lama qaba ture; maqaan ishee tokko Haannaa, kaan immoo Pheniinaa jedhama ture. Pheniinaan ijoollee qabdi; Haannaan garuu ijoollee tokko illee hin qabdu ture.
3 And he went up the man that from city his from days - days towards to bow down and to sacrifice to Yahweh of hosts at Shiloh and there [the] two [the] sons of Eli Hophni and Phinehas [were] priests of Yahweh.
Elqaanaan wagguma waggaadhaan Waaqayyoo Waan Hunda Dandaʼuuf aarsaa dhiʼeessuu fi sagaduudhaaf magaalaa jiraatuu kaʼee gara Shiilootti ol baʼa ture. Achittis ilmaan Eelii lamaan Hofniinii fi Fiinehaas luboota Waaqayyoo turan.
4 And it was the day and he sacrificed Elkanah and he gave to Peninnah wife his and to all sons her and daughters her portions.
Yommuu guyyaan itti Elqaanaan aarsaa dhiʼeessu gaʼutti inni niitii isaa Pheniinaa, ilmaan isaatii fi intallan isaa hundaaf foon sana irraa qooda isaanii ni kenna ture.
5 And to Hannah he gave a portion one double for Hannah he loved and Yahweh he had closed womb her.
Inni sababii Haannaa jaallatuuf qooda harka lama isheedhaaf kenna ture; Waaqayyo garuu gadameessa ishee cufee ture.
6 And she provoked her rival her also provocation in order to disconcert her for he had closed Yahweh behind womb her.
Sababii Waaqayyo gadameessa Haannaa cufeef masaanuun ishee akka isheen aartuuf ishee tuttuqaa turte.
7 And thus he did a year in a year as often as went up she in [the] house of Yahweh thus she provoked her and she wept and not she ate.
Kunis wagguma waggaadhaan itti fufe. Yeroo Haannaan gara mana Waaqayyootti ol baatutti masaanuun ishee, ishee tuttuqaa turte; kanaafuu Haannaan ni boossi, nyaatas hin nyaattu turte.
8 And he said to her Elkanah husband her O Hannah why? do you weep and why? not are you eating and why? is sad heart your ¿ not [am] I good to you more than ten sons.
Dhirsi ishee Elqaanaanis, “Haannaa ati maaliif boossa? Maaliif hin nyaattu? Garaan kee maaliif gaddaa? Ani ilmaan kudhan siif hin caaluu?” Isheen jedha ture.
9 And she arose Hannah after had eaten in Shiloh and after had drunk and Eli the priest [was] sitting on the seat at [the] doorpost of [the] temple of Yahweh.
Gaafa tokko isaan Shiilootti erga nyaatanii dhuganii booddee Haannaan ol kaatee dhaabate. Eeliin lubichi dhaaba balbala mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo bira barcuma irra taaʼaa ture.
10 And she [was] bitter of soul and she prayed to Yahweh and utterly she wept.
Haannaanis guddaa gadditee hiqqifatee booʼuudhaan Waaqayyoon kadhatte.
11 And she vowed a vow and she said O Yahweh of hosts certainly [if] you will look - on [the] affliction of maidservant your and you will remember me and not you will forget maidservant your and you will give to maidservant of your spring of men and I will give him to Yahweh all [the] days of life his and a razor not it will go up on head his.
Akkanas jettee wareegde; “Yaa Waaqayyoo Waan Hunda Dandeessu, yoo ati dhiphina garbittii keetii ilaaltee na yaadatte, yoo ati garbittii kee dagachuu baattee ilma naa kennite ani bara jireenya isaa guutuu isa Waaqayyoof nan kenna; qarabaan tokko iyyuu mataa isaa hin tuqu.”
12 And it was that she had increased to pray before Yahweh and Eli [was] watching mouth her.
Yeroo Haannaan ittuma fuftee fuula Waaqayyoo duratti kadhachaa turtettis Eeliin afaan ishee ilaalaa ture.
13 And Hannah she [was] speaking to heart her only lips her [were] quivering and voice her not it was heard and he considered her Eli to a drunken [woman].
Haannaanis garaa isheetti kadhachaa turte; hidhii isheetu sochoʼa malees sagaleen ishee hin dhagaʼamu ture. Kanaafuu Eeliin waan isheen machoofte seʼee,
14 And he said to her Eli until when? will you be drunk! remove wine your from with you.
“Ati hamma yoomiitti machoofta? Daadhii wayinii kee of irraa fageessi” jedheen.
15 And she answered Hannah and she said no O lord my [am] a woman hard of spirit I and wine and strong drink not I have drunk and I have poured out soul my before Yahweh.
Haannaanis akkana jettee deebifte; “Lakki akkas miti; yaa gooftaa ko, ani dubartii akka malee dhiphatee dha. Ani lubbuu koo fuula Waaqayyoo duratti dhangalaase malee daadhii wayinii yookaan dhugaatii nama macheessu hin dhugne.
16 May not you give maidservant your before a daughter of worthlessness for from [the] greatness of complaint my and provocation my I have spoken until now.
Ati garbittii kee akka dubartii faayidaa hin qabne tokkootti hin ilaalin. Ani sababii dhiphinaa fi gadda koo guddaa sanaatiif hamma ammaatti kadhachaara.”
17 And he answered Eli and he said go to peace and [the] God of Israel may he grant petition your which you have asked from with him.
Eeliinis, “Nagaan deemi; Waaqni Israaʼel waan ati kadhatte siif haa kennu” jedhee deebiseef.
18 And she said may she find maidservant your favor in view your and she went the woman to way her and she ate and face her not they were to her still.
Isheenis, “Garbittiin kee fuula kee duratti surraa haa argattu” jette. Ergasiis deemsa ishee itti fufte; nyaata ni nyaatte; gaddis fuula ishee irratti hin mulʼanne.
19 And they rose early in the morning and they bowed down before Yahweh and they returned and they went to house their Ramah towards and he knew Elkanah Hannah wife his and he remembered her Yahweh.
Isaanis guyyaa itti aanu ganama barii kaʼanii fuula Waaqayyoo duratti sagadanii gara mana isaanii Raamaatti deebiʼan. Elqaanaan niitii isaa Haannaa bira gaʼe; Waaqayyos ishee yaadate.
20 And it was to [the] circuit of the days and she conceived Hannah and she bore a son and she called name his Samuel for from Yahweh I asked for him.
Haannaan ulfooftee yeroon isaa geenyaan ilma deesse. Maqaa isaas, “Ani Waaqayyo irraa isa kadhadheeraatii” jettee Saamuʼeel jettee moggaafte.
21 And he went up the man Elkanah and all household his to sacrifice to Yahweh [the] sacrifice of the days and vow his.
Elqaanaan warra mana isaa jiraatan hunda wajjin Waaqayyoof aarsaa waggaa dhiʼeessuu fi wareega isaa galchuuf ol baʼe;
22 And Hannah not she went up for she said to husband her until he will be weaned the lad and I will take him and he will appear with [the] presence of Yahweh and he will dwell there until perpetuity.
Haannaan garuu hin dhaqne. Isheenis dhirsa isheetiin, “Erga mucaan kun harma guʼee booddee ani isa geesseen fuula Waaqayyoo duratti isa dhiʼeessa; innis jireenya isaa guutuu achuma jiraata” jette.
23 And he said to her Elkanah husband her do the good in view your remain until wean you him only may he carry out Yahweh word his and she remained the woman and she suckled son her until (had weaned she *LAH(b)*) him.
Dhirsi ishee Elqaanaanis, “Waanuma jaallatte godhi; ati hamma harma isa guusiftutti asuma turi; Waaqayyo garuu dubbii isaa fiixaan haa baasu” jedheen. Kanaafuu dubartittiin mana turtee hamma harma isa guusiftutti ilma ishee hoosifte.
24 And she brought up him with her just when she had weaned him with young bulls three and an ephah one of flour and a skin of wine and she took him [the] house of Yahweh Shiloh and the lad [was] a lad.
Ishee erga mucicha harma guusiftee booddee mucichaa fi dibicha loonii kan umuriin isaa waggaa sadii taʼe, daakuu iifii tokkoo fi daadhii wayinii qalqalloo tokko fudhattee gara Shiiloo gara mana Waaqayyootti fidde. Mucichis daaʼima ture.
25 And they slaughtered the young bull and they brought the lad to Eli.
Isaanis dibicha sana qalanii mucicha gara Eeliitti fidan;
26 And she said pardon me O lord my [by] [the] life of self your O lord my I [am] the woman who stood with you in this [place] to pray to Yahweh.
isheenis akkana jetteen; “Yaa gooftaa ko, duʼa lubbuu keetii ti; dubartiin as si bira dhaabattee Waaqayyoon kadhachaa turte sun anuma.
27 Concerning the lad this I prayed and he has granted Yahweh to me petition my which I asked from with him.
Ani mucaa kana argachuuf kadhadheera; Waaqayyos waan ani isa kadhadhe naaf kenneera.
28 And also I I entrust him to Yahweh all the days which he has been he [is] asked by Yahweh and he bowed down there to Yahweh.
Kanaafuu ani amma Waaqayyoofan isa kenna. Bara jireenya isaa guutuu Waaqayyoof ni kennama.” Isaanis achitti Waaqayyoof sagadan.
